An improved teaching-learning-based optimization algorithm named NTLBO is proposed for IIR digital design in this paper. Conventional mathematical methods have failed when reduced order adaptive models were used for the purposes of identification of problems. NTLBO utilizes a multi-learning strategy and opposition learning to overcome this disadvantage of the basic TLBO. The quasi-opposition-based learning has been applied to increase the diversity of solutions and broaden the search space to improve the global search ability. The multi-learning strategy makes local search more effective so as to speed up the convergence. To make a tradeoff between exploration and exploitation properly, the teaching factor is redesigned to increase the likelihood of solutions jumping out of local optima. Experiments are carried out on the classical examples and comparisons are made as well. The results indicate that the NTLBO algorithm achieved preferable performance in both reduced and same order models of ⅡR digital filters.

This paper presents an application of variable infinite impulse response （IIR） digital filters based on the Constantinides frequency transformation to adaptive filtering. We propose a new unified framework for adaptive detection of narrowband signals using variable band-stop IIR digital filters with arbitrary transfer functions. It is also shown that our proposed method includes the all-pass-based adaptive notch filters as a special case. A simulation example demonstrates the utility of our proposed method from the viewpoint of the signalto-noise ratio （SNR） improvement. This result shows that the Constantinides frequency transformation plays significant roles in not only the filter design, but also the adaptive signal processing.

A Very Efficient Approach for the Synthesis of 2-D Recursive Fan filters

In this paper, we present a very efficient approath for the synthesis of twodimensional (2-D) re-cursive fan filters based on 1-D filter design. The investigation of the elliptical approximation theory mekesit possible to decompose a 1-D analogue filter into a series-parallel combination of all-pass sections. The 1-Ddigital filter obtained from this decomposition, while used as the prototype for 2-D filter synthesis, results ina grearly simplified realization architecture for fan filters. The final transfer function of the fan filter,which is reduced lo a combination of several lower-order all-pass sections, not only has fewer coefficients butalso enjoys optimal magnitude response. Some illustrative examples are given in this paper to show the effec-tiveness and simplicity of the proposed method.

A Method to Reconstruct Nth-Order Periodically Nonuniform Sampled Signals

It is well known that nonuniform sampling is usually needed in special signals processing. In this paper, a general method to reconstruct Nth-order periodically nonuniform sampled signals is presented which is also developed to digital domain, and the designs of the digital filters and the synthesis system are given. This paper extends the studies of Kohlenberg, whose work concentrate on the periodically nonuniform sampling of second order, as well as the studies of ***, ***, whose work deal with the problems of two-band signals’ Nth-order sampling and reconstruction.

＜正＞digital filters that use the delta operator have been shown to be less sensitive to filter coefficient quantization than filters using the shift operator when the poles and zeroes lie near the point z=±*** is customary to simply round the prototype filter coefficients to the nearest fixed-point numbers for the *** this paper,we show that when very few bits are allocated for each coefficient in a delta filter,some other quantized point than the directly rounded point is likely to offer magnitude response that more closely matches the required characteristics. Furthermore,a neighborhood search may even find a solution that fulfills the given specifications with fewer bits than by using direct *** is of particular importance in Application-Specific Integrated Circuit implementations where expensive die area can be saved by using fewer bits to represent a *** experiments also confirm the result that delta parameterization regularly requires at least two or three bits less than shift parameterization to fulfill the same narrowband filter specifications.

In modern communication systems, filtering is the most common and extremely important signal processing technology, it is an effective method of interference suppression, and the design of filter has become the core issues of the signal processing. Generally speaking, filter can be divided into analog filter and digital filter. Today, the development of analog filter has been more mature. However, digital filter has many advantages, such as higher stability, higher precision. With the development of digital technology, using digital technology to realize filter function is widely used. Then this paper analyzes the design principle of digital filter, and introduced the impulse invariance method and window function method. This paper presents a new design of a effective IIR filter, which realized via two methods. MATLAB is a popular numerical analysis software, providing a wealth of design tool. A MATLAB-based digital filter design procedure designs the filter, and mainly analyzes the 5-order IIR filter, which is designed using Simulink. Through the MATLAB visualization procedures given the frequency characteristic curve, comparing the simulation results. It has the high practical value.
