ON THE INTERACTION OF WATER WAVES AND SEABED BY THE POROUS MEDIUM MODEL

The interaction of water waves and seabed is studied by using Yamamoto's model, which takes into account the deformation of soil skeletal frame, compressibility of pore fluid flow as well as the Coulumb friction. When analyzing the propagation of three kinds of stress waves in seabed, a simplified dispersion relation and a specific damping formula are derived. The problem of seabed stability is further treated analytically based on the Mohr-coulomb theory. The theory is finally applied to the coastal problems in the Lian-Yun Harbour and compared with observations and measurements in soil-wave tank with satisfactory results.

For new submarine pipeline maintenance lifting equipment,a specialized analysis model is constructed in this study.A pipeline can be divided into the lifted portion and the touch-down portion that lies on the seabed,and each of these portions can be analyzed separately by converting the continuity conditions at the touch-down points to boundary *** typical two-point sequence secant iterative technique is used to obtain the unknown lifted length and determine pipeline lifting *** BVP4C module in MATLAB software is used to solve this multiple-point boundary value problem issued from frst-order diferential ***,the triple-point lifting mode of truncated maintenance and the two-point lifting mode of online maintenance are *** the lifted heights at truss positions are shown,the lifting deformation,lifting forces,bending moment distribution,and axial force distribution can be analyzed using a dedicated analysis *** results can then be used to design a lifting strategy to protect the pipeline.

friction induced self-excited vibration, also known as stick-slip vibration, often cause some undesired effects observed in everyday life as well as engineering applications, including noise of a squeaking door, squeaky chalk on a blackboard, brake squeal, rattling joints of a robot, chattering machine tools and others. The self-excited vibrations between contact interfaces may lead to wear and damage of a machinery or a failure of a mechanical system. It is necessary to investigate the stick-slip of a nonlinear friction system with geometric nonlinearity for gaining a deeper understanding of nonlinear friction induced vibration in mechanical *** mathematical model of the self-excited SD oscillator is established by employing coulomb’s law to formulate the friction between the surfaces of the mass and the moving belt. Complex dynamical behaviors are demonstrated by equilibrium analysis including stability analysis and supercritical pitchfork bifurcations of the system. Closed-form solutions for both stick-slip motions and pure slip motions of the system can be derived and utilized to examine the influence of the belt speed on the steady-state of the system by using Hamilton function. The collision of trajectories of the periodic motions and the chaotic motions with the sliding regions have manifested in the(x, \dot x, t) state space by means of numerical simulations.
