In a test of the weak equivalence principle （WEP） with a rotating torsion pendulum, it is important to estimate the amplitude of the modulation signal with high precision. We use a torsional filter to remove the free oscillation signal and employ the correlation method to estimate the amplitude of the modulation signal. The data analysis of an experiment shows that the uncertainties of amplitude components of the modulation signal obtained by the correlation method are in agreement with those due to white noise. The power spectral density of the modulation signal obtained by the correlation method is about one order higher than the thermal noise limit. It indicates that the correlation method is an effective way to estimate the amplitude of the modulation signal and it is instructive to conduct a high-accuracy WEP test.

A Study on Reconstruction of Surface Wind Speed in China Due to Various Climate Variabilities

Using European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis V5(ERA5)reanalysis data,this study investigated the reconstruction effects of various climate variabilities on surface wind speed in China from 1979 to *** results indicated that the reconstructed annual mean wind speed and the standard deviation of the annual mean wind speed,utilizing various climate variability indices,exhibited similar spatial modes to the reanalysis data,with spatial correlation coefficients of 0.99 and 0.94,*** the reconstruction of six major wind power installed capacity provinces/autonomous regions in China,the effects were notably good for Hebei and Shanxi provinces,with the correlation coefficients for the interannual regional average wind speed time series being 0.65 and 0.64,*** reconstruction effects of surface wind speed differed across seasons,with spring and summer reconstructions showing the highest correlation with reanalysis *** correlation coefficients for all seasons across most regions in China ranged between 0.4 and *** the reconstructed seasonal wind speeds for the six provinces/autonomous regions,Shanxi Province in spring exhibited the highest correlation with the reanalysis,with a coefficient of *** large-scale climate variability indices showed good reconstruction effects on the annual mean wind speed in China,and could explain the interannual variability trends of surface wind speed in most regions of China,particularly in the main wind energy provinces/autonomous regions.

The sea-ice concentration in the Northern Hemisphere, 500 hPa height, sea-level pressure and 1000-500 hPa thickness of monthly mean data are examined for the period 1953-1989, with emphasis on the winter *** between large-scale patterns of atmospheric variability and sea-ice variability are investigated, making use of the correlation method. The analysis is conducted for the Atlantic sectors. In agreement with earlier studies based upon monthly mean data on sea-ice concentration, the strongest sea-ice pattern is composed of a dipole with opposing centers of action in the Davis Straits / Labrador Sea region and the Greenland and Barents Seas. Its temporal variability is strongly coupled to the atmospheric North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO). The relationship between the two patterns is strongest with the atmosphere leading the ocean. The polarity of the NAO is associated with Greenland blocking episodes, during which the influence of the atmosphere is strong enough to temporarily halt the climatological mean advance of the ice edge in some regions and substantially accelerate it in *** relationships between the fields are indicative of local forcing of sea-ice in most regions, with wind stress and thermodynamic fluxes at the air-sea interface both contributing.

Self-tuning Measurement Fusion Kalman Filter with Correlated Measurement Noises and Its convergence

For the multisensor single channel autoregressive moving average（ARMA）signals with unknown model parameters and noise variances,using the recursive instrumental variable（RIV）and the correlated method,the strong consistent information fusion estimators of model parameters and noise variances are presented,and then substituting them into the optimal weighted measurement fusion Wiener signal filter,a self-tuning weighted measurement fusion Wiener signal filter is ***,applying the dynamic error system analysis（DESA）method,it is rigorously proved that the self-tuning fused Wiener filter converges to the optimal fused Wiener filter in a realization,so that it has asymptotically global optimality.A simulation example shows its effectiveness.
