Carrying Capacity and coupling coordination of Water and Land Resources Systems in Arid and Semi-arid Areas: A Case Study of Yulin City, China

Quantitatively assessing the carrying capacity of water and land resources systems in arid and semi-arid areas is crucial for achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development *** this work,taking Yulin City in China as a case study and employing the Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation(CRITIC)method,a modified model of coupling degree was developed to evaluate the car-rying capacity of water and land resources systems endowment and utilization,as well as their coupling coordination degree from 2013 to *** findings indicate that the water and land resources of Yulin are diminishing due to declines in agriculture,higher industrial water use,and wetland ***,reallocating domestic water for ecological sustainability and reducing sloping farmland can mitigate this trend of ***,as the coupling coordination between water and land resources system endowment in Yulin continuously improved,the coupling coordination between water and land resources system utilization first decreased and then in-creased with 2016 as the turning ***,the carrying capacity of water and land resources systems,the coupling coordination degree between water and land resources system endowment,and the coupling coordination degree between water and land resources system utilization in Yulin exhibited the same pattern of being higher in the six northern counties than in the six southern *** the water resources endowment is vital for the highly efficient use of water and land resources.

Understanding the change of land space utilization efficiency with different functions and its coupling coordination: A case study of Urban Agglomeration in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River, China

Land spaces function in capacities of urban development,agricultural production,and ecological conservation,among many *** of land space utilization efficiency(LSUE)and coupling coordination relationships among its subsystems are significant for sustainable land space *** this study,taking the Urban Agglomeration in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River(UAMRYR)as the study area,we establish a measurement index system to evaluate the LSUE(2000–2018)and analyze its coupling coordination degree by utilizing an improved coupling coordination *** main results include the following.(1)The average efficiency levels of urban space and agricultural space in the UAMRYR increased 2000–2018,while the average efficiency of ecological space declined.(2)The spatial pattern of the LSUE values varied greatly,with the distributions of high-efficiency and low-efficiency levels significantly different.(3)The coupling degree of LSUE includes three types,i.e.,high-level coupling,break-in,and *** coupling degree type was characterized by change over time.(4)The proportion of areas with high coupling coordination and moderate coupling coordination increased from 2000 to 2018,while the proportion of areas with basic coupling coordination,moderate imbalance,and serious imbalance declined during this *** that the spatial differentiation of the LSUE and its coupling coordination,it is necessary to implement a differential land space development strategy in the *** study is helpful to promote the efficient utilization and coordinated development of land space utilization systems.

Promoting the coordinated development of ecological human settlements and the happiness levels of residents will help to promote people-centered high-quality *** study was based on the 2011-2021 data of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,and constructed an evaluation index system of ecological human settlements and the happiness levels of *** entropy value method,coupling coordination degree model,Dagum Gini coefficient and Geodetector model were used to explore the coupling coordination relationship and influencing factors of these two *** findings indicate that ecological human settlements and the happiness levels of residents in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration have shown an upward trend over *** 2021,the overall level of the region had significantly *** coupling coordination level between these two systems has gradually increased,showing a spatial distribution pattern of high in the east and low in the *** Dagum Gini coefficient shows a fluctuating downward trend in the overall and intra-regional differences,with the largest inter-regional difference between Shanghai and Anhui,and the inter-regional difference is the main source of the spatial *** development level(Eco)was the main factor influencing the coupling coordination of the two systems from 2011 to *** results of this study provide references for constructing ecological human settlements and enhancing the happiness levels of residents.

Sci-tech innovation is an important measure for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to achieve high-quality economic ***,there is a coupling coordination relationship between sci-tech innovation and high-quality economic development,and coordinating the relationship between the two is beneficial to building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into an international innovation and technology hub and promoting high-quality economic *** present,the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has seen a year-on-year increase in both the level of sci-tech innovation and the level of high-quality economic development,with a sound development *** coupling coordination degree between sci-tech innovation and high-quality economic development has steadily improved from a slightly uncoordinated stage to a primarily coordinated stage,but the overall degree of coordination is still not high,with some gaps from realizing the excellently coordinated *** the perspective of spatial distribution,the internal development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is unbalanced,with obvious differences in development level and coupling coordination degree among *** convergence analysis shows that the differences in the coupling coordination degree among the cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area have stabilized after narrowing during the study ***,the difference among the cities with higher coupling coordination degrees tends to widen in recent ***,necessary measures should be taken to promote the coordination between sci-tech innovation and high-quality economic development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Regional coupling coordination degree between new urbanization and water ecological civilization in China,2009-2018

