Calcite cements are volumetrically dominant among the most diagenetic constituents in turbidite sandstones of the Paleogene Shahejie Formation in the Dongying *** results show carbonate cements mainly occur in three phases:Calcite I(pre-compaction),Calcite II(post-compaction)and ankerite in the turbidite *** isotopic composition of Calcite I and Calcite II range from−4.3‰to 4.4‰,−3.5‰to 4.3‰PDB,respectively,suggesting that the calcite cements are mainly derived from the interbedded *** early calcite cement precipitated from the mixing of lacustrine and meteoric waters at 38-69℃.The late-phase calcite precipitated from pore waters modified by water-rock interactions at 64-126℃.Two distribution patterns of calcite cements can be identified,depending on their position within the *** peripheral cementation of the sandstones is near the sand-shale *** development of cement is controlled by sandstone thickness and the properties of the interbedded *** scattered cementation,the distribution of the calcite cement is not controlled by the sand-shale *** cement was preferentially distributed in coarse-grained sandstones,indicating that sandstones with high original permeability are the preferred pathway for the migration of early diagenetic fluids.

At 12:52 pm on September 5,2022,an Ms 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County,Sichuan Province,*** on high-resolution aerial photographs and satellite imageries obtained after the earthquake,as well as field investigation,a total of 8685 earthquake-triggered landslides(EQTLs)were *** landslides covered an area of 30.7km^(2),with a source area of 9.4 km^(2).These EQTLs were mainly distributed in areas with a seismic intensity of VIII and *** of the landslides were small and medium in size,and their types included landslide,rockfall,and rock *** landslide distributions were found,EQTLs were distributed along the Xianshuihe fault,landslide area decreased gradually with an increased distance to the fault;EQTLs were distributed along the Daduhe River and roads;besides,landslide distribution was associated with ground deformation caused by the ***’characteristics indicated that,a large number of EQTLs were located near the foot of the slope;the full area of EQTLs and their source area followed a power *** study concluded that Luding EQTLs were greater in number and area but relatively smaller in terms of affected *** on geo-hazards post-earthquake and risk assessment were proposed in the earthquake-stricken area to support the rehabilitation and reconstruction.

The objectives of this study were to assess distribution patterns of plant species richness,plant diversity and vegetation structure in relation to environmental factors along elevation gradient in Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar,*** each species,its growth form,chorological affinities,degree of occurrence,endemism status and originality were provided.A total of 534 taxa were generated from 70 families of the flowering plants,and 3 of the non-flowering plants were *** native flora of the study area was counted for 80.2%of the total indigenous taxa(465).The hump-shaped pattern of plant species richness was obtained,with the highest species richness at the mid-elevations,and both ends of the gradient have the *** annuals(300 species,56.2%)and non-succulent perennial herbs(165 species,30.9%)were the most dominant growth forms of the total species *** the elevation gradient,Asteraceae,Fabaceae,Poaceae,Lamiaceae and Apiaceae were the dominant families with the highest numbers of *** investigation recorded 31 endemic taxa,comprising 25 dicots and 6 monocots,primarily of Mediterranean origin,with most belonging to the Asteraceae and Lamiaceae *** chorotype was the dominant,whether pure(mono-),or combined with one(bi-and pluri-regional)or more(pluri-regional).Application of cluster analysis on the vegetation data yielded four cluster groups;each was linked to an elevation *** emphasized the importance of establishing conservation strategies to minimize human disturbance and safeguard relic habitats of Juniperus phoenicea *** its southern distribution limits in Africa,underlining the proactive management required for species *** application of Redundancy Analysis revealed that Shannon diversity index(H'),pH and Fe were the determinant soil factor in the mid-elevation levels(L2 and L3)whereas altitude,fine sand,HCO3,OM,and soil contents of Na,SO4 and Cl for the extreme levels(L1 and L4).

Marine protected areas(MPAs)across various countries have contributed to safeguarding coastal and marine *** these efforts,marine non-native species(NNS)continue to threaten biodiversity and ecosystems,even within ***,there is a lack of comprehensive studies on the inventories,distribution patterns,and effect factors of NNS within *** we show a database containing over 15,000 occurrence records of 2714 marine NNS across 16,401 national or regional MPAs *** identify the primary mechanisms driving the occurrence of NNS,we utilize model selection with proxies representing colonization pressure,environmental variables,and MPA *** the environmental predictors analyzed,sea surface temperature emerged as the sole factor strongly associated with NNS *** sea surface temperatures are linked to increased NNS richness,aligning with global marine biodiversity ***,human activities help species overcome geographical barriers and migration ***,this influences the distribution patterns of marine introduced species and associated environmental *** global climate change continues to alter sea temperatures,it is crucial to protect marine regions that are increasingly vulnerable to intense human activities and biological invasions.

