disruptions in the manufacturing process cast substantial impacts on the consumer’s centric values,cost,and overall efficiency.The ripple effect of these disruptions is observed in the whole assembly line.The proper analysis and mitigation of disruptions is the key to the proficiency of the plant and resource utilisation.The research focuses on the quantitative analysis of the impact of disruptions of the manufacturing process,which is performed by analysing the disruptive workstation dynamically.The disruptive workstations have a significant impact on succeeding and preceding workstations,which have been analysed dynamically,and accordingly,the preset alarm trip points are elevated.The results show that lowering the number of starts and stops decreases the number of rejections of valuable process batches that finally improve efficiency.Finally,the developed model is implemented on a polycrystalline diamond compact drill bit manufacturing plant.The results are compared with the research work of other researchers,showing a 60%reduction in the number of start/stop events,60%reduction in downtime,while a 75%reduction in the number of rejections is noted.

The concepts of business continuity management,operational resilience,and organizational resilience each refer to actions that businesses and organizations can take in anticipating and responding to disruptions.However,the existing definitions and usages are difficult to differentiate due to overlapping objectives,implementation processes,and outcomes.This article examines definitions and approaches for these three concepts and suggest a framework to operationalize methods and tools relevant to each.These definitions emphasize three dyads:risk versus resilience;organizational processes versus assets;and normal operating conditions versus crisis conditions.Using these dyads to differentiate the concepts of business continuity management,operational resilience,and organizational resilience can support planners in clarifying objectives and identifying which approach will be most beneficial as businesses or organizations plan for and encounter disruptions.This article evaluates these concepts by examining illustrative examples of disruptions and responses.

The cyclic set of natural transfers of carbon (also called: Global Carbon Cycle) is built with the following physicochemical and bacteriological processes: 1) atmosphere to green plants or soil transfers;2) animals or plants to atmosphere transfers;3) burning fossil fuels to atmosphere transfers;4) animals (including humans) to soil transfers;5) atmosphere to oceans transfers, etc. This whole cycle (despite its obvious complexity), is a formal proof that disturbances recorded by carbon cycle described above, inevitably alter the chemical composition of the atmosphere and, therefore, lead to climate change whose magnitude depends on the sensitivity of the atmosphere relative to the changed settings. The weather models used to assess climate change caused by CFCs, have the annoying tendency to neglect the contribution of clouds to the global carbon balance. Yet it has been proven by C. Mbane in 2015 that clouds are composed of only two elements (dry air and saturated water vapor);and that clouds’ saturated water vapor may form precipitation (solid or liquid) if and only if they met and dissolve condensation nuclei (mainly the carbon dioxide (CO2) in the case of Troposphere). In other words, atmosphere absorbs a significant amount of CO2 in the formation of rains. The purpose of our work is to make it clear to the international opinion that cloud’s saturated water vapor is the true lung of our planet, far ahead of the green plants respiration or photosynthesis those take place only under the influence of sunlight and in the very lower layers of the troposphere (e.g., well below 25 meters from the surface of the earth). Each of us could then easily understand the link between GCCD (Global Carbon Cycle disruptions) and the upsurge of WCWSWHR (weather conditions with strong winds and heavy rains).

Transportation is a key to the economy and production;it makes mobility more accessible and enhances the social and economic interactions.On the other hand,the increase of urban population,pollution and other negative impacts directly compromise the existing transportation systems and endanger the future transportation systems in developing countries.This paper examines chaos as the challenge facing urban transportation in Tanzania cities and provides some suggestions to reduce the existing problem.This has been done by looking at the design and plan of the Tanzania cities,coordination of transportation systems and car dependency.Environmental and social impacts which include congestions,air pollution,traffic accidents and energy consumption have been described.Suggestions for addressing the challenges facing urban transportation in developed countries like Tanzania have been examined by adopting the holistic approach.Such approach has shown to be effective in solving the challenges facing urban transportation in the cities of developing countries such as improving public transport,provision of off-street parking,enforcement of traffic laws and regulations and restrict car use.Moreover,approaches to alleviate challenges facing urban transportation should be designed for specific cities and urban transport planners must understand that models and solutions used for cities in the developed countries may not be applicable to cities of developing countries.

