Performance of orthogonal STBC-MIMO with variable-power adaptive modulation and delayed feedback in Nakagami fading channels

A variable-power(VP)adaptive modulation(AM)scheme with space-time block code(STBC)is developed in MIMO systems,and the corresponding performance is investigated in Nakagami fading channels.The optimum switching thresholds are derived so that the spectrum efciency(SE)under an average power and a target bit error rate(BER)constraint is maximized.By the switching thresholds,average BER and SE are further derived.As a result,closed-form expressions are obtained.Besides,the exact and approximate BER expressions of VP AM and constant-power(CP)AM systems with delayed feedback are respectively derived.Simulation results show that the theoretical SE and BER can match the corresponding simulation well.The results indicate that VP-AM with STBC provide higher spectrum efciency than the CP counterparts,and has slighter bite error rate performance degradation when the normalized delay is less than 0.01.

Many neurological diseases are suggested to be caused by pathologically strong synchronization of neurons in cerebral cortex. A large-scale cortical network consisted of one-dimensional two-layer array of excitatory pyramidal neurons and inhibitory interneurons, is constructed based on the map-based neuron model. When the coupling strength between neurons exceeds a critical value, the cortical network exhibits synchronous activity, manifesting a large-amplitude oscillatory mean field activity. Suppression of such synchronized behavior of the cortical network using linear delayed feedback control is investigated. Numerical simulation results demonstrate that effective synchronization suppression can be realized as soon as the delayed feedback signal is administered.

The passivity and feedback passification of T-S fuzzy systems with norm bounded uncertainties are considered.Attention is focused on the design of memoryless and delayed feedback controllers because the kinds of controllers have not been fully investigated.An appropriate selection of Lyapunov-Krasovskii function and introduction of free weighting matrices,which make the obtained condition less conservative,generalize sufficient conditions.In terms of a linear matrix inequality（LMI）,we obtain delay-dependent sufficient conditions which guarantees the passivity based stabilization of the closed-loop system for all admissible uncertainties.A numerical example is given to show the correctness and effectiveness of our theoretical results.

This paper deals with the problem of stabilization for Takagi-Sugeno（T-S）fuzzy systems with quantized and delayed feedback.By means of the Lyapunov functional approach,sufficient conditions are presented such that,under the action of a quantized and delayed state feedback controller,the resultant closed-loop system is input-to-state stable.The numerical examples of quantized stabilization illustrate the efficiency of the method.

＜正＞According to the characteristic of the method of control chaos by self-feedback and period signal, the new method of adaptive delayed control by self-feedback has made. In practice, ones only give certain initial values of delayed time and signal gain, avoiding the clumsy process of determining the control parameter prior. Applying the method into Rossler system and two-degree-of-freedom airfoil system, numerical calculation indicates that the method can effectively control chaos, whether state variable or systemic parameter, and can effectively shorten control time.

As a classical technique for chaos suppression,the time-delayed feedback controlling strategy has been widely developed by stabilizing unstable periodic orbits(UPOs)embedded in chaotic systems.A critical issue for achieving high controlling precision is to search for an appropriate time delay.This paper proposes a simple yet effective approach,based on incremental harmonic balance method,to determine the optimal time delay in the delayed feedback controller.The time delay is adjusted within the iterative scheme provided by the proposed method,and finally converges to the period of the target UPO.As long as the optimal time delay is fixed,moreover,the attained solution makes it quite convenient to analyze its stability according to the Floquet theory,which further provides the effective interval of the feedback gain.

Cooperative driving with V2V communication is under extensive investigation,because of its potential to increase the safety,reliability,connectivity,and autonomy of transportation systems.This paper studies the problem of connected cruise control（CCC） for a platoon of human-driven and autonomous vehicles.Motional data,such as distance and velocity information,are transmitted by vehicle-to-vehicle（V2V） communication between connected vehicles.Taking into account the communication latency and unpredictable behavior in the leading vehicle,we formulate the CCC problem as an adaptive optimal control problem with input delay and disturbance.A novel data-driven control solution is proposed for the vehicle platoon,which guarantees that each vehicle can achieve safe distance and desired common velocity.Incorporating adaptive dynamic programming technique with sampled-data system theory,a data-driven adaptive optimal controller is learned from sampled data,without the knowledge of the human or vehicle dynamics of the platooning vehicles.Stability and robustness analyses are provided by means of inputto-state stability theory.Numerical results confirm the efficacy of our method.

In this paper, the He’s parameter-expanding method (HPEM) and the 4q-Boubaker Polynomials Expansion Scheme (BPES) are used in order to obtain analytical solutions to the non-linear modified Van der Pol’s oscillating circuit equation. The resolution protocols are applied to the ordinary Van der Pol equation, which annexed to conjoint delayed feedback and delay-related damping terms. The results are plotted, and compared with exact solutions proposed elsewhere, in order to evaluate accuracy.

Our focus is on a non-linear, time delayed, fluid model for Compound TCP （C-TCP） which is widely implemented in the current Internet. We couple this model with a Drop-Tail queue policy, currently deployed in routers, in two different limiting regimes: a small buffer and an intermediate buffer regime. We consider a topology where two distinct sets of long lived Compound flows, each regulated by separate edge routers, merge at a common core network router. For both the small and the intermediate router buffer regimes, we derive explicit analytical conditions under which synchronisation would occur between the two competing sets of TCP flows. The conditions are made explicit in terms of a coupling strength, which depends on Compound parameters and on network parameters like the feedback delay, link capacity and router buffer sizes. Variations in the coupling strength can lead to the emergence of deterministic, nonlinear, oscillations in the form of limit cycles in the queue size. Our analytical results are corroborated with packet-level simulations. With Drop-Tail, small buffers were found to be preferable over intermediate buffers;they can ensure both low latency and stable queues, at least in high speed networks.
