Based on 10 years of statistics concerning economic development in Xi'an as the main part of Guanzhong- Tianshui Economic Zone, this article builds the main indicator system to reflect economic development. Using two mathematical methods( principal component analysis and cluster analysis),we carry out comprehensive evaluation analysis of the main economic indicators,point out the distribution differences in the economic development level in this region,and make classification,in order to provide a scientific basis for the decision- making body to lay down the relevant economic development strategies in accordance with the economic development level and geographical location.

On Some Quality Issues of component Selection in CBSD

We introduce the component data for E-portfolio(Electronic portfolio). E-portfolio) is used to cllect works of students and aimed at learning evaluation, so the components of E-portfolio must be standardized. We do some research on the component data structure of E-portfolio. Based on the features of E-portfolio we use xml file as the storage format of E-portfolio. Thus we can define xsd file which is the structure file of xml file for the users. People can build their E-portfolio on the structure xsd file. In this way E-portfolio based on xsd structure are in same format. That helps for further E-portfolio share and evaluation.

component based development offers many potential benefits, viz. software reuse, reduced time-to-market, inter- operability, ease of quality certification etc. However, it is not always that benefits derived from addition of components from a component repository are more than the costs involved in developing the module from scratch. This work evaluates various software quality models and suggests recommendations for enhancing software quality in COTS (component off-the-shelf) based software products by designing software quality metrics that would help in managing and enhancing quality in component-based software development.

By selecting the time sequence data concerning influencing factors of rural consumer demand in Hebei Province from 2000 to 2010,this paper uses the principal component analysis method in multiplex econometric statistical analysis,constructs the principal component of consumer demand in Hebei Province,conducts regression on the dependent variable of consumer spending per capita in Hebei Province and the principal component of consumer demand so as to get principal component regression,and then conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis on the principal *** results show that total output value per capita (yuan),employment rate,and income gap,are correlative with rural residents' consumer demand in Hebei Province positively;consumer price index,upbringing ratio of children,and one-year interest rate are correlative with rural residents' consumer demand in Hebei Province negatively;the ratio of supporting the elderly and medical care spending per capita are correlative with rural residents' consumer demand in Hebei Province *** corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to promote residents' consumer demand in Hebei Province as follows:develop county economy in Hebei Province and increase rural residents' consumer demand;use industry to support agriculture and coordinate urban-rural development;improve rural medical care and health system and resolve actual difficulties of the masses.

A Mixed Method Approach for Efficient component Retrieval from a component Repository

This study proposes a hybrid approach which is composed of independent component analysis (ICA) and support vector machine (SVM) to identify the fault quality variables when a step-change disturbance existed in a multivariable process. The multivariate statistical process control (MSPC) chart plays an important role in monitoring a multivariate process. However, the use of MSPC chart encounters a difficulty in practice. This difficult issue involves which quality variable or which set of the quality variables is responsible for the generation of the out-of-control signal. The proposed hybrid ICA-SVM scheme first uses ICA to the Hotelling T2 statistics generating independent components (ICs). The hidden useful information of the fault quality variables could be discovered in these ICs. The ICs are then used as the input variables of the SVM for building the classification model. Experimental results shows that the proposed ICA-SVM method can effective detect the fault quality variables in the multivariable process.

A continuing challenge for software designers is to develop efficient and cost-effective software implementations. Many see software reuse as a potential solution;however, the cost of reuse tends to outweigh the potential benefits. The costs of software reuse include establishing and maintaining a library of reusable components, searching for applicable components to be reused in a design, as well as adapting components toward a proper implementation. In this context, a new method is suggested here for component classification and retrieval which consists of K-nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm and Vector space Model Approach. We found that this new approach gives a higher accuracy and precision in component selection and retrieval process compared to the existing formal approaches.

In any parallel system, selecting a component with longer mean lifetime is of interest to the researchers. Hanagal (1997) [1] discussed selection procedures for a two-component system with bivariate exponential (BVE) models. In this paper, the problem of selecting a better component with reference to its mean life time under bivariate Pareto (BVP) models is considered. Three selection procedures based on sample proportions, sample means and maximum likelihood estimators (MLE) are proposed. The probability of correct selection for the proposed procedures is evaluated through Monte Carlo simulation using normal approximation. The asymptotic relative efficiency (ARE) of the proposed procedures is presented to facilitate the evaluation of the performance of procedures.

This paper studies the comprehensive urban competitiveness and performs the principal component analysis. The results show that the comprehensive evaluation of urban competitiveness is not entirely dependent on the city's economic strength or GDP,and it is necessary to consider from resource allocation capacity,openness and public service capacity. By selecting various data concerning 11 prefecture-level cities in Jiangxi Province in 2006,2009 and 2012,this paper gets the ranking results and analyzes trends,to provide a basis for making future economic policy.
