Design and Implementation of Quench Protection in the EAST cryogenic control system

An outline of the complete design of the cryogenic system, including the detection of quench signals, the processing flow after a quench and the concrete measures of pressure release for EAST is described in this paper. The hardware and software configurations on DeltaV DCS are illustrated in detail. The results of quench protection testing in cooling experiments are also analyzed.

Chinese Fusion Engineering Testing Reactor(CFETR) is a superconducting Tokamak *** order to research and validate the technology of Central Solenoid(CS) superconducting coils for CFETR,a Central Solenoid Model Coil(CSMC)has been designing and constructing,which is made of NbSn/NbTi and operated by forced-flow cooling with supercritical helium(SHe).In this paper,the process of cryogenic distribution system for CFETR CSMC is described and the process operation is *** control system is designed based on EPICS(Experimental Physics and Industrial control system).Operation modes are analyzed and divided into 20 normal phases and 9 abnormal *** sequence is defined to make control logic clear according to the hierarchy of operation *** conceptual design will guide the project implementation.

The cryogenic ground support equipment (CGSE) is an important part of Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer-02 (AMS-02) experiment which is a particle physics experiment. CGSE is used to cool down the superconducting magnet of AMS-02 to its operating temperature of 1.8K and to fill the magnet helium tank with superfluid helium. This paper introduces the control system of CGSE and presents the performance of the system.
