The coordinated evolution of ecological environment,public service,and tourism economy along the Silk Road Economic Belt,using the Dual-Carbon Targets

Carbon peak and carbon neutrality(dual-carbon)are important targets for the international response to climate change.The Silk Road Economic Belt is a strategic resource region and is important for future ecological environment and tourism development.Based on the“dual-carbon”targets,the Single index quantification,Multiple index synthesis,and Poly-criteria integration evaluation model were used in this study to measure the coordinated development index of the ecological environment,public service,and tourism economy along the Silk Road Economic Belt and to analyze its spatial and temporal evolution.Further,it explores the dynamic evolution and development trend of the three systems using the Kernel Density and Grey Markov Prediction Model.The results show that the coordinated development index along this region needs to be improved during the study period.Furthermore,the coordinated development index of the Southwest region is relatively higher than that of the Northwest region.From the development trend of the three systems,all of them develop in a stable manner;however,the tourism economy system is easily affected by external disturbances.The coordinated development index of the three systems changes dynamically and tends to be in a good state of coordination.There is a certain spatial and temporal heterogeneity.The gravity center of the coordinated development index has been in the Southwest region.During the forecast period,the coordinated development index along this region will improve significantly,while insufficient and unbalanced development will continue.

Coupling coordination analysis of Mazu culture,socio-economy and ecological environment of Meizhou Island

Taking the pilgrimage,tourism and cultural island of Meizhou Island as an example,the evaluation index system of the coupling and coordinated development of“Mazu culture,socio-economy,eco-environment”(MSE)compound system was constructed.The index weights were determined by AHP-entropy method,and the coupling degree,coordinated degree,comprehensive evaluation index and grey correlation degree of MSE system of Mazu Island from 2012 to 2022 were measure.The results showed that:(1)the comprehensive evaluation indexes of the three subsystems was on the rise in general,but the evaluation index of the ecological subsystems increased relatively slowly.(2)The coupling degree was only in the running-in stage in 2012,and the other years were in the coordinated coupling stage.(3)The coupling coordination degree increased from 0.35 in 2012 to 0.82 in 2022,the coupling coordination level was changed from mild imbalance to good coordination.(4)Through the comparison of grey correlation degree,the 24 indexes in the evaluation index system had great influence on the coupling coordination degree of MSE system.The coupling coordination degree was closely related to the development of socio-economy and the spread of Mazu culture.With the rapid development of tourism brought about by the spread of Mazu culture,the pressure on the ecological environment will be increasing.Compared with the rapid growth of tourism and economy,it is equally important to strengthen environmental protection and pay attention to the quality of ecological environment development.

ecological environment quality evaluation of the Sahel region in Africa based on remote sensing ecological index

Long-term monitoring of the ecological environment changes is helpful for the protection of the ecological environment.Based on the ecological environment of the Sahel region in Africa,we established a remote sensing ecological index(RSEI)model for this region by combining dryness,moisture,greenness,and desertification indicators.Using the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)data in Google Earth Engine(GEE)platform,this study analyzed the ecological environment quality of the Sahel region during the period of 2001-2020.We used liner regression and fluctuation analysis methods to study the trend and fluctuation of RSEI,and utilized the stepwise regression approach to analyze the contribution of each indicator to the RSEI.Further,the correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between RSEI and precipitation,and Hurst index was applied to evaluate the change trend of RSEI in the future.The results show that RSEI of the Sahel region exhibited spatial heterogeneity.Specifically,it exhibited a decrease in gradient from south to north of the Sahel region.Moreover,RSEI in parts of the Sahel region presented non-zonal features.Different land-cover types demonstrated different RSEI values and changing trends.We found that RSEI and precipitation were positively correlated,suggesting that precipitation is the controlling factor of RSEI.The areas where RSEI values presented an increasing trend were slightly less than the areas where RSEI values presented a decreasing trend.In the Sahel region,the areas with the ecological environment characterized by continuous deterioration and continuous improvement accounted for 44.02%and 28.29%of the total study area,respectively,and the areas in which the ecological environment was changing from improvement to deterioration and from deterioration to improvement accounted for 12.42%and 15.26%of the whole area,respectively.In the face of the current ecological environment and future change trends of RSEI in the Sahel region,the research results provide a refere

