Picosecond dissipative soliton generation from an ytterbium‑doped fber laser based on a BP/SnSe_(2)‑PVA mixture saturable absorber

Stable picosecond dissipative soliton pulses were observed in an ytterbium-doped fber laser employing a high-quality mixture of BP/SnSe_(2)-PVA saturable absorber(SA).The modulation depth,saturation intensity,and non-saturable loss of the mixture of BP/SnSe_(2)-PVA SA were measured with values of 5.98%,18.37 MW/cm2,and 33%,*** the pump power range of 150–270 mW,stable dissipative soliton pulses were obtained with an output power of 1.68–4 *** the minimum pulse duration is 1.28 ps,a repetition rate of 0.903 MHz,center wavelength of 1064.38 nm and 3 dB bandwidth of 2 nm were *** maximum pulse energy of 4.43 nJ and the signal-to-noise ratio up to 72 dB were achieved at pump power of 270 *** results suggest that the BP/SnSe_(2)-PVA mixture SA has outstanding nonlinear saturable absorption characteristics and broad ultrafast laser applications.

A semi-analytical approach for the pulsating solutions of the 3D complex Cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau Equation (CGLE) is presented in this article. A collective variable approach is used to obtain a system of variational equations which give the evolution of the light pulses parameters as a function of the propagation distance. The collective coordinate approach is incomparably faster than the direct numerical simulation of the propagation equation. This allows us to obtain, efficiently, a global mapping of the 3D pulsating soliton. In addition it allows describing the influence of the parameters of the equation on the various physical parameters of the pulse and their dynamics.

By using the three-dimensional complex Ginzburg--Landau equation with cubic--quintic nonlinearity, this paper numerically investigates the interactions between optical bullets with different velocities in a dissipative system. The results reveal an abundance of interesting behaviours relating to the velocities of bullets： merging of the optical bullets into a single one at small velocities; periodic collisions at large velocities and disappearance of two bullets after several collisions in an intermediate region of velocity. Finally, it also reports that an extra bullet derives from the collision of optical bullets when optical bullets are at small velocities but with high energies.

The dispersive Fourier transform technique provides feasibility of exploring non-repetitive events and the buildup process in ultrafast *** this paper,we report a new buildup process of dissipative solitons in a simplified mode-locked Yb-doped fiber laser,which includes more complex physics stages such as the Q-switching stage,raised and damped relaxation oscillation stages,noise-like stage,successive soliton explosions stage,and soliton breathing *** evolution dynamics of noise-like pulse and double pulse are also investigated with dispersive Fourier *** the noise-like pulse dynamics process,it will only experience the Q-switching and relaxation oscillation *** the case of dissipative soliton and noise-like pulse,the double pulse buildup behavior is manifested as the replication of individual pulses.A weak energy migration occurs between two pulses before reaching steady ***,real-time mutual conversion of the dissipative soliton and noise-like pulse has been experimentally observed,which appears to be instantaneous without extra physical *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first report on these physical phenomena observed together in a mode-locked fiber *** results further enrich the dynamics of mode-locked fiber lasers and provide potential conditions for obtaining intelligent mode-locked lasers with controllable output.

Wavelength-tunable dissipative solitons and amplifier similaritons have been obtained by inserting all-fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI) filters with different free spectral ranges(FSRs) in a Yb-doped mode-locked fiber *** MZI filter is fabricated by splicing one segment of seven-core fiber(SCF) between two segments of single-mode *** bandwidth of the filter depends on the FSR of the modulated interference curve and consequently depends on the tapered fiber *** MZI filters with bandwidths in a fiber laser and applying a tensile strain on the tapered SCF,both wavelengthtunable dissipative solitons and amplifier similaritons have been obtained.

In this paper,we have proposed and demonstrated the generation of passively mode-locked pulses and dissipative soliton resonance in an erbium-doped fiber laser based on Fe3O4 nanoparticles as saturable *** obtained self-starting mode-locked pulses with fundamental repetition frequency of 7.69 MHz and center wavelength of 1561 *** output of a pulsed laser has spectral width of 0.69 nm and pulse duration of 14 ns with rectangular pulse profile at the pump power of 190 *** far as we know,this is the first time that Fe3O4 nanoparticles have been developed as low-dimensional materials for passive mode-locking with rectangular *** experiments have confirmed that Fe3O4 has a wide prospect as a nonlinear photonics device for ultrafast fiber laser applications.