The worldwide change and transformations are taking place in socio-techno cultures. In the epicenter of all these Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), the Internet is the backbone and paving salient communications and computations Medias like the emergence of social networking sites (SNSs). These SNSs are facilitating globalized entertainment, socialization, communications, and information sharing over hand-held electronic gazettes/mobiles like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Skype, and WhatsApp etc. The positive side of these SNSs is making the world a social village but apart from these positive aspects, there is another trait of multifold adversities/disruptions or negative effects which still have not been exposed and drawn attention. The remedial action for such adversities is needed to be designed and developed. The all age groups and genders are typically involved and resulting in wastage of time, money and peace of minds. The adverse effects of social media users in a Higher Learning Institutions are getting worse day-by-day. The prime aim of this research study is to design an automatic Surveillance System Framework for alleviation of the social media disruptions in these institutions. This framework aims to design and develop a surveillance system and access control guidelines for judiciously alleviating the misuse of social media. The study used MS form, Protopie, adobe XD and InVision for data collection, framework design and prototype development respectively. This research is an attempt to apply an explanatory and applied research design science approach using survey, interviews and technical observations-based primary data analytics. The study concluded with a cloud-based automatic surveillance, auto alerts and control system framework (DPS-KA-AT) and functionally validated by a system framework prototype. In the survey and interview, the 66% respondents’ response was “YES”, while 34% “NO” when enquired for the need assessment of the automatic surveillance and control system towards all

This paper introduces the notion of Tokamak Magneto-Hydrodynamics （TMHD）, which explicitly reflects the anisotropy of a high temperature tokamak plasma. The set of TMHD equations is formulated for simulation of macroscopic plasma dynamics and disruptions in tokamaks. Free from the Courant restriction on the time step, this set of equations is adequate to plasma dynamics with realistic parameters of high performance plasmas and does not require any extension of the MHD plasma model. At the same time, TMHD requires the use of magnetic field aligned numerical grids. Examples of their use in 2-dimensional cases of tokamak equilibria and dynamics of the wall touching kink mode are presented. For the 3-dimensional case of an ergodic magnetic field, this paper introduces the reference magnetic coordinates as a practical algorithm for generating adaptive grids for TMHD.

The striking vastness of the world’s largest surface freshwater resource, the Laurentian Great Lakes, has generated the fallacy that they are not highly vulnerable to climate change. This fallacy has created a great lapse in our research and understanding of the effects of climate change on the Great Lakes, which are approaching critical environmental thresholds and jeopardizing ecosystem services. This article takes the novel approach of correcting the disconnect between the perception of vastness and the reality of vulnerability to climate change in the Great Lakes, and takes an additional novel step to link the water risks with the economic risks. The primary purpose is to demonstrate the interdependence of the freshwater ecosystem services affected by climate change with the economies that are highly dependent on those freshwater services in the Great Lakes region. Although many believe that environmental science or ethical arguments should be sufficient to warrant action on climate change, evidence shows that policy-makers are not compelled to generate advances unless there are strong economic components. This article highlights the leading edge of climate science for the Great Lakes, having conducted 32 in depth interviews with experts in microbiology, ecology, and limnology, among others, but it also adds substantively to previous work by providing economic evidence of water risks in the agricultural sector and energy sector, which constitute over $6 trillion in value and jobs that are specifically dependent on lakes waters. The article concludes by articulating three specific conclusions: the economic viability of the agricultural sector and the energy sector are jeopardized by loss of federal funding for climate change adaptation in the water sector;the existing policies such as between sectors such as the Farm Bill and Energy Future Bill are mal-aligned and should be aligned with the water sector;and negative environmental externalities including factors that exacerbate climate change should be incorpor

公交系统在实际运营过程中经常受到车辆故障、交通拥堵以及客流量增加等因素的干扰，造成异常车次的产生，并以延误车次和临时新增车次最为常见。在制定公交车辆调度计划时，预先考虑可能发生的干扰，可以提高调度计划的鲁棒性，降低恢复正常运营的成本。本文针对公交车辆调度计划的制定问题，考虑延误车次和新增车次两种受扰车次，提出重新分配车次和调整车次发车时间两种恢复策略，建立考虑异常车次的车辆调度模型，以提供鲁棒性较强的车辆调度计划，并设计了一个基于行列生成算法的启发式算法进行求解。在求解过程中，原问题被分解为主问题和三个子问题，并分别使用Bellman-Ford算法求解初始线路、使用标号法求解修正线路，以及使用禁忌搜索算法提高求解效率。最后，一系列的对比实验表明，本文提出的模型可以提供更具鲁棒性的公交车辆调度计划方案，能够减少干扰场景下车次的调整次数，对减轻公交调度管理人员的工作复杂性具有帮助作用。
