The ectomycorrhizal fungal(EMF) communities associated with Masson pine(Pinus massoniana lamb.) and oak(Quercus fabric Hance.) were investigated in Xiangtan Mn mining area in Hunan Province,*** sampled trees were divided into three groups based on soil color:pine trees growing in yellow soil(normal soil type in the site,40 trees),pine trees in black soil(polluted with Mn mine wastes,40 trees) and oak trees in gray-black soil(32 trees).There were wide variations in N,P and metal concentrations in each type of *** Mn concentrations in the black rhizosphere soil was from 169.6 to 22,598.4 mg kg(mean value:4,034.5),66.6 to 17,000.0 mg kg(4,246.8) in oak rhizosphere soils,and 163.0 to 8,898.4 mg kg(2,019.8 mg kg) in yellow rhizosphere soils of pine,*** rates of Masson pine growing in black soils(39.1±34.4%) and oak trees(38.9±15.2%),being not significantly different from each other,were lower than that of pine in the yellow soil(54.6±18.7%).In total,53 EMF OTUs were identified at 97%similarity threshold,of which 48 were found in pine trees and 20 in oak *** to pine trees in the yellow soil,EMF richness of pine in the black soil and oak was lower than that of pine in the yellow soil,but no significant differences in diversity *** was abundant in pine root systems(38.0%relative abundance),but rare in oak ectomycorrhizal tips(3.6%relative abundance).Russulaceae,which was dominant on pine root systems in the yellow soil,became rare on pine in the black soil(2.8%) and absent in oak *** further determine the effect of Mn concentrations on the EMF composition,richness,and diversity,80 pine root samples were classified into 8 subgroups according to Mn concentrations in the rhizosphere *** analysis showed a significantly negative effect of soil Mn on EMF richness(Mn ***:R =-0.795,P = 0.018).Atheliaceae was abundant(>20%relative abundance) in seven subgroups with higher soil Mn concentrati
