The paper presents our research efforts motivated by the apparent need to combine conventional,preexisting computing functions with novel knowledge--based functions. This has been likened to what occurred in the evolution of primates, where the 'new brain' (the cortex) was added to, layered upon, and given control over the 'old brain' common to the less complex animals.

cooperative system bridges comprise several basic structures that act jointly to improve structural characteristics. We delved into the historical development of cooperative system bridges. cooperative systems are classified as different-load cooperative systems and same-load cooperative systems by distinguishing the modes of load distribution. For different-load cooperation,individual basic structures are at different positions in the direction along bridge axis and carry the loads separately. While for same-load cooperation,all basic structures overlap in geometrical locations and support the entire loads conjointly. The choosing of span ratios between basic structures,the design of connections of different-load cooperative systems were discussed as well as optimizations of relative rigidity for same-load cooperative systems which greatly influence structural characteristics. The general situation and several structural measurements of several cooperative bridges were demonstrated. This information can assist engineers in developing their concepts in cooperative systems and can lead to more efficient and economical cooperative bridges.

In this paper, we propose a semi-continuous dynamical system to study the cooperative system with feedback control. Based on geometrical analysis and the analogue of Poincare criterion, the existence and stability of the positive order one periodic solutions are given. Numerical results are carried out to illustrate the feasibility of our main results.

In order to simplify the complexity of multi-robot cooperative working in logistic automation system, a new idea of agent-based multi-robot logistic system which consists of PUMA560 robot, Staübli RX60 robot, Pinooer2 robot, pallet, conveyor, materials, storage, and computer control network is proposed. Thus the relative problems which exist in the cooperative multi-robot logistic system can be turned to some problems of agents, such as sensing, planning and decision- making. Furthermore, the distributed multi-agent architecture for such intelligent production system is designed. The architecture comprises information agent, object agent, decision-making agent, cooperative agent, executive agent, monitor agent and interface agent in network environment, which can guarantee high cooperative efficiency, excellent adaptability and convenient expansibility. As the kernel part, decision-making agent is in charge of the behavior plan and control, such as interference check, obstacle avoidance, and path plan. In addition, task cooperation of multi-agent logistic system is discussed, and some important details including formal description, algorithm, behaviour rules and agent realization are given. Task can be dynamicly assigned by competitive mechanism in multi-robot system. According to the provided architecture and algorithm, one small cooperative logistic system is developed. Simulation result shows that agent-based distributed architecture is helpful to develop the intelligent multi-robot logistic system.

The majority of existing information systems deals with crisp data through crisp database systems. Traditional Database Management systems （DBMS） have not taken into account imprecision so one can say there is some sort of lack of flexibility. The reason is that queries retrieve only elements which precisely match to the given Boolean query. That is, an element belongs to the result if the query is true for this element; otherwise, no answers are returned to the user. The aim of this paper is to present a cooperative approach to handling empty answers of fuzzy conjunctive queries by referring to the Formal Concept Analysis （FCA） theory and fuzzy logic. We present an architecture which combines FCA and databases. The processing of fuzzy queries allows detecting the minimal reasons of empty answers. We also use concept lattice in order to provide the user with the nearest answers in the case of a query failure.

Due to its large bandwidth and the complexity of indoor environment, the ultra-wideband （UWB） channel is frequency selective, which affects the data rate and reliability of UWB communication. This paper investigates amplify-and-forward （AF） relay scheme to mitigate this reliability problem for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing （OFDM）-UWB communication. The relay can be used to acquire capacity gain and diversity gain just like multiple-input and multiple-output （MIMO） system. The first investigation focuses on the relay-node selection criterion and combination ratio for capacity gain. Capacity gain depends on the correlation of frequency responses between direct link and relay link in addition to signal-to-noise ratio （SNR） of relay link. Increased similarity of the two frequency responses increases capacity gain. Capacity gain＇s best relay and combination ratio are found by taking the derivative of the capacity equation. Solution of the quadratic derivative equation of ratio finds the optimal ratios for every potential relay node. The second investigation focuses on relay-node selection criterion and combination ratio for diversity gain. Higher diversity gain corresponds to less deep-faded sub-channels of combined signal. Reduced computation divides the problem into two steps： the first step selects the relay node according to the criterion that is dependent on the expectation value and variance of S（f）--the function of SNR of Jq the second step solves the optimization problem for optimal combination ratio. Numerical simulation shows that our scheme is effective in pursuit of capacity gain and of diversity gain.

This paper relieves the ＇curse of dimensionality＇ problem, which becomes intractable when scaling rein- forcement learning to multi-agent systems. This problem is aggravated exponentially as the number of agents increases, resulting in large memory requirement and slowness in learning speed. For cooperative systems which widely exist in multi-agent systems, this paper proposes a new multi-agent Q-learning algorithm based on decomposing the joint state and joint action learning into two learning processes, which are learning individual action and the maximum value of the joint state approximately. The latter process considers others＇ actions to insure that the joint action is optimal and supports the updating of the former one. The simulation results illustrate that the proposed algorithm can learn the optimal joint behavior with smaller memory and faster leamin~ soeed comoared with friend-O learnin~ and indet^endent learning.

This paper investigates the impacts of network coding （NC） on user fairness from the network perspective in multiple access channels. Firstly, simultaneous outage is exploited as the metric to evaluate user fairness. To optimize it, a fairness-oriented physical layer NC scheme is proposed, in which users＇ signals are superimposed in specific calculated proportion at relay and then decoded by maximal ratio combination （MRC） and serial interference cancellation （SIC） at destination. Furthermore, the influence of power allocation coefficient error on simultaneous outage is also analyzed to reveal its correlation with user fairness. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme can supply approximately equal performance promotion for each cooperation-participated user and outperform those without fairness consideration in terms of the employed metric.
