dynamic self-assembly processes occurring out of thermodynamic equilibrium underlie many forms of adaptive and intelligent behaviors in natural *** of the continuous input of energy,the dynamic self-assembly provides the opportunity for creating structures that are unattainable in equilibrium *** this paper,we propose a strategy in the dynamic self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers regulated by reversible chemical *** time-dependently tuning the reaction direction in the simulations,the amphiphilicity of building block keeps changing *** on this dynamic process,we can obtain exotic self-assembled vesicle with surface pores which is otherwise metastable in an equilibrium *** effects induced by the type of chemical reaction and the reaction period are *** at short reaction period in suitable reversible reaction,novel self-assembly structure *** is attributed to the competition of reaction and diffusion in the dynamic process,by which the local component of building blocks alters a lot,leading to large local surface tension resulting in the formation of perforated *** order to predict the assembled structure in a dynamic process,we build up the relationship between component ratio P,the diffusion effect parameter Pdiff and assembled *** dynamic self-assembly regulated by chemical reaction holds great promise as a rational strategy to realize exotic functional materials that are not easily obtained in equilibrium.

dynamics of two polarized nanoparticles

The intrinsic dynamics of two interacting electric polarized nanorods is theoretically investigated. The relative motion between them caused by electric dipole-dipole interaction is derived based on the generalized Lagrangian formulation. The results show that the relative translation and rotation are nonlinear and closely dependent on the initial configuration of the two nanorods. Furthermore, the general conditions of the initial configuration, which determine the two nanorods to repel or attract each other at the initial time, are obtained. The two-dimensional relative motion of the two nanorods shows that the antiparallel and head-to-tail ordering stable self-assembly are respectively formed in two planar initial configurations. For different three-dimensional initial configurations, the interesting dynamic relative attraction, repulsion, and oscillation with rotation are respectively realized. Finally, the theoretical schemes which realize the relaxing, direct head-to-tail ordering, and direct antiparallel ordering stable self-assembly are presented according to the different modes of the motion of the nanoparticles. Some of our results agree well with the results of experiments and simulations.

Extracellular matrix(ECM)undergoes dynamic inflation that dynamically changes ligand nanospacing but has not been *** we utilize ECM-mimicking photocontrolled supramolecular ligand-tunable Azo^(+)self-assembly composed of azobenzene derivatives(Azo^(+))stacked via cation-πinteractions and stabilized with RGD ligand-bearing poly(acrylic acid).Near-infrared-upconverted-ultraviolet light induces cis-Azo^(+)-mediated inflation that suppresses cation-πinteractions,thereby inflating liganded *** inflation increases nanospacing of“closely nanospaced”ligands from 1.8 nm to 2.6 nm and the surface area of liganded selfassembly that facilitate stem cell adhesion,mechanosensing,and differentiation both in vitro and in vivo,including the release of loaded molecules by destabilizing water bridges and hydrogen bonds between the Azo^(+)molecules and loaded ***,visible light induces trans-Azo^(+)formation that facilitates cation-πinteractions,thereby deflating self-assembly with“closely nanospaced”ligands that inhibits stem cell adhesion,mechanosensing,and *** stark contrast,when ligand nanospacing increases from 8.7 nm to 12.2 nm via the inflation of self-assembly,the surface area of“distantly nanospaced”ligands increases,thereby suppressing stem cell adhesion,mechanosensing,and ***-term in vivo stability of self-assembly via real-time tracking and upconversion are *** tuning of ligand nanospacing can unravel dynamic ligand-cell interactions for stem cell-regulated tissue regeneration.

Spreading of agricultural sprays on plant surfaces is a significant task, since it decreases pesticide/herbicide usage and thereby reduce the risk of environmental pollution. [1] Here, we report a method of increasing the spreading of quintrione droplets on hydrophobic or superhydrophobic surfaces through its dynamic self-assembly with amino pillar [5] arene. Supramolecular interaction such as hydrogen bonding and host-guest interaction was utilized for complete diffusion of quintrione over hydrophobic plant surface, further we were also proved by molecular dynamics simulation(MDS). [2] Moreover, complexation of quintrione didn’t affect its pesticidal activity. Our model of supramolecular interaction enhanced spreading of pesticides. It laid a foundation for the use of minimum pesticides.

People have envisioned tiny machines and robots that can explore the human body, find and treat diseases since Richard Feynman’s famous speech, "There’s plenty of room at the bottom," in which the idea of a "swallowable surgeon" was proposed in the 1950 s. Even though we are at a state of infancy to achieve this vision, recent intense progress on nanotechnology, MEMS/NEMS technology and micro-/nanorobotics has accelerated the pace toward the goal. A number of research efforts have been recently published regarding the development of tiny swimming machines/robots from the basic principles and fabrication methods to practical applications. I will present the recent research progress in my lab on using a large number of microrobots [1-6], from the design, magnetic actuation, to perspective of using these small agents for varied potential applications.
