1 INTRODUCTIONThe p-V-T relation of liquids can be represented not only by equations of state,but alsoby the following three partial differentials: α=(V/T)_p/V (1) β=-(V/p)_T/V (2) γ=(p/T)_V (3)Where p,V and T denote the pressure,volume and temperature of liquids;α,βand γ are thethermal expansion,isothermal compressibility and thermal pressure coefficient,respectively. New corresponding temperature and corresponding enthalpy of refrigerant mix- tures were defined. The relationship between saturated liquid corresponding en- thalpy and corresponding temperature of refrigerant mixtures accorded with that of pure components. The characteristic parameters of saturated liquid enthalpy dif- ference of refrigerant mixtures were calculated by three methods according to the different application conditions. The generalized equation of saturated liquid en- thalpy of refrigerant mixtures was presented. The calculated values were compared with the values in literature for five ternary and binary refrigerant mixtures, namely R404A, R407A, R407B, R32/R134a, and R410A. The overall average absolute devia- tion was less than 1.0%.

Using the principle of corresponding states (PCS) of molecular shape factors, the highpressure vapor-liquid equilibrium for a binary system of light gases with hydrocarbons is calculated. The van der Waals one-fluid mixture model, with two binary interaction parameters, is used to determine the conformal parameters needed to describe mixture behavior, and the Marquardt optimization nonlinear program is used to determine optimum values of parameters. The calculated equilibrium ratios by specifying temperatures as functions of pressures agree well with experimental data. Only two conformal parameters are needed in the shape factor method for calculating mixtures.
