Evolution of coordination degree of eco-economic system and early-warning in the Yangtze River Delta

On the basis of Landsat TM data of the Yangtze River Delta （YRD） Economic Zone in 1991, 2001 and 2008, this article, taking 90 counties in this region as study units, built spatial data transformation models, ecosystem service value （ESV） and coordination degree of eco-economic system （CDES） models. With the aid of ArcGIS9.3, mass grid and vector data has been processed for spatial analyses. ESV and CDES indexes have demonstrated the relationship between economic development and eco-environment system and its evolu- tion characteristics in the researched areas. Furthermore, the indexes have also been used for functional zoning and pattern recognition. Some results can be shown as follows. Firstly, since 1991, land use in the YRD has greatly changed： urban land area has increased primar- ily from original paddy land, dry land, grassland, garden plot and other land. Secondly, the ESV model has proved the deterioration trend of the YRD ecological system from 1991 to 2001 and slower degradation trend during 2001-2008. Also, it is illustrated that land-use conversion from water area and paddy field to urban area and dry land could cause great damage to ecosystem stabilization. Thirdly, GDP in the central and southern parts of the YRD is higher than that in the northern part since 1991. GDP growth rate in the central part is higher than that in the northern part during 1991-2001. This growth rate in the central part is also higher than that in the southern and northern parts of the YRD from 2001 to 2008. Fourthly, the YRD could be categorized into 12 types of subregions in terms of CDES index. According to its spatial characteristic of CDES index value in the study area, eco-economic conflict area with low CDES value which is located in the central part is surrounded by eco-coordinated areas with high CDES values. Risk early-warning Method for Natural Disasters Based on Integration of Entropy and DEA Model

Risk early-warning of natural disasters is a very intricate non-deterministic prediction, and it was difficult to resolve the conflicts and incompatibility of the risk structure. Risk early-warning factors of natural disasters were differentiated into essential attributes and external characters, and its workflow mode was established on risk early-warning structure with integrated Entropy and DEA model, whose steps were put forward. On the basis of standard risk early-warning DEA model of natural disasters, weight coefficient of risk early-warning factors was determined with Information Entropy method, which improved standard risk early-warning DEA model with non-Archimedean infinitesimal, and established risk early-warning preference DEA model based on integrated entropy weight and DEA Model. Finally, model was applied into landslide risk early-warning case in earthquake-damaged emergency process on slope engineering, which exemplified the outcome could reflect more risk information than the method of standard DEA model, and reflected the rationality, feasibility, and impersonality, revealing its better ability on comprehensive safety and structure risk.

This paper proposes a new RAID-based system,we defined as REM:RAID system with early-warning and data *** can predict RAID potential fault according to disk health degree and array *** the fault has been predicted,it takes data migration to protect the data,which allocates reserved space in every disk and arranges to redirect the data in the non-repairable sectors to the reserved space;when the number of the bad sectors in the disk exceeds threshold or the disk is in poor health,the system will copy data of the unreliable disk to a new one;when an array of multiple arrays early-warning,data can be moved into other backup array of the multiple *** results show that REM can enhance the reliability of system and reduce the entire system’s performance.

An early warning System for Regional Rain-Induced Landslide Hazard

Landslide in alpine regions often causes heavy losses of both human lives and properties, most of the landslides are induced by heavy rainfall. In this paper, we put forward an early warning system of rain-induced landslide. From 2002, we carried on the demonstrative work of landslide monitoring and early warning in Yaan, Sichuan Province, China, and constructed the first county-scale landslide monitoring and early warning region. Yucheng District of Yaan City is located in the west of the Sichuan Basin, right in the intersection of SichuanBasin and the Tibetan Plateau. The slopes are made of Mesozoic sedimentary rock, sandstone inter-bedded with mudstone. Yucheng District has the title “sky funnel” because of the high precipitation, the annual precipitation is about 1750 mm. We carried out detailed landslide survey, and obtained the location, scale, characteristics, influence and triggering factors of the landslides. Then we assessed the regional landslide susceptibility. Based on the evolution law of the landslides, we selected ten factors to study the relationship between the factors and landslide. Using the bi-variate statistics method, we calculated the contribution to landslide from each factor, classified the susceptibility into four categories. We set up the regional rainfall monitoring network with 13 automatic CAWS600R rain gauges. Using the landslide survey data, we studied the rainfall influencing of the regional landslides. The one-day and three-day rainfall controls the occurrence of regional landslide. We also classified the triggering effect of rainfall into four categories. We presented a method to calculate the landslide danger degree using the susceptibility and triggering category. Utilizing the predicted rainfall data and real-time monitored rainfall data, together with the landslide susceptibility map, we developed a WebGIS-based landslide warning system, which greatly strengthened the capability for geohazard control.

Variation of phytoplankton community before an induced cyanobacterial(Arthrospira platensis) bloom

A cyanobacterial （Arthrospira platensis） bloom was induced in situ by nutrient manipulation in an enclosure. The succession of the phytoplankton community and the water chemistry variations before the appearance of bloom, as well as their relationship, were investigated. The cell pigment variations were studied simultaneously. The Pearson＇s correlation analysis showed that there was no significant correlation between water chemistry and green algal or cyanobacterial composition, indicating that water chemistry variations were not suitable to be used as indicators for cyanobacterial-bloom early-warning. However, the diversity index of the phytoplankton community decreased sharply before the bloom appeared. Therefore, the dynamics of phytoplankton community was put forward to be an indicator for cyanobacterial-bloom early-warning. In addition, the cell pigment variations represented the changes of community structure, which should be useful for studying the dynamics of phytoplankton community.
