Climate warming and the increased demand in air travels motivate the aviation industry to urgently produce technological *** of the most promising innovations is based on the smoothly continuous morphing leading-edge *** study proposes a two-step process for the design of a morphing leading-edge,including the optimization of the outer variable-thickness composite compliant skin and the optimization of the inner kinematic *** the compliant skin design,an optimization of the variable thickness composite skin is proposed based on a laminate continuity model,with laminate continuity constraint and other manufacturing *** laminate continuity model utilizes a guiding sequence and a ply-drop sequence to describe the overall stacking sequence of plies in different thickness regions of the complaint *** the inner kinematic mechanism design,a coupled four-bar linkage system is proposed and optimized to produce specific trajectories at the actuation points on the stringer hats of the compliant skin,which ensures that the compliant skin can be deflected into the aerodynamically optimal ***,a morphing leading-edge is manufactured and *** results are compared with numerical predictions,confirming the feasibility of the morphing leading-edge concept and the overall proposed design approach.

Membrane technologies are becoming increasingly versatile and helpful today for sustainable *** Learning(ML),an essential branch of artiﬁcial intelligence(AI),has substantially impacted the research and development norm of new materials for energy and *** review provides an overview and perspectives on ML methodologies and their applications in membrane design and dis-covery.A brief overview of membrane technologies isﬁrst provided with the current bottlenecks and potential *** an appli-cations-based perspective of AI-aided membrane design and discovery,we further show how ML strategies are applied to the membrane discovery cycle(including membrane material design,membrane application,membrane process design,and knowledge extraction),in various membrane systems,ranging from gas,liquid,and fuel cell separation ***,the best practices of integrating ML methods and speciﬁc application targets in membrane design and discovery are presented with an ideal paradigm *** challenges to be addressed and prospects of AI applications in membrane discovery are also highlighted in the end.

design of Gas Turbine Fuel Gas Transmission Pipe Under the Condition of Natural Gas Mixed with Hydrogen Gas

[Introduction] With the development of "3060" double carbon target, the usage of the PV and wind power for hydrogen gas production is becoming a hot and cutting-edge direction. The combustion of natural gas mixed with hydrogen gas in gas turbine of hydrogen gas industry will become the final step to convert hydrogen into electric power. The gas turbine unit have pressure regulation station, front module and connection pipe. The front module have requirements on the flow rate, pressure, temperature and particle content. And the pressure regulation station will provide the required mixed gas to front module. The connection pipe will have a length of 1 000 m which depended on the different arrangement. The character of pressure drop and temperature drop of connection pipe will have direct impact on the interface parameter of pressure regulation station. So it is necessary to study the character of pressure drop and temperature drop of connection pipe. And it will provide a practicable solution for the future gas turbine fired with natural gas mixed with hydrogen gas. [Method] The fuel demand was given for the H class gas turbine fired with mixture of natural gas and hydrogen gas after the simulation calculation with GT Pro software. The recommended material selection and velocity selection were presented based on required temperature and pressure drop by H class gas turbine front module and the physical character of mixed gas. The pipe pressure drop and temperature drop due to pressure drop were also calculated. [Result] The pipe material selection, diameter selection, pipe pressure drop and temperature drop due to pressure drop of pipe are presented. [Conclusion] For present time, the pipe design between natural gas pressure regulation station and gas turbine front module shall evaluate the material, outer diameter, wall thickness, velocity, pipe resistance, etc., each by each under the condition with hydrogen gas mixture. AAK Theorem and a design of Multidimensional BIBO Stable Filters

Rational approximation theory occupies a significant place in signal processing and systems theory. This research paper proposes an optimal design of BIBO stable multidimensional Infinite Impulse Response filters with a realizable (rational) transfer function thanks to the Adamjan, Arov and Krein (AAK) theorem. It is well known that the one dimensional AAK results give the best approximation of a polynomial as a rational function in the Hankel semi norm. We suppose that the Hankel matrix associated to the transfer function has a finite rank.

The aim of this study was to design a new emulsion liquid membrane(ELM)system for the separation of succinic acid from aqueous *** concentration of succinic acid varied from 20 to 60 mmol·L^(-1).The prepared ELM system includes tributylamine(TBA)as a carrier,commercial kerosene as a solvent,Span 80 as a surfactant,and Na2CO3as a stripping *** order to control the membrane swelling,different values of cyclohexanone were added to the membrane *** effect of various empirical variables on the extraction of the succinic acid such as acid concentration in the feed solution,initial feed concentration,carrier concentration,the stirring speed of the extraction,Na2CO3,surfactant,and cyclohexanone concentrations,and treat ratio in the ELM *** best result was obtained when TBA was used as the *** final acid extraction efficiency was independent of pH variations of the aqueous feed *** extraction of succinic acid solution with a concentration of 40 mmol·L^(-1)was improved by increasing the treat ratio 1:7-1:3,stripping phase concentration 0.5-1.5 mol·L^(-1),stirring speed 300-500 r·min^(-1)and cyclohexanone concentration in the membrane phase 1.2-1.6 mol·L^(-1).No considerable effect on the extraction rate was observed for the carrier concentration in the membrane ***,the surfactant concentration in the feed phase showed a dual effect on the extraction efficiency.

Environmentally Responsible Lightweight Passenger Vehicle design and Manufacturing

The mass reduction of passenger vehicles has been a great focus of academic research and federal policy initiatives of the United States with coordinated funding efforts and even a focus of a Manufacturing USA *** potential benefit of these programs can be described as modest from a societal point of view,for example reducing vehicle mass by up to 25%with modest cost implications(under$5 per pound saved)and the ability to implement with existing manufacturing *** more aggressive reductions in greenhouse gas production are necessary and possible,while delivering the same *** is demonstrated with a higher-level design thinking exercise on an environmentally responsible lightweight vehicle,leading to the following criteria:lightweight,low aerodynamic drag,long-lived(over 30 years and 2 million miles),adaptable,electric,and used in a shared manner on average over 8 h per *** these specifications,passenger-mile demand may be met with around 1/10 of the current *** vehicles would likely have significantly different designs and construction than incumbent *** is likely future automotive production will be more analogous to current aircraft produc-tion with higher costs per pound and lower volumes,but with dramatically reduced financial and environmental cost per passenger mile,with less material per vehicle,and far less material required in the national or worldwide *** benefits of this vision include far fewer parking lots,greater accessibility to personal transportation,and improved pedestrian safety,while maintaining a vibrant and engaging *** systemic changes to the business models and research and development directions(including lightweight design and manufacturing)are discussed,which could bring forth far more sustainable personal transportation.
