Development of green urbanization under the guidance of deep ecology

At present, green urbanization process is in the initial state in China. In the process of development, how to promote urban development and urbanization will highly integrated. And the ecological environment protection and economic development is an urgent problem to be solved. Based on the guidance of deep ecology, this paper studies the development process of green urbanization; and literature review method and exemplification method are adopted. Firstly, the concept of green urbanization is demonstrated. Secondly, combined with the current situation of green urbanization in China, guided by analysis of deep ecology, the challenge for the development of urbanization is analysed. Finally, based on the deep ecology guided by revelation, the green urbanization path is put forward.

Ecological Reenchantment： Interpretation on The Little Prince from the Perspective of deep ecology

Antoine de Saint-Exupe ry＇ s masterpiece The Little Prince directed by Mark Osborne has been well-received by audience in China and beyond since its debut. This fantastic adaptation of movie explores the essence of life from children＇ s eye by adding Hollywood elements, criticizing the adult world characterized by hypocrisy, emptiness, indifference, obsession and alienation. That is how grow-ups live in crisis in their ecological spirit. This paper seeks to explore the reenchanting journey of the leading roles from the perspective of deep ecology, showcasing the necessity for human being to build a reenchanting world so as to promote the harmonious relationship between the people and nature.

A deep-Ecological Reading of William Wordsworth＇s Poetry

From the 1960s, the increasingly serious ecological crisis gave rise to ecocriticism. William Wordsworth （1770-1850）, a representative of romantic poets, composes substantial poems to eulogize nature and to encourage equality and harmony between nature and human beings. From the angle of deep ecology, a branch of ecological study, this paper aims to analyze the ecological consciousness conveyed in Wordsworth＇s poetry. It analyzes the adverse impacts of industrialization on nature and man in Wordsworth＇s poetry. It elaborates further on ecological thoughts in Wordsworth＇s poetry. And finally, it summarizes how Wordsworth criticizes industrialization in his poetry and how he expresses his ecological thoughts--ecological equilibrium, social equality and harmony, and nature preservation

A deep Ecological Review on“The Adamic”

Re-examined from the principles of deep ecology initiated by Arne Naess,Walt Whitman’s treatment of his 16 poems under the title of“Children of Adam”towards nature violates sustainability and the harmony between man and *** of all,the elitism of the new Adam is far away from the man-in-environment image advocated by deep ***,the unrestrained seed-spreading that Whitman boosts in his“spermatic trope”doesn’t take into account the rights to subsistence of myriad species of life and women’s right of ***,in Whitman’s eyes,nature is lack of diversity and richness and his“omnisexual vision”has overlooked the diverse values of nature in themselves.

The Bhumisukta Revisited in the Background of Contemporary Environmentalism

In this paper I like to revisit Bhumisukta of the Atharvaveda in the backdrop of present-day environmentalism. It is divided into three parts. In Part 1 I like to give a synoptic view of contemporary environmentalism, as reflected in Arne Naess＇s deep ecology. In Part 2 I make an exposition of the Bhumisukta, particularly those verses （mantras） which are directly relevant to our environmental concerns. To say the truth, this Bhumisukta （also called the Pcthivisitkta） epitomizes the Vedic Hindu eco-culture. The Bhumisukta （which literally means, the Hymn or Prayer to the Earth） is the oldest and the most evocative environmental discourse. It is called ＂the first natural anthem＂ in the history of mankind. It constitutes the first anuvgtka of dvgtda~ kgm. da of the Atharvaveda and contains 63 verses （mantras） devoted to glorifying the Earth as sacred and inviolable. Many prayers have been sung for the preservation and conservation of Nature and its gifts of splendor. The Bh^misftkta talks about human dependence on the Nature and respect for the same that follows naturally. It proclaims of the Earth as the mother, and humanity as her children Bhumisukta, putro＇ham pr. thivyah＂ In Part 3 1 like to make a brief but critical observation regarding the loss of continuity of Vedic tradition in view of an objection made by some Western environmentalists. In this concluding part I like to respond to the objection that so called eco-sensitive cultures could not avert environmental pollution and depletion of Nature in countries, like India.

＜正＞Landscape architecture is extending its territory and co-working with other science and technology like as ecology, urban planning, tourism and biology. This paper focuses on environment value and conception of nature in the Eastern and the Western landscape architecture. Environmentalism in the West has been evolved various ways. However, the roots of modern environmentalism that might be represented as thoughts of George Marsh, Aldo Leopold, and Arne Naess could be easily found in the eastern culture rather than in the western culture. Virtually, there is a little difference between philosophy of Arne Naess and Taoism, and Buddhism. The East Asia’s value such as ecocentric and non-dualistic thought might be show the way of out from the crises that humankind is confronting. In this point, landscape architects in the East Asia have responsibility of rescue our environment
