A persistent challenge for Oman's energy infrastructure was the deafening rumble of diesel generators. The Silent generator Project addressed this challenge, developing advanced generators that deliver power quietly and efficiently. diesel generators have historically been notorious for being noisy and vibrational, making them unsuitable for sensitive environments. To dramatically reduce noise levels, the project utilized innovative materials and design modifications to ensure reliable and quiet electricity for various applications. In all directions, the project advanced the knowledge of noise reduction through rigorous testing and meticulous integration of insulators and mufflers. As a result, quieter, more sustainable energy production is on the way, marking a major advance in silent generator technology. Furthermore, the Silent generator Project lays the foundation for more efficient and environmentally friendly diesel generator technologies in the future. As a result of this research, a new standard for quieter, greener energy generation is established, demonstrating the critical role noise reduction plays in energy generation. Additionally, this work also suggests future diesel generator technologies that are more efficient and environmentally friendly. Optimal Energy Management and Techno-economic Analysis in Microgrid with Hybrid Renewable Energy Sources

Microgrids with hybrid renewable energy sources are increasing and it is a promising solution to electrify remote areas where distribution network expansion is not feasible or not *** microgrids with environment-friendly hybrid energy sources is a cost-effective solution that ensures system reliability and energy *** paper determines the optimal capacity,energy dispatching and techno-economic benefits of standalone microgrid in remote area in Tamilnadu,*** with hybrid energy sources comprising photovoltaic(PV),wind turbine(WT),battery energy storage system(BESS)and diesel generator(DG)are considered in this *** case studies are implemented with hybrid energy sources and for each case study a comparative analysis of techno-economic benefits is *** different configurations of hybrid energy sources are modeled with renewable fractions of 50%,60%,65%,and 100%,*** optimization analysis is carried out using Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable(HOMER)*** of demand response is also demonstrated on energy dispatching and technoeconomic *** results are obtained for the optimal capacity of PV,WT,DG,converter,and BESS,charging/discharging pattern,state of charge(SOC),net present cost(NPC),cost of energy(COE),initial cost,operation cost,fuel cost,greenhouse gas emission penalty and payback period considering seasonal load *** is observed that PV+BESS is the most economical *** in standalone microgrid is higher than the conventional grid *** results show that CO2 emissions in hybrid PV+WT+DG+BESS are reduced by about 68%compared with the traditional isolated distribution system with DG.

Air pollutants and greenhouse gases emission inventory for power plants in the Antarctic

Emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere in Antarctica from power plants with diesel generators(the main sources of energy at Antarctic research stations and the main stationary sources of anthropogenic emissions in the Antarctic)were assessed.A bottom-up approach was used to compile an emission inventory for the *** involved estimating emissions at various spatial levels by sequentially aggregating estimate emissions from point emission *** is the first time this approach has been proposed and *** of CO2,NOx,particulate matter(PM10),and CO in the modern period were estimated at the research station,geographic region,natural domain,biogeographic region,continent section,and whole continent *** emissions are presented here,but the approach allows emissions at different averaging periods to be *** means mean or maximum yearly,monthly,daily,or hourly emissions can be *** estimates could be used to model pollutant transmission and dispersion,assess the impacts of pollutants,and develop emission forecasts for various scenarios.

Pakistan is a developing country which unfortunately has been suffering from large power outages. These have hampered the growth of the country and have depleted the economy. Pakistan however is blessed with an abundance of solar energy. This solar energy needs to be integrated with the electrical grid. The decrease in cost globally in the cost of PV panels provides an opportunity from small scale consumers to produce their own energy to meet some portion of their energy demands. If these PV units can be integrated with the grid it will mean a decrease in cost for the small scale consumer because they will not have to invest capital in purchasing an energy storage system. However severe power outages provide a challenge, because during power outages the PV units will be need to be disconnected to ensure that islanding phenomena does not occur. Also there needs to be developed a control strategy that when there is no grid present the loads which are not necessary (for example water pumps) need to become disconnected from the grid so that unnecessary loading does not occur.The virtual power plant is an emerging concept which has the capability to allow geographically dispersed distributed generation sources to become integrated with the grid and while also allowing for the control of load operational timings. In this research a study is conducted on integrating PV units with the LV network in Pakistan by using a virtual power plant model. The virtual plant power plant model in this research consists of two tiers, tier one is central virtual power plant while tier two is local virtual power plant. The central virtual power plant is responsible for ensuring that the load shedding duration timings are transferred to the local virtual power plants, it is also responsible for disconnecting the loads which are not part of the virtual power plant contractual agreement. In this research these loads are modeled as fixed loads and it ensures that no reverse power flow occur