The estuary and coastal zone are the key areas for socio-economic development,and they are also the important channels for pollutants transported to the sea.The construction of the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge changed the hydrodynamic condition of the bay,which made the self-purification capacity of the bay weakened and the pollution in the estuary and adjacent coastal zone become more serious.In this study,55 surface sediment samples were collected from the three seriously polluted estuaries and the adjacent coastal zone of Jiaozhou Bay to comprehensively study how the benthic foraminifera response to heavy metal pollution and human engineering,and to assess the ecological risks of the bay.A total of 80 species,belonging to 42 genera,were identified in this study.The results showed that Cu,Pb,Cr,Hg,Zn,and As had low to median ecological risks in the study area which would definitely affect the ecological system.The construction of the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge has resulted in pollutants accumulated at the river mouth of Loushan River,which has adverse effects on the survival and growth of benthic foraminifera.The lowest population density and diversity as well as the highest FAI(Foraminiferal Abnormality Index)and FMI(Foraminiferal Monitoring Index)occurred at Loushan River Estuary which indicated that the ecological environment of the northeastern part of Jiaozhou Bay(Loushan River Estuary)had been seriously damaged.Licun River and Haipo River estuaries and the adjacent coastal zone were slightly polluted and had low ecological risk.As a consequence,it suggested that the supervision of industrial and domestic waste discharge and the protection of the ecological environment in northeast Jiaozhou Bay should be paid more attention.

Marine Ranching Engineering Collaborative Innovation from the Perspective of ecological environment

As a resource development model with both economic and ecological functions,the environmental friendliness of marine ranching products meets the environmental needs of consumers.However,the lack of technological innovation ability limits the development of marine ranching.Therefore,this research builds a marine ranching collaborative innovation system with multi-agent participation.Evolutionary game theory is used to analyze strategic choices of all parties and the conditions of system equilibrium,and numerical simulation is used to analyze the effect of relevant factors.This paper integrates the benefits from the improvement of environmental friendliness into the payoff matrix,and explains the significance of collaborative innovation to the development of marine ranching from the perspective of ecological environment.The results showed:the participation willingness of marine ranching enterprises is positively related to open innovation subject,while the participation willingness of the other two parties is negatively related to the government;The incentive effect of collaboration is negatively correlated with the government’s will,positively correlated with the other two parties;The incentive effect of government subsidies positively affects the willingness of the three parties to participate.Finally,suggestions are provided for each participant to maintain the strategic choice of marine ranching collaborative innovation system.

Effect of groundwater on the ecological water environment of typical inland lakes in the Inner Mongolian Plateau

To explore the causes of the ecological environment deterioration of lakes in the Inner Mongolia Plateau,this study took a typical inland lake Daihai as an example,and investigated the groundwater recharge in the process of lake shrinkage and eutrophication.Using the radon isotope(^(222)Rn)as the main means of investigation,the ^(222)Rn mass balance equation was established to evaluate the groundwater recharge in Daihai.The spatial variability of ^(222)Rn activity in lake water and groundwater,the contribution of groundwater recharge to lake water balance and its effect on nitrogen and phosphorus pollution in lake water were discussed.The analysis showed that,mainly controlled by the fault structure,the activity of ^(222)Rn in groundwater north and south of Daihai is higher than that in the east and west,and the difference in lithology and hydraulic gradient may also be the influencing factors of this phenomenon.The ^(222)Rn activity of the middle and southeast of the underlying lake is greater,indicating that the ^(222)Rn flux of groundwater inflow is higher,and the runoff intensity is greater,which is the main groundwater recharge area for the lake.The estimated groundwater recharge in 2021 was 3017×10^(4) m^(3),which was 57%of the total recharge to the lake,or 1.6 times and 8.1 times that of precipitation and surface runoff.The TN and TP contents in Daihai have been rising continuously,and the average TN and TP concentrations in the lake water in 2021 were 4.21 mg·L^(−1) and 0.12 mg·L^(−1),respectively.The TN and TP contents entering the lake with groundwater recharge were 6.8 times and 8.7 times above those of runoff,accounting for 87%and 90%of the total input,respectively.The calculation results showed that groundwater is not only the main source of recharge for Daihai,but also the main source of exogenous nutrients.In recent years,the pressurized exploitation of groundwater in the basin is beneficial in increasing the groundwater recharge to the lake,reducing the water balance difference of the lake,and slo

Assessment of vegetation cover changes and the contributing factors in the Al-Ahsa Oasis using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)

