This is a review paper that brings to focus, concepts of Community Health Practice that connect Community Health Practitioners’ Roles to National development in view of its composite index improvement measure of social welfare services provision among others for the citizens of a country over time, with particular emphasis on medical care component of such index aimed at reduction in diseases and poverty in the population. The objective of the review work is to determine the extent to which Community Health Practice, particularly by Community Health Practitioners is capable of ensuring National Development in democratic governance or otherwise, in the context of our country, Nigeria. The methodology applied was traditional review of published literatures concerning the subject and findings of operational research of programme implemented by Community Health Practitioners at the Primary Health Care facilities and household level in the communities. This paper emphasizes on Primary Health Care services delivery contribution to National Development, since it is the level where Community Health Practitioners are mainly commissioned to render their services. Home-Based Care Strategy for Integrated Maternal, Newborn and Child Health piloted in three (3) local government areas (Ahoada West, Etche and Oyigbo) in Rivers State, Nigeria, in 2012 and implemented by Community Health Practitioners, aimed at reducing maternal, newborn and child morbidity and mortality by 20% by 2015 in line with the United Nations (UN) Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5, had been shown to achieve an average of 26% improvement in utilization of maternal and newborn health services, an average of 27% overall reduction in maternal malnutrition status, an average of 14% overall improvement in under 5 years malnutrition status among others in 2013 on comparing with baseline indicators. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Buyanghuanwu (BYHW) decoction for the treatment of ischemic stroke convalescence. Methods: CNKI, Wanfang knowledge service platform, VIP journal database, Chinese biomedical literature database (CBM), Pubmed, the Cochrane Library, Science Citation Index (SCI) and Elsevier SD databases were searched from the origin time to May 2018. Cochrane recommended bias risk assessment method was used to evaluate the bias risk. Review Manager 5.3 was used to perform meta-analysis. Results: A total of 12 studies with a 1246 cases were included in the study. The results of the analysis showed that the efficacy of BYHW decoction combined with western medicine treatment was better than that of control group (OR = 2.88, 95% CI (2.10,3.95), P < 0.001)]. The neurological deficit score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant [MD =-2.84, 95% CI (-3.22,-2.45), P < 0.001]. The scores of daily living ability in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant [MD = 8.89, 95% CI (7.61, 10.16), P <0.00001]. In the safety aspect, the results of the study are different, and there was a lack of quantitative indicators to evaluate the objectivity of adverse reactions. Conclusion: BYHW decoction combined with the Western medicine is an effective treatment for the recovery period of cerebral infarction, which can significantly improve the clinical efficacy, improve patients' neurological symptoms and their quality of life.

Objective: To study the curative effect of licorice flavonoid Chinese herbal frond cream combined with Awei A capsule in the treatment of psoriasis. Methods: During the period from April 2016 to March 2018, a total of 116 patients with psoriasis in our hospital were randomly divided into the experimental group (the treatment of licorice flavonoids and Chinese acupoint cream combined with Awei A capsule) and the control group (single use) Avi A capsule treatment). Comparison of blood lipid metabolism indexes (high-density lipoprotein, apolipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein) and serum biochemical indicators (neutrophil elastase, endogenous inhibitor of NE, placental cadherin) statistical difference in content. The statistical differences between PASI score and DLQI score before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. At the end of treatment, the statistical difference between the clinical efficacy and the incidence of adverse reactions was compared between the two groups. Results:The levels of serum NE, Trappin-2 and P-cad in patients before and after treatment showed a significant downward trend. The content of NE, Trappin-2 and P-cad in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group. The content of HDL-C in lipid metabolism index increased significantly before and after treatment, and the content of APOA and LDL-C decreased significantly. The content of HDL-C in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The content of APOA and LDL-C was significantly lower than that of the control group. The PASI score and DLQI score of patients before and after treatment decreased significantly. After treatment, the PASI score and DLQI score of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was significantly different. Chin J Integr Trad & West Med 2007;27(3):201-203. Objective To study the clinical effect of "Jin′s three-needling" in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. Methods Fifty-eight patients with generalized anxiety were randomly assigned to two groups equally. the medication group treated with anti-anxiety drugs and the acupuncture group with "Jin′s three-needling". The treatment course was 6 weeks. The clinical effects were evaluated with Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA), clinical global impression (CGI), and treatment emergent symptom scale (TESS) before treatment and at the end of 2nd, 4th, 6th week of the treatment course. The concentration of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in platelet, and plasma levels of corticosterone (CS) and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) were measured with high performance liquid chromatography-electrochemical detection (HPLC-ED) method before and after treatment. Results The clinical effects in the two groups were equivalent, while the adverse reaction found in the acupuncture group was less than that in the medication group (Pcurative effect on generalized anxiety to routine Western medicine but with less adverse reaction, which may be realized through regulating the platelet 5-HT concentration and plasma ACTH level.
