＜正＞contact printing is a widely used method to build *** contact printing,a slot pin picks up some solution and spreads it to the surface of the substrate point by *** of the limited volume,it is inevitable that the slot pin fails to spread the solution after certain *** number of continuous dipping points has a dominant influence on the microarray *** this paper,the criteria that the pin keeps continuous dipping are *** the static model and dynamic model of the slot pin are *** maximum distance from the holding solution to the substrate’s surface and the distance that the kinetic energy can overcome the work of the surface tension are supposed to judge the continuous *** is found that the angle from the pin’s central axis to the inner generatrix added with the contact angle of the solution should be less than 90°in order to pick up the *** width of the slot tip,the angle from the central axis to the inner generatix,the velocity of the pin,and the surface tension coefficient of the solution are the crucial factors for the continuous *** criteria referred in this paper are useful for designing a slot pin or making a microarray.

Automated and miniaturized screening of antibiotic combinations via robotic-printed combinatorial droplet platform

Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)has become a global health crisis in need of novel *** this end,antibiotic combination therapies,which combine multiple antibiotics for treatment,have at-tracted significant attention as a potential approach for combating *** facilitate advances in anti-biotic combination therapies,most notably in investigating antibiotic interactions and identifying synergistic antibiotic combinations however,there remains a need for automated high-throughput plat-forms that can create and examine antibiotic combinations on-demand,at scale,and with minimal reagent *** address these challenges,we have developed a Robotic-Printed Combinatorial Droplet(RoboDrop)platform by integrating a programmable droplet microfuidic device that generates antibiotic combinations in nanoliter droplets in automation,a robotic arm that arranges the droplets in an array,and a camera that images the array of thousands of droplets in *** further implement a resazurin-based bacterial viability assay to accelerate our antibiotic combination *** a demonstration,we use RoboDrop to corroborate two pairs of antibiotics with known interactions and subsequently identify a new synergistic combination of cefsulodin,penicillin,and oxacillin against a model *** *** therefore envision RoboDrop becoming a useful tool to efficiently identify new synergistic antibiotic combinations toward combating AMR.

Nanowires and nanotubes of diverse material compositions,properties and/or functions have been produced or fabricated through various bottom-up or top-down *** nanowires or nanotubes have also been utilized as potential building blocks for functional *** key for the integration of those nanowire or nanotube based devices is to assemble these one dimensional nanomaterials to specific locations using techniques that are highly controllable and *** such techniques should enable assembly of highly uniform nanowire/nanotube arrays with precise control of density,location,dimension or even material types of nanowires/*** assembly techniques are being developed that can quickly align and assemble large quantities of one type or multiple types of nanowires through parallel processes,including flow-assisted alignment,Langmuir-Blodgett assembly,bubble-blown technique,electric/magnetic-field directed assembly,contact/roll printing,knocking-down,etc..With these assembling techniques,applications of nanowire/nanotube based devices such as flexible electronics and sensors have been *** paper delivers an overall review of directed nanowire/nanotube assembling approaches and analyzes advantages and limitations of each *** future research directions have also been discussed.
