Hybrid molecular nanostructures with donor-acceptor chains

We have fabricated hybrid molecular chain structures formed by electron acceptor compound 1 and electron donor molecules 2 and 3 at the liquid/solid interface of graphite *** structural details of the mono-component and the binary assemblies are revealed by high resolution scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).Compound 1 can form two well-ordered lamellar patterns at different *** the co-adsorption structures,compounds 2 and 3 can insert into the space between molecular chains of compound 1 and form large area well-ordered nanoscale phase separated lamellar *** unit cell parameters for the coassemblies can be "flexibly" adjusted to make the electron donors and acceptors perfectly match along the molecular *** tunneling spectroscopy (STS) results indicate that the electronic properties of individual molecular donors and acceptors are preserved in the binary *** results provide molecular insight into the nanoscale phase separation of organic electron acceptors and donors on surfaces and are helpful for the fabrication of surface supramolecular structures and molecular devices.

Photochromic radical states in 3D covalent organic frameworks with zyg topology for enhanced photocatalysis

Covalent-organic frameworks（COFs） with photoinduced donor-acceptor（D-A） radical pairs show enhanced photocatalytic activity in principle. However, achieving long-lived charge separation in COFs proves challenging due to the rapid charge recombination. Here, we develop a novel strategy by combining[6 + 4] nodes to construct zyg-type 3D COFs, first reported in COF chemistry. This structure type exhibits a fused Olympic-rings-like shape, which provides a platform for stabilizing the photoinduced D-A radical pairs. The zyg-type COFs containing catalytically active moieties such as triphenylamine and phenothiazine（PTZ） show superior photocatalytic production rates of hydrogen peroxide（H2O2）. Significantly, the photochromic radical states of these COFs show up to 400% enhancement in photocatalytic activity compared to the parent states, achieving a remarkable H2O2synthesis rate of 3324 μmol g-1h-1, which makes the PTZ-COF one of the best crystalline porous photocatalysts in H2O2production. This work will shed light on the synthesis of efficient 3D COF photocatalysts built on topologies that can facilitate photogenerating D-A radical pairs for enhanced photocatalysis.

Rapid Thermal Annealing of Pr^(3+) and Eu^(3+) Implanted Silicon

Pr ion implanted silicon has two types of electrical behavior under different condition of rapid thermal annealing(RTA).For Pr3+ implanted epitaxial silicon samples with dose 1×1014cm-2 and energy 350 keV,annealing at 940℃.the sample has electron conductivity, and the implanted ion acts as a donor;and the sample annealing at 1240℃ has hole conductivity,and the implanted ion acts as an *** high dose(2×1015 cm-2) Eu3+ implanted epitaxial silicon sample undergoing high temperature RTA treatment,enhanced Raman effect was *** this *** explanations for these two phenomena have been given.
