The microstructure evolution and the corrosion feature of Al–x Cu– y Li–Mg alloys( x : y = 0.44, 1.65 and 4.2) were systematically investigated under the same artificial aging conditions. The relationships between types of precipitates and mechanical performance, as well as electrochemical behaviors, were discussed. Our results show that different types of precipitates can be obtained in alloys with different Cu/Li mass ratios, which significantly influences the mechanical performance of the alloys and substantial corrosion behaviors. Specifically, the analogous corrosion evolution in the aging Al– x Cu– y Li–Mg alloys was first ascertained to be derived from the growth mechanism of the precipitates at the grain boundary(GB). Moreover, a small number of GB precipitates can be obtained in the aged alloy with the lowest Cu/Li mass ratio, thereby resulting in the largest intergranular corrosion resistance. A higher proportion of the GB T1 phase in the continuous precipitates induces higher corrosion sensitivity in alloy with a high Cu/Li mass ratio.

The effects of alloying elements of Ca/Sn on corrosion behaviors of the as-cast Mg-4Zn-0.2Mn alloy were investigated by immersion tests and electrochemical *** results indicated that the average corrosion rate value of the Mg-4Zn-0.2Mn-Ca alloy was∼0.31 mm/year in Hank’s physiological solution for 40 days,and corrosion resistance increased for the specimens containing Ca element rather than that containing Sn because of the higher breakdown potential value,lower current density and deactivated corrosion rate,which was ascribed to a formation of the uniformly distributed Mg-Zn-Ca ternary phase.

The corrosion behaviors of Mg–7Gd–5Y–1Nd–0.5Zr alloys after T5 treatment under(NH4)_(2)SO_(4),NaCl and Ca(NO_(3))_(2)salt spray condition were investigated by weight loss rates,residual mechanical properties,scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray Diffraction(XRD)and potentiodynamic polarization *** corrosion degree of Mg–7Gd–5Y–1Nd–0.5Zr alloys in Ca(NO_(3))_(2)salt spray was very shallow by corrosion morphology and the corrosion route was extended along the surface in texture-like shape,while the alloy in NaCl and(NH4)_(2)SO_(4)salt spray were major local corrosion and there were serious corrosion pits on the *** weight loss rates in(NH4)_(2)SO_(4),NaCl and Ca(NO_(3))_(2)salt spray was respectively 0.4147,0.1618 and 0.0725 mg/(cm2 d−1).The results of residual mechanical properties indicated that the corrosion order in salts spray of Mg–7Gd–5Y–1Nd–0.5Zr alloys is NH4SO4>NaCl>Ca(NO_(3))_(2),which was consistent with the results of potentiodynamic polarization *** type of the salts will play a vital role in the initiation of the corrosion of EW75 alloy when they are used in the atmosphere *** salts with the smaller PH value after dissolution will have a stronger impact on the corrosion of EW75 magnesium alloys.

This study explores a novel WNbMoTaV high-entropy thin film(HETF)in amorphous structure via pulsed laser deposition *** formation of amorphous structure of this high-entropy alloy is ascribed to the high cooling rate during the deposition *** HETF shows a smooth surface with a height fl uctuation of less than 13 *** film has a high electrical resistivity of~320.6μΩ·cm and a low corrosion current density of 0.088μA/cm *** corrosion resistance of the HETF at ambient temperature is superior to the conventional AISI 316 L stainless *** high electrical resistivity and excellent corrosion resistance of the HETF are mainly attributed to its chemical disorder,cocktail effect and homogeneous amorphous *** experimental phenomenon not only provides a basis for the preparation of amorphous alloy films with low glass forming ability by pulsed laser deposition system,also promotes the potential application of WNbMoTaV HETF in the microelectronic components as resistivity sensors.

Magnesium alloys,a novel functional material for the fabrication of fracturing tools,are being paid more and more attentions recently due to their relatively high mechanical properties and fast dissolubility ability after *** this study,the novel extruded Mg-10Gd-3Y-0.3Zr-xNi alloys will be reported and their microstructure,mechanical and corrosion behaviors will be also *** results show that Ni contents influence phase precipitation *** adding 0.2 wt%Ni,a large amount of Zr_(7)Ni_(10)phases will be precipitated insidesα-Mg matrix,directly leading to degradation of strength and large corrosion *** further increasing Ni contents,the precipitation phases can be changed from Mg_(5)RE to 18R-LPSO structure,resulting in higher mechanical properties and faster corrosion ***,adding Ni element also change the texture orientation by influencing the precipitation behavior of the *** alloys invented in this paper have attained the highest compressive and tensile properties among all the reported dissoluble magnesium *** work is beneficial in understanding the role of Ni in the magnesium alloys and provides more materials alternatives for the fabrication of dissoluble fracturing tools.

ZnFe2O4-based inert anodes were made to conduct the aluminum electrolysis tests. The corrosion behaviors of the inert anodes were examined and discussed. Experiment results prove that: (1) ZnFe2O4-based inert anodes are good corrosion resistant to AlF3-NaF-Al2O3 melts under the conditions of anodic polarization; (2) High anodic current density ( > 1.5 A·cm-2), high alumina concentration and low ratio of NaF/AlF3 in the molten salts will be the most important conditions for using inert anode.