The abandonment of date palm grove of the former Al-Ahsa Oasis in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia has resulted in the conversion of delicate agricultural area into urban area.The current state of the oasis is influenced by both expansion and degradation factors.Therefore,it is important to study the spatiotemporal variation of vegetation cover for the sustainable management of oasis resources.This study used Landsat satellite images in 1987,2002,and 2021 to monitor the spatiotemporal variation of vegetation cover in the Al-Ahsa Oasis,applied multi-temporal Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)data spanning from 1987 to 2021 to assess environmental and spatiotemporal variations that have occurred in the Al-Ahsa Oasis,and investigated the factors influencing these variation.This study reveals that there is a significant improvement in the ecological environment of the oasis during 1987–2021,with increase of NDVI values being higher than 0.10.In 2021,the highest NDVI value is generally above 0.70,while the lowest value remains largely unchanged.However,there is a remarkable increase in NDVI values between 0.20 and 0.30.The area of low NDVI values(0.00–0.20)has remained almost stable,but the region with high NDVI values(above 0.70)expands during 1987–2021.Furthermore,this study finds that in 1987–2002,the increase of vegetation cover is most notable in the northern region of the study area,whereas from 2002 to 2021,the increase of vegetation cover is mainly concentrated in the northern and southern regions of the study area.From 1987 to 2021,NDVI values exhibit the most pronounced variation,with a significant increase in the“green”zone(characterized by NDVI values exceeding 0.40),indicating a substantial enhancement in the ecological environment of the oasis.The NDVI classification is validated through 50 ground validation points in the study area,demonstrating a mean accuracy of 92.00%in the detection of vegetation cover.In general,both the user’s and producer’s accuracies of NDVI classification are extrem

Coupling coordination and evolution of finance,economy and ecological environment:The case of Silk Road provinces

Based on the comparative analysis of the coupling mechanism between finance,economy and ecological environment,this paper uses the coupling coordination degree and grey prediction model to measure the comprehensive evaluation value and coupling coordination degree of the financial,economic and ecological environment composite system of five provinces along the Silk Road in China from 2010 to 2019,and analyzes the evolution law of the coupling and coordinated development of finance,economy and ecological environment from the perspective of system coordinated development.The results show that:(1)The development of the financial and economic systems of the provinces along the Silk Road shows a relatively continuous and stable good trend,while the development of the ecosystem shows more obvious fluctuations.(2)In general,the overall level of the comprehensive evaluation of each system in the provinces along the route has shown a trend of improvement,but the level is not high.(3)During the investigation by provinces,it is found that the coordination level of the coupling coordination degree of finance,economy and ecological environment of each province is in three stages:moderate disorder,mild disorder,and imminent imbalance.However,Shaanxi Province has changed from imminent imbalance to barely coordination earlier,which indicates that there is regional heterogeneity in the three coupling coordination relationships among regions.(4)According to the calculation of the gray GM(1,1)model,the coupling coordination degree in Shaanxi Province will maintain a good upward trend and reach a intermediate coordination stage in 2023,while the other provinces will enter the barely coordination and primary coordination stages respectively with a slightly slower growth rate.Finally,based on the research conclusions,this paper puts forward some effective policy recommendations for the coordinated development of regional finance,economy and ecological environment,such as dredging the diffusion channels of regional financial resources,

Climate Change and Its Impact on ecological environment in Western Liaoning in Recent 50 years

Based on the observation data of meteorological stations in western Liaoning from 1971 to 2020,the trend,Morlet wavelet,MK mutation and other methods were used to analyze the data.The results show that the annual average temperature of western Liaoning was 9.29℃;the annual average precipitation was 542.2 mm,and the trend change was not obvious;the temperature had obvious quasi-13-year,quasi-19-year and quasi-45-year cycles,and the precipitation had quasi-3-year,quasi-6-year,quasi-14-year and quasi-29-year cycles;there was a sudden change in temperature in 1990,and the warming was significant after the sudden change;the typical abrupt changes of precipitation occurred in 1979 and 2000,but the abrupt changes were not significant.

During recent years,the Party Central Committee and the State Council have attached great importance to the protection and governance of the ecological environment,put the construction of ecological civilization in a prominent position,and launched a series of strategic policies with strong foresight and guidance.Among them,the modernization of the governance system of ecological environment is regarded as the top priority of strengthening the ecological environment governance and the construction of ecological civilization.Based on the in-depth analysis of the connotation and background of the modernization of the ecological environment governance system,this paper analyzes the main problems and challenges faced by the current national ecological environment governance system,and puts forward the paths and measures to accelerate the modernization of the national ecological environment governance system,so as to provide a theoretical reference for the construction of national ecological civilization.
