complex oxides with tunable structures have many fascinating properties, though high-quality complex oxide epitaxy with precisely controlled composition is still out of reach. Here we have successfully developed solution-based single-crystalline epitaxy for multiferroic（1-x）BiTi;/;Fe;Mg;/;O;–（x）CaTiO;（BTFM–CTO） solid solution in large area, confirming its ferroelectricity at the atomic scale with strong spontaneous polarization. Careful compositional tuning leads to a bulk magnetization of 0.07 ± 0.035 μB/Fe at room temperature, enabling magnetically induced polarization switching exhibiting a large magnetoelectric coefficient of 2.7–3.0 × 10;s/m. This work demonstrates the great potential of solution processing in large-scale complex oxide epitaxy and establishes novel room-temperature magnetoelectric coupling in epitaxial BTFM–CTO film, making it possible to explore a much wider space of composition,phase, and structure that can be easily scaled up for industrial applications.

Preparation and Water-Gas Shift Catalytic Activities of the Perovskite Type complex oxide La_(1-x) Ce_xFeO_3

The perovskite type rare earth iron complex (REIC) oxide La 1-x Ce xFeO 3 is designed and prepared as water gas shift catalyst. Activity evaluation and heat resisting test show that the perovskite type compounds La 1-x Ce xFeO 3(·K) has a good thermal stability if x is less than or equal to 0.5 . But when x is greater than 0.5 , La 1-x Ce xFeO 3(·K) will turn out to be ceria and magnetite partially or completely at high temperature in the shift reaction atmosphere. In the case of x=0.5, the conversion of carbon monoxide is about 68% at 530 ℃. Potassium can greatly improve the low temperature activity, but slightly lower the high temperature activity, and has little impact on the thermal stability. La 0.5 Ce 0.5 FeO 3 (·K) is a promising chromium free high temperature shift catalyst.

Structural Analysis of Eu_2Mn_(2/3)Ta_ 4/3O_7 with a Pyrochlore-Related Structure

Eu 2Mn 2/3Ta 4/3O 7 specimen was synthesized from Eu 2O 3, MnO and Ta 2O 5 in a reducing atmosphere. Structure analysis was carried out by Rietveld method from X-ray diffraction data. The X-ray diffraction profile calculated with monoclinic C2/c model was in a good agreement with the observed X-ray diffraction patterns since several small peaks of super lattice could be also assigned with C2/c symmetry in addition to fundamental reflection peaks. Eu 2Mn 2/3Ta 4/3O 7 has two kinds of distorted (Mn, Ta)O 6 octahedra and HTB layers, which deviates from the regular forms. Europium atoms coordinate to eight or seven oxygen atoms and lead to two kinds of polyhedra, EuO 8 and EuO 7 in this compound.

Correlation of structural and electrical properties of PrBaCo2O5td thin films at high temperature

Epitaxial PrBaCo_(2)O_(5+δ)(PBCO,0≤δ≤1)thin films were deposited by pulsed laser *** structural and electrical properties of the films were characterized at high temperatures in reduced environments.X-ray diffraction scans at high temperature in reduced environment show potential structural transitions of PBCO as evidenced by both a large(Dl=0.335 nm)expansion of the out-plane(caxis)lattice,due to thermal and chemical expansion,and a step in the expansion of the c-axis lattice *** transitions indicate the presence of oxygen vacancy ordering as the oxygen content in the films is *** measurements under the same environments also show evidence of sharp transitions related with the structural *** study helps the understanding of the structure-property relationship of PBCO at high temperature and provides important technological information to utilize these materials for solid oxide fuel cell at intermediate temperatures.
