Double effects of recrystallization behavior on grain morphology evolution and mechanical properties of Al/Mg/Al composite plate by hard plate rolling

Enhancing the bonding strength, optimizing the microstructure and refining the properties represent effective strategies for the fabrication of heterogeneous composite plates. In this study, composite plates of Al/Mg/Al were fabricated through hard plate rolling(HPR) with a reduction in rolling ranging from 40 % to 80 %. The research primarily concentrates on the substrate in the influence of rolling dynamic recrystallization(DRX) behavior on the grain morphology evolution and mechanical properties of AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets during the process. The findings indicate that at a compression amount of 60 %, the composite plate exhibits an ultimate tensile strength(UTS), a maximum elongation(EL) of 12.5 %, and improved interface bonding. Comparative analysis reveals the occurrence of DRX on the Mg side, resulting in the formation of small DRXed grains being generated. With an increase in reduction, DRX is facilitated, leading to an initial rise and subsequent decline in the proportion of DRXed grains. The proliferation of fine grains hinder dislocation movement, thereby reinforcing composite ***, an elevation in the degree of recrystallization enhances the initiation of non-basal slip and enhances the plasticity of sheet metal. This study offers valuable scientific guidance and technical assistance for the production of forming high-quality Mg–Al composite plates.

A numerical method of integration of Green's functions of strip element method (SEM) is proposed The response of ultrasonic source generated by a transducer on the surface of a multi ply composite plate containing a delamination is analyzed by the use of SEM The numerical results show that the scanning features of the ultrasonic waves may be used to identify the delamination inside the composite plate.

STUDY ON THE RESPONSE TO LOW-VELOCITY IMPACT OF A composite plate IMPROVED BY SHAPE MEMORY ALLOY

Improvement from the pseudo-elastic effect of shape memory alloy （SMA） on the low-velocity impact （LVI） resistance of a composite plate is investigated by the finite element method （FEM）. The stiffness matrix of the dynamic finite element equation is established step by step and the martensite fraction is obtained at each time step. The direct Newmark integration method is employed in solving the dynamic finite element equation, while the impact contact force is determined using the modified Hertz＇s law. It is found that SMA can effectively improve the performance of a composite structure subjected to low-velocity impact. Numerical results show that the deflection of a SMA-hybrid composite plate has been reduced approximately by thirty percent when the volume fraction of the embedded SMA reaches 0.3.

Second-order two-scale method for bending behavior analysis of composite plate with 3-D periodic configuration and its approximation

This paper analyzes the characteristics of utilizing shape memory e?ect (SME) of shape memory alloy (SMA) in improving the low velocity impact resistance performance of com- posite plate by using ?nite element method. The constitutive relation for SMA hybrid composite plates is presented. The analytic model of ?nite element for SMA composite plate subjected to low velocity impact is established. The modi?ed Hertz’s contact law is used to determine the impact contact force. The computing procedures for solving the ?nite element equation using Newmark direct integration method are given. The numerical modelling results show that the SMA can e?ectively improve the low velocity impact resistance performance of composite plate.

In this paper,we propose an finite element approach based on classical plate theory to investigate the dynamic stability of a layered composite plate subject to nonlinear aerodynamic *** study considers the influence of temperature,nonlinear geometry,and nonlinear aerodynamic load on composite plate structures ***,the present work conduct comparison the results of the critical pressure value between the nonlinear aerodynamic load and the linear aerodynamic load,thereby pointing out some necessary cases which must consider the nonlinearity of aerodynamic load for calculating the aerospace *** determine the critical pressure value and vibrational amplitude response of the plate by means of *** outcomes of our calculations can be useful in designing and repairing body shells and wings of aircraft equipment.

AZ80/Al composite plate was fabricated by means of friction stir processing （FSP） aimed at the improvement of corrosion resistance of magnesium alloy. The cross-section microstructure, surface morphology and corrosion resistance of the Al composite layer were investigated. The experiment results indicated that a dense composite Al layer with superfine and uniform grains was formed, and a few amount of intermetallic compounds existed in the area of Mg/Al interface. The bonding strength of AZ80 magnesium alloy substrate and 1060 pure Al layer was proved to be high which was resulted from the metallurgical bonding of FSP. Microhardness measurement showed the continuous changing of microhardness values from the outmost surface of composite Al layer to the magnesium alloy substrate. Results of electrochemical corrosion test of the composite plate in 5 wt.% NaCl solution showed the better protection effect of the composite Al layer on the magnesium alloy in a corrosion medium. Almost the same corrosion level on the whole corrosion surface was observed which indicated the highly uniform microstructure of the composite layer. It was also proved that the plain arches on the outmost surface of the composite Al layer had no influence on the corrosion resistance of composite Al layer.

Uncertainty propagation in dynamics of composite plates: A semi-analytical non-sampling-based approach

In this study,the influences of spatially varying stochastic properties on free vibration analysis of composite plates were investigated via development of a new approach named the deterministic-stochastic Galerkin-based semi-analytical *** material properties including tensile modulus,shear modulus,and density of the plate were assumed to be spatially varying and *** fields with first-order Markov kernels were utilized to define the aforementioned material *** stochastic fields were decomposed via application of the K arhunen-Loeve theorem.A first-order shear deformation theory was assumed,following which the displacement field was defined using admissible trigonometric modes to derive the potential and kinetic *** stochastic equations of motion of the plate were obtained using the variational *** deterministic-stochastic Galerkin-based method was utilized to find the probability space of natural frequencies,and the corresponding mode shapes of the plate were determined using a polynomial chaos *** proposed method significantly reduced the size of the mathematical models of the structure,which is very useful for enhancing the computational efficiency of stochastic *** methodology was verifed using a stochastic finite element method and the available results in *** sensitivity of natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes due to the uncertainty of material properties was investigated,and the results indicated that the higher-order modes are more sensitive to uncertainty propagation in spatially varying properties.

This paper deals with large amplitude free flexural vibrations of laminated composite plates using a 9-node Heterosis degenerated isoparametric quadrilateral element, including the effects of transverse shear and rotary inertia. The nonlinear dynamic equations of the plates are formulated in von Karman's sense. Amplitude-frequency relationships are obtained through dynamic response history using; the Newmark numerical integration scheme. Detailed numerical results based on various parameters are presented for orthotropic laminated plates with different boundary conditions. The rectangular anti-symmetric cross-ply plates show the softening type of nonlinearity for initial small amplitudes. The displacement amplitudes decrease and nonlinear frequencies increase with the increment of time.
