The registered images are first decomposed by using steerable pyramid. The EM algorithm is used to fuse the image components in the low frequency band. The selection method involving the informative importance measure is applied to those in the high frequency band. The final fused image is then computed by taking the inverse transform on the composite coefficient representations. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms conventional image fusion methods.

A novel measurement method for chemical solubility determination is brought forward, in which the advantages of two kinds of traditional methods are united. The results show that the concentration of unsolved particles suspending in the solution can be determined by measuring I/I0 (ratio of the transmission intensity to the incident intensity) of the laser beam permeating through the solution according to Lamben-Beer law. The biggest relative deviation for the solubility data determined is less than 1.5% for the sparingly soluble substances and 0.3% for the opulently soluble substances. By comparison of the experimental solubility data with previous data, the light extinction method is demonstrated to be stable and reliable.

A data buoy, when moored at the sea, will be influenced by different environmental factors such as wind and wave current. For this reason, the stability of a data buoy is of great importance. This paper describes the analysis and calculation of the stability of a data buoy which has a weight suspended from its bottom under normal working conditions and the influence of the distance from the weight to the bottom of the buoy on the 'righting' ability of the buoy when it is capsized. The paper also provides the curves which show the influence of the size of the weight and the distance from the weight to the bottom of the buoy on the 'righting' ability of the buoy. All these are of great reference value for the design and use of a data buoy at sea and for the design of similar floating bodies. The results from calculations agree with those from the model experiment.

For load-controlled and displacement-controlled test data of piles cyclically axiallly loaded in clay, the displacement conditions are suggested for determining the shaft capacity. According to the suggested displacement conditions, not only the results of shaft capacity from laboratory model piles are close to those from in-situ piles, but also the results of load-controlled tests are in satisfactory agreement with those of displacement-controlled test. Moreover, based on the test data of laboratory model piles in combination with the test data published, the paper suggests the values of the normalized shaft capacity of piles under a variety of static and cyclic loading combinations.

Nonnegative CANDECOMP/PARAFAC（NCP） tensor decomposition is a powerful tool for multiway signal processing. The alternating direction method of multipliers（ADMM） optimization algorithm has become increasingly popular for solving tensor decomposition problems in the block coordinate descent framework. However,the ADMM-based NCP algorithm suffers from rank deficiency and slow convergence for some large-scale and highly sparse tensor data. The proximal algorithm is preferred to enhance optimization algorithms and improve convergence properties. In this study, we propose a novel NCP algorithm using the alternating direction proximal method of multipliers（ADPMM） that consists of the proximal algorithm. The proposed NCP algorithm can guarantee convergence and overcome the rank deficiency. Moreover, we implement the proposed NCP using an inexact scheme that alternatively optimizes the subproblems. Each subproblem is optimized by a finite number of inner iterations yielding fast computation speed. Our NCP algorithm is a hybrid of alternating optimization and ADPMM and is named *** experimental results on synthetic and real-world tensors demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed algorithm.

The principle, method and mersuring equipment in studying siltaton in the Lianyun Harbor by using the γ-ray density gauge are described in this paper.
