dear editor, During the past two decades, management of blunt solid organ injuries had shifted from conventional surgery to more conservative approach, namely nonoperative management (NOM).[1] The non-operative approach mainly depends on the trauma experience of surgeons and the institution, quality of radiographic imaging and its interpretation.[2-5] If the surgeon decides to observe the patients by NOM, close monitoring of vital signs and frequent physical examinations must be done accordingly with radiological evaluations if needed.

dear Editor, Grasslands in north-western China support six species of wild antelopes(Jiang et al.,1996).Among those,the Przewalski's gazelle(Procapra przewalskii)is endangered with a most restricted distribution range.This species is only found on grasslands around the Qinghai Lake in the north-eastern corner of the Tibetan Plateau(Jiang et al., 1995).While poaching of gazelles has been largely prevented since 2002,fencing,a measure supported by grassland conservation policies,has posed negative impacts on the gazelles(Zhang et al.,2014).

dear editor,Nephrotic syndrome is defined by the presence of peripheral edema,heavy proteinuria(greater than 3.5 g/24h),and hypoalbuminemia(less than 3 g/dL).^[1]Nephrotic syndrome is relatively rare,with an incidence of 3 new patients per 100,000 per year in adults.^[1]Despite being a known cause for new onset edema in patients at any age,nephrotic syndrome is often neglected in considering differential diagnoses for this presentation in primary care settings,and initial workups often focus on ruling out cardiac and hepatic causes of edema.^[1-3]In this case report,we describe a 25-year-old male patient who presented to the emergency department(ED)complaining of a 10-day history of anasarca.He was later diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome secondary to minimal change disease.This case served as a reminder to include the differential diagnosis of nephrotic syndrome early in the workup of an adult with peripheral edema presenting to the ED.

dear Editor, Many forms of sight-threatening diseases, including retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), are caused by the dysfunction, degeneration and loss of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE)(Strauss, 2005). RPE cell transplantation may potentially recover or halt disease progression, in which human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) could serve as an unlimited donor source for RPE differentiation, and a few clinical trials have shown the safety and effective of transplantation of hESCs-derived RPE (hESC-RPE) for AMD patients (Schwartz et al., 2012;Schwartz etal., 2015;Song etal., 2015;da Cruz et al., 2018;Kashani et al., 2018;Liu et al., 2018).

dear Editor,Polymerase chain reaction(PCR)is a molecular diagnostic technique that has been widely used for diagnosing viral diseases.Nested PCR(N-PCR)is a variation on the standard PCR technique that involves two amplification steps,yielding greater sensitivity and specificity.But there are two main disadvantages:the protocol is more complex than conventional PCR,and the risk of cross-contamination is relatively high.One-step nested PCR(OSN-PCR)enables conventional N-PCR to be performed as a closed reaction in a single tube that contains both outer and inner primers.This strategy makes OSN-PCR more rapid than N-PCR,lowers the probability of cross-contamination,and requires a smaller amount of reagents.

dear Editor, Phosphorus (P) deficiency is the most limiting factor in tropical agriculture since most soils in this region are predominantly acids with high-energy P-binding compounds. Therefore, up to 90% of the P applied becomes fixed in soils, which raises environmental concerns and production costs (Syers et al., 2008). Thus, developing strategies to imptove P use efficiency (PUE) is essential to mitigate environmental problems and improve profits. These strategies should consider the soil-root-rhizosphere system because it is the most biochemical active site where nutrient uptake occurs (Hinsinger, 2011).
