Thixotropic composite hydrogels based on agarose and inorganic hybrid gellants

Water can be used as oxidant in conjunction with metal particles to form metal-water propellant to increase the energy of *** this application,water needs to be stored in form of solid and capable of becoming liquid when *** and thixotropic hydrogel has good potential as water-retaining material and oxidant of metal-based *** this study,we prepared organic/inorganic composite hydrogels by combining inorganic gellants hectorite and fumed silica with organic gellant agarose,*** total content of the gellants can be reduced to less than 2%by adding *** influence of agarose on water content,phase transition temperature,centrifugal stability and other basic physical properties of composite hydrogels were *** results show that the composite hydrogels have better thixotropy and stability than pure inorganic hydrogels,and the gel-sol transformation can be realized by applying shear force or heating to the phase transition *** composite hydrogels have good shear thinning ability and improved mechanical *** silica/agarose hydrogels have better physical stability,while the thixotropy and shear thinning ability of hectorite/agarose hydrogels are better.

Wound healing in cases of excessive inflammation poses a significant challenge due to compromised ***,we propose a multi-functional composite hydrogel engineered to overcome such conditions through recruitment and activation of macrophages with adapted degradation of the *** composite hydrogel(G-TSrP)is created by combining gelatin methacryloyl(GelMA)and nanoparticles(TSrP)composed of tannic acid(TA)and Sr^(2+).These nanoparticles are prepared using a one-step mineralization process assisted by metal-phenolic network formation.G-TSrP exhibits the ability to eliminate reactive oxygen species and direct polarization of macrophages toward M2 *** has been observed that the liberation of TA and Sr^(2+)from G-TSrP actively facilitate the recruitment and up-regulation of the expression of extracellular matrix remodeling genes of macrophages,and thereby,coordinate in vivo adapted degradation of the *** significantly,G-TSrP accelerates angiogenesis despite the TA’s inhibitory properties,which are counteracted by the released Sr^(2+).Moreover,G-TSrP enhances wound closure under inflammation and promotes normal tissue formation with strong vessel *** analysis confirms macrophage-mediated wound healing by the composite ***,these findings pave the way for the development of biomaterials that promote wound healing by creating regenerative environment.

Construction of physical crosslink-based chitosan/liquid crystal composite hydrogel and evaluation on their cytocompatibility

In order to provide a novel biomimetic composite substrate for tissue engineering and explore the interaction between cells and this type of material,we developed chitosan/liquid crystal(CS/LC)composite hydrogel with embedded LC phases by composing of cholesterol hydroxypropyl cellulose ester liquid crystalline material and *** micromorphology of CS/LC composite hydrogels exhibited‘islands-sea’phase separation structures similar to the‘fluid mosaic model’of *** vitro cell compatibility study suggested that 3T3 is fibroblasts exhibited better initial cell adhesions and higher proliferation rates on the composite hydrogel than on the polystyrene control plate and the pure LC *** novel CS/LC composite hydrogel provides more favorable interface for cell growth and proliferation and may serve as potentially active substrate for engineering interfaces to live cells.

Applicability of alginate-based composite microspheres loaded with aqueous extract of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves in food and pharmaceutical products

To preserve its favorable health and nutritional qualities under processing conditions and oral ingestion,Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaf aqueous extract was encapsulated in composite microspheres based on calcium *** addition of other biopolymers to alginate(ALG)(xanthan gum(XG),casein(CA))influenced molecular interactions(mainly hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions)between microsphere constituents causing the change in microsphere structure and thus physicochemical properties(encapsulation effectiveness and capacity,surface morphology,swelling,stability)as well as the release of total polyphenols(TPC)in distilled water,NaCl solutions and in simulated gastrointestinal *** extent of crosslinking of calcium alginate was altered by blending with XG,CA,or XG+CA,but this did not affect the control mechanism of TPC release detected as *** revealed the unsuitability of calcium alginate microspheres for implementation in food products with high water content,while composite microspheres showed desired reduction in TPC *** best performance(the slowest release and the amount released)for implementation in functional food products containing NaCl exhibited composite microspheres with ALG+XG+*** desired prevention of microsphere degradation in simulated gastro fluids was achieved with ALG+XG+CA microspheres,while in simulated intestinal fluids all microspheres were decomposed and completely released TPC.