As an important herbaceous plant, Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi(Chinese skullcap) is geographically widespread and commonly used throughout the world. In the Chinese medicine market, S. baicalensis has been divided into two primary types, "Ku Qin"(WXR) and "Tiao Qin"(TST). Moreover, TST is also divided into different grades according to the diameter of roots. To explore the distribution patterns of the contents of five biologically activate ingredients(FBAI), we used six-year-old cultivated S. baicalensis and analyzed its growth characteristics as well as the quality difference among different types and diameters in roots. Throughout the entire root, we discovered that contents of the FBAI all initially increased and subsequently decreased from the top to the bottom of the roots. The baicalin content of WXR was less than that of TST. On the contrary, the contents of baicalein, wogonin, and oroxylin A in WXR were up to about two times higher than that in TST. We also found that the 0 to 40 cm part of the S. baicalensis root possessed about 87% of the root biomass and about 92% of the contents of the active ingredients.

We study the characteristics of temperature fluctuation in two-dimensional turbulent Rayleigh–Benard convection in´a square cavity by direct numerical *** Rayleigh number range is 1×10^(8)≤Ra≤1×10^(13),and the Prandtl number is selected as Pr=0.7 and Pr=*** is found that the temperature fluctuation profiles with respect to Ra exhibit two different distribution *** the thermal boundary layer,the normalized fluctuationθrms/θrms,max is independent of Ra and a power law relation is identified,i.e.,θrms/θrms,max∼(z/δ)0.99±0.01,where z/δis a dimensionless distance to the boundary(δis the thickness of thermal boundary layer).Out of the boundary layer,when Ra≤5×10^(9),the profiles ofθrms/θrms,max descend,then ascend,and finally drop dramatically as z/δ*** for Ra≥1×10^(10),the profiles continuously decrease and finally overlap with each *** two different characteristics of temperature fluctuations are closely related to the formation of stable large-scale circulations and corner ***,there is a critical value of Ra indicating the transition,beyond which the fluctuation hθrmsiV has a power law dependence on Ra,given by hθrmsiV∼Ra−0.14±0.01.

The canopy of subtropical natural forests usually consists of several co-dominant populations(CDPs),which play a crucial role in forest structure,formation of the forest environment,and ecological ***,little attention has been given to changes in spatial patterns in CDPs during natural *** glauca(Thunb.)Oerst.,Quercus variabilis Blume,and Pinus yunnanensis *** *** & *** are canopy species that form CDPs in zonal forests along the Nanpan River in southwest *** used the g(r) function and its bivariate distribution model,g_(12)(r),which is based on distances between pairs of points,to explore the dynamics of the three CDP species with respect to distribution patterns and spatial correlations in two secondary forests(one 30-year-old forest [30-YF] and one 57-year-old forest [57-YF]).The following key results were obtained:(1) there was a clumped pattern in the 30-YF,but the intensity of aggregation varied among populations and life *** distribution pattern gradually shifted to become random with longer succes sion time(i.e.,30-YF vs.57-YF),expansion of the observation scale(r=0-20 m),and at later life stages.(2) Aside from the mid-sized *** trees and large *** trees,the trees repulsed each other at certain scales(r=0-2,5-6,11-12,14-16 m) in the *** all of the life stages in the CDPs were independently *** independent correlation was exacerbated by a longer succession time.(3) An increase in life stages and longer succession also promoted independent changes in intraspecific correlations.(4) Intraspecific correlations were stronger than interspecific *** results showed that reducing exclusive competition is essential to coexistence in ***-and intra-specific repulsion may occur at the same time,but intraspecific repulsion was the main driving force behind the random distributions and independent correlations.

To promote the rational development and use of clean coal resources in China, data on the regional and age distribution of sulfur, arsenic and other harmful elements in Chinese coal was broadly collected, tested for content, and analyzed. Coal in northwestern China is characterized by low to extremely low levels of sulfur; the coal of the Taiyuan Formation in northern China mainly has high-sulfur content; that of the Shanxi Formation is mainly characterized by low sulfur coal; and the Late Permian coal in southern China has overall higher sulfur content; other regions have low sulfur coal. The average content of harmful trace elements in the bulk of China＇s coal is similar to the corresponding content in the coal of the North America and the rest of the world, whereas the content of various elements （Hg, Sb and Se） is different in magnitude to the corresponding percentage in the crust. The average content of the elements Cr, Se, Co, Be, U, Br in Late Permian coal in S China ranks first in the country whereas the average content of Hg and CI in the coals of Late Carboniferous to Early Permian age in N China are the highest. The average content of Mn in Early and Middle Jurassic coal is higher in NW China. The high content of harmful elements in some coal should cause particular concern both in the development and utilization of coal.

Improvement on the Effectiveness of Marine Stock Enhancement in the Artificial Reef Area by a New Cage-Based Release Technique

The release technique,affecting the survival rate of fish species released for stock enhancement,plays a vital role in the effectiveness of the *** order to improve the probability of released fish settling down to bottom,a new cage-based release technique was designed and tested via a water tank with artificial reef *** coral reef fish species,Sebastes schlegelii and Paralichthys olivaceus were assessed using this *** behavior and distribution in water tank were recorded and compared with the traditional release release *** showed that in the case of cage-based release technique:1)when the release process is just finished,the distribution index(DI)of juveniles *** and *** were 97.8%and 98.9%at reef area,40%and 71.1%at release point,respectively,which was higher than those using two alternative techniques;2)its impact duration was less than that in the other two conditions,where the DI within 4 hours was higher after releasing,especially for *** findings indicated that the new cage-based technique could release the fish into the specified location,and has a potential to mitigate the stress reaction of fish caused by releasing process.
