In this work,a three-dimensional crystal-plasticity-based phase-field model considering three kinds of inelastic deformation mechanisms,i.e.,martensitic transformation,dislocation slip in austenite,and dislocation slip in martensite,is established to simulate the stress-assisted two-way shape memory effect(SATWSME)of NiTi single crystals and its cyclic *** simulation results show that the ability of the SATWSME of NiTi single crystal increases as increasing the constant stress in the range discussed in this work(10–100 MPa),which is due to the increase of reoriented martensite formed in the cooling process due to the enhanced variant-selection capability of increased constant *** martensitic transformation and its reverse in the cyclic process reflecting the SATWSME show more and more obvious localization characteristics,resulting in the accumulation of significantly heterogeneous plastic deformation(mainly caused by the dislocation slip in austenite),which leads to the cyclic degradation of *** simulation results and the conclusions drawn from this work are helpful for further understanding the mechanism of functional cyclic degradation of NiTi alloys.

One of the main concerns in cyclic behavior of soft clay is gradual degradation with the progression of loading cycle.A series of cyclic constant-volume direct simple shear(CDSS) loading tests was performed on Malaysia offshore clay to study its undrained *** testing program consists of stresscontrolled tests with cyclic shear ratio ranging from 0.34 to 0.83 at different overconsolidation ratios(OCRs).For a given cyclic stress ratio in stress-controlled tests,the accumulated cyclic strain and pore water pressure increase with elevated number of *** heavily overconsolidated clay specimens,the negative cyclic pore water pressure is generated followed by positive cyclic pore water pressure as cyclic tests *** post-cyclic strength of offshore clay specimens is reduced by undrained cyclic stresscontrolled loading.

Theoretical investigation on axial cyclic performance of monopile in sands using interface constitutive models

cyclic loads generated by environmental factors,such as winds,waves,and trains,will likely lead to performance degradation in pile foundations,resulting in issues like permanent displacement accumulation and bearing capacity *** paper presents a semi-analytical solution for predicting the axial cyclic behavior of piles in *** solution relies on two enhanced nonlinear load-transfer models considering stress-strain hysteresis and cyclic degradation in the pile-soil *** parameters are calibrated through cyclic shear tests of the sand-steel interface and laboratory geotechnical testing of sands.A novel aspect involves the meticulous formulation of the shaft loadtransfer function using an interface constitutive model,which inherently inherits the interface model’s advantages,such as capturing hysteresis,hardening,degradation,and particle *** semi-analytical solution is computed numerically using the matrix displacement method,and the calculated values are validated through model tests performed on non-displacement and displacement piles in *** results demonstrate that the predicted values show excellent agreement with the measured values for both the static and cyclic responses of piles in *** displacement pile response,including factors such as bearing capacity,mobilized shaft resistance,and convergence rate of permanent settlement,exhibit improvements compared to non-displacement piles attributed to the soil squeezing *** methodology presents an innovative analytical framework,allowing for integrating cyclic interface models into the theoretical investigation of pile responses.
