In this research,we design and implement a small,convenient,and noninvasive paper-based microfluidic sweat sensor that can simultaneously detect multiple key biomarkers in human *** origami structure of the chip includes colorimetric and electrochemical sensing *** colorimetric sensing regions are modified with specific chromogenic reagents to selectively identify glucose,lactate,uric acid,and magnesium ions in sweat,as well as the pH *** regions of electrochemical sensing detect cortisol in sweat by molecular *** entire chip is composed of hydrophilically and hydrophobically treated filter paper,and 3D microfluidic channels are constructed by using folding *** thread-based channels formed after the hydrophilic and hydrophobic modifications are used to control the rate of sweat flow,which in turn can be used to control the sequence of reactions in the differently developing colored regions to ensure that signals of the best color can be captured simultaneously by the colorimetric sensing ***,the results of on-body experiments verify the reliability of the proposed sweat sensor and its potential for the noninvasive identification of a variety of sweat biomarkers.

Massive oily wastewater discharged from industrial production and human daily life have been an urgent environmental and ecological *** materials have attracted tremendous attention due to their unique properties and potential applications in the treatment of *** this study,a novel superhydrophobic/superoleophilic composite melamine sponge modified with dual silanized SiO_(2) microspheres was fabricated simply by a two-step sol-gel method using vinyltriethoxysilane and hexadecyltrimethoxysilane as functional agent,which exhibited a water contact angle of 153.2°and a water sliding contact angle of 4.8°.Furthermore,the composite sponge showed the excellent oil adsorption performance and the compressive elasticity reaching up to 130 g·g^(-1) of dichloromethane and 33.1 kPa of compressive *** was worth noting that the composite sponge presented the excellent separation efficiency(up to 99.5%)in the processes of continuous oil/water *** robust superhydrophobic composite melamine sponge provided the possibility with the practical application for oil-water separation.

Phonon modes in spherical Si quantum dots (QDs) with up to 7.9 nm in diameter are calculated by using the projection operators of the group theory into valence force field model. The phonons of dot modes in each of five irreducible representations (symmetries) are classified by using a dual space analysis method. It is found that the bulk-like modes with localization radius much smaller than the dot's radius have clearly pronounced bulk specific-κdefinite bulk band (one in six modes). In Si dots of all sizes, each specific bulk-like dot mode has specific *** dot modes and bulk-like X-derived TA and LA dot modes red-shift in frequency with decreasing dot size. There is almost not LO/TO mixing for bulk-like modes. As for the surface-like modes localized at the periphery of the dot,their eigenmodes have not a dominant bulk specific-κ point parentage or a dominant BZ parentage around some special point. They are a superposition of many bulk bands with κ from all over the bulk BZ. They have much significant mode mixing than the bulk-like phonons. The classification of dot modes based on the symmetry of group theory will bring advantageous to the discussion of Ramam spectrum, electron-phonon interaction and other phonon-assisted effects in QDs.

Increasing the energy density, power density as well as widening the operation voltage are essential to electrochemical capacitors to meet the practical energy demands. Herein, a novel flexible quasi-solid-state dual-ion asymmetric supercapacitor(ASC) with Ni(OH)2 and Nb2O5 nanosheets directly grown on stainless steel mesh is developed. In the dual-ion ASC, Nb2O5 negative and Ni(OH)2 positive electrodes react with Li+ and OH- respectively in alkaline gel electrolyte to store energy, which is quite different from conventional alkali metal ion SCs and alkaline SCs. The as-assembled flexible device has an extended working voltage of 1.7 V and delivers a capacity of 5.37 mAh cm-2, a maximum energy density and power density of 0.52 mWh cm-3 and 170 mW cm-3 , respectively. The device maintains around 60% capacity retention after long cycling up to 1000 cycles. Moreover, our device can light up a LED light efficiently upon fast charging. The proposed quasi-solid-state dual-ion ASC has potential applications in future portable electronics and flexible energy storage devices.

Miniaturized ultrasonic transducer arrays with multiple frequencies are key components in endoscopic photoacoustic imaging(PAI)systems to achieve high spatial resolution and large imaging depth for biomedical *** this article,we report on the development of ceramic thin-film PZT-based dual-and multi-frequency piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer(pMUT)arrays and the demonstration of their PAI *** chips sized 3.5mm in length or 10mm in diameter,square and ring-shaped pMUT arrays incorporating as many as 2520 pMUT elements and multiple frequencies ranging from 1 MHz to 8 MHz were developed for endoscopic PAI *** ceramic PZT with a thickness of 9μm was obtained by wafer bonding and chemical mechanical polishing(CMP)techniques and employed as the piezoelectric layer of the pMUT arrays,whose piezoelectric constant d_(31)was measured to be as high as 140 pm/*** from this high piezoelectric constant,the fabricated pMUT arrays exhibited high electromechanical coupling coefficients and large vibration *** addition to electrical,mechanical,and acoustic characterization,PAI experiments with pencil leads embedded into an agar phantom were conducted with the fabricated dual-and multi-frequency pMUT *** signals were successfully detected by pMUT elements with different frequencies and used to reconstruct single and fused photoacoustic images,which clearly demonstrated the advantages of using dual-and multi-frequency pMUT arrays to provide comprehensive photoacoustic images with high spatial resolution and large signal-to-noise ratio simultaneously.
