Reliability analysis of a composite laminate using estimation theory

Composite laminates are made up of composite single-plies sequence. The plies generally have the same fiber and resin and their difference in fiber orientation results in a difference in various laminates' strength. Tsai-Hill failure criterion as a limiting state function to analyze structural reliability of a composite laminate and estimation theory in order to estimate statistical parameters of effective stress were utilized to construct probability box. Finally, we used the Monte Carlo simulation and FERUM software to calculate the upper and lower bounds of probability of failure.

Vertical tire forces are essential for vehicle modelling and dynamic ***,an evaluation of the vertical tire forces on a multi-axle truck is difficult to *** current methods require a large amount of experimental data and many sensors owing to the wide variation of the parameters and the *** simplify the design process and reduce the demand of the sensors,this paper presents a practical approach to estimating the vertical tire forces of a multi-axle truck for dynamic *** estimation system is based on a novel vertical force model and a proposed adaptive treble extend Kalman filter(ATEKF).To adapt to the widely varying parameters,a sliding mode update is designed to make the ATEKF adaptive,and together with the use of an initial setting update and a vertical tire force adjustment,the overall system becomes more *** particular,the model aims to eliminate the effects of the over-constraint and the uneven weight *** results show that the ATEKF method achieves an excellent performance in a vertical force evaluation,and its performance is better than that of the treble extend Kalman filter.

Phase Transition of the Pair Contact Process Model in a Fragmented Network

We investigate the phase transition of the pair contact process （PCP） model in a fragmented network. The network is formed by rewiring the link between two nearest neighbors to another randomly selected site in one dimension with a probability q. When the average degree （k〉 = 2, the system exhibits a structure transition and the lattice is fragmented into several isolated subgraphs, it is shown that a giant cluster appears and its node fraction does not change nearly for q 〉 0. Furthermore, it is found that the critical behavior of the continuous phase transition for the PCP model is different from the directed percolation （DP） class and the estimated values of the critical exponents are independent of the rewiring probability for q 〉 0. We conjecture that the structure transition for （k） = 2 takes an important role in the change of the critical behavior of the continuous phase transition.

Measure of nonlinearity for underwater target tracking using hull-mounted sensor

Purpose-Doppler-Bearing Tracking(DBT)is commonly used in target tracking applications for the underwater environment using the Hull-Mounted Sensor(HMS).It is an important and challenging problem in an underwater ***/methodology/approach-The system nonlinearity in an underwater environment increases due to several reasons such as the type of measurements taken,the speeds of target and observer,environmental conditions,number of sensors considered for measurements and so *** of nonlinearity(DoNL)for these problems are analyzed using a proposed measure of nonlinearity(MoNL)for state ***-In this research,the authors analyzed MoNL for state estimation and computed the conditional MoNL(normalized)using different filtering algorithms where measurements are obtained from a single sensor array(***).MoNL is implemented to find out the system nonlinearity for different filtering algorithms and identified how much nonlinear the system is,that is,to measure nonlinearity of a ***/value-Algorithms are evaluated for various scenarios with different angles on the target bow(ATB)in Monte-Carlo *** of root mean squared(RMS)errors in position and velocity is carried out to assess the state estimation accuracy using MATLAB.

Modelling of Hot-Electron Energy in Short-Channel MOSFETs by Electrical Method

Channel hot-electron （HE） energy in short-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors （MOS-FETs） is estimated based on electrical characterization. The HE assisted gate leakage is monitored, and its energy dependent tunnelling probability is calculated, from which the excess energy of HE is estimated. The credibility of the proposed method is supported by the experimental and theoretical results, and its accuracy in ultra-small-feature-size device application is also discussed.
