As one of Shakespeare’s finest tragic dramas,King Lear features endless good and evil,joy and sorrows,which constitute the conflicts and disorders embodied in the play.Among the characters portrayed in King Lear,edmund’s role as a bastard and villain and his attempt of redemption before his death invite not only audiences’criticism but also pity.

edmund Husserl's first important move about phenomenology is the"phenomenological reduction"which means that we should reduce the external world to the contents of our consciousness alone. However, Hans-Georg Gadamer holds the opinion that all interpretation of a past work consists in a dialogue between past and present(Eagleton, T. 2009:62). Gadamer's famous theory is fusion of horizons which means that the event of understanding comes about when our own"horizon"of historical meanings and assumptions"fuses"with the"horizon"within which the work itself is placed. The present thesis takes Hawthorne's YoungGoodmanBrown as an example to illustrate different understandings when readers apply the two different theories.

由于种群数量的急剧下降和分布区缩小,黄颊麦鸡(Vanellus gregarius)近期被 IUCN 提升为极危物种。该物种至今在中国唯一一个发表的记录是1998年见到的迷鸟。我们查阅了一个德国鸟类考察队1876年的报告和历史文献。该报告认为黄颊麦鸡在19世纪下半叶在中国西部的新疆为繁殖鸟。根据当地专家推测,该物种已在新疆绝灭。本文建议开展调查以阐明其现状。