New urbanization is closely related to the construction of aquatic ecological civilization,and it promotes and restricts each *** on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2009 to 2018,this paper constructs the evaluation index system of new urbanization and water ecological civilization,determines the weight by using entropy method,and comprehensively analyzes and judges the development status and coupling coordination of new urbanization and water ecological civilization by constructing the coupling coordination model of new urbanization and water ecological *** results show that the coupling coordination degree of new urbanization and water ecological civilization in most provinces and cities is in the state of barely coordination and primary coordination,and is at the level of medium coupling coordination;the overall trend is increasing,and the gap between provinces is gradually narrowing with the advance of time;In terms of regional distribution,the eastern region is higher than the central and western ***,Shanghai,Tianjin and other places in the eastern region have realized the high-level coupling of new urbanization and water ecological civilization,while Henan,Anhui,Hunan and other places in the central region still have a large space for improvement.

The Relationship between Water Resources Use Efficiency and Scientific and Technological Innovation Level: Case Study of Yangtze River Basin in China

The Yangtze River Basin’s water resource utilization efficiency(WUE)and scientific and technological innovation level(STI)are closely connected,and the comprehension of these relationships will help to improve WUE and promote local economic growth and conservation of *** study uses 19 provinces and regions along the Yangtze River’s mainstream from 2009 to 2019 as its research objects and uses a Vector Auto Regression(VAR)model to quantitatively evaluate the spatiotemporal evolution of the coupling coordination degree(CCD)between the two subsystems of WUE and *** findings show that:(1)Both the WUE and STI in the Yangtze River Basin showed an upward trend during the study period,but the STI effectively lagged behind the WUE;(2)The CCD of the two subsystems generally showed an upward trend,and the CCD of each province was improved to varying degrees,but the majority of regions did not develop a high-quality coordination stage;(3)The CCD of the two systems displayed apparent positive spatial autocorrelation in the spatial correlation pattern,and there were only two types:high-high(H-H)urbanization areas and low-low(L-L)urbanization areas;(4)The STI showed no obvious response to the impact of the WUE,while the WUE responded greatly to the STI,and both of them were highly dependent on *** their interaction mechanisms should be the primary focus of high-quality development in the basin of the Yangtze River in the *** results give the government an empirical basis to enhance the WUE and promote regional sustainable development.

In this study,the interplay between ecosystem services and human well-being in Seni district,which is a pastoral region of Nagqu city on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,is *** the improved InVEST model,CASA model,coupling coordination model,and hierarchical clustering method,we analyze the spatiotemporal patterns of ecosystem services,the levels of resident well-being levels,and the interrelationships between these factors over the period from 2000 to *** findings reveal significant changes in six ecosystem services,with water production decreasing by 7.1%and carbon sequestration and soil conservation services increasing by approximately 6.3%and 14.6%,*** the habitat quality and landscape recreation services remained ***,the towns in the eastern and southern areas exhibited higher water production and soil conservation services,while those in the central area exhibited greater carbon sequestration *** coupling and coordination relationship between ecosystem services and human well-being improved significantly over the study period,evolving from low-level coupling to coordinated *** clustering was used to classify the 12 town-level units into five *** subjective well-being townships had lower livestock breeding services,while high subjective well-being townships had higher supply,regulation,and support ecosystem *** transportation conditions were associated with higher subjective well-being in townships with low supply *** recommend addressing the identified transportation disparities and enhancing key regulatory and livestock breeding services to promote regional sustainability and improve the quality of life for Seni district residents,thus catering to the diverse needs of both herdsmen and citizens.

Evaluation of the Green Development Level and Its DynamicChanges in Qinghai Province

Realizing comprehensive green transformation is the necessary path for high-quality and sustainabledevelopment in Qinghai *** constructed an indicator system for evaluating the green development inQinghai from five dimensions:resource utilization,environmental protection,ecological protection,growth quality,and green life based on the national green development indicator system;and comprehensively used the entropymethod,comprehensive index method,coupled coordination model,and obstacle degree model to evaluate thegreen development level of Qinghai from 1998 to *** results showed four important points.(1)The greendevelopment comprehensive index of Qinghai increased gradually in the past 25 years,but there is still much roomfor improvement.(2)The focus of green development changed in the three evaluation *** focus in1998-2004 and 2005-2011 was on improving the ecological environment,and in 2012-2022 the focus was oneconomic and industrial development and the improvement of residents’living standards.(3)Since 2001,the coupling degree of the five dimensions of green development has maintained a high-level coupling stage,and the coordinated development degree entered a good coordination stage in 2021.(4)The key obstacles hindering the improvement of green development level shifted from growth quality to resource utilization and ecological ***,improving the resource utilization level is the primary task for Qinghai to achieve high-quality green *** study provides methodological support for green development evaluation,and suggestions for directing the formulation of green development policies in Qinghai Province.
