Blind channel estimation for redundant precoded OFDM systems

Considering that channel estimation can play a crucial role in coherent detection of the information symbols in each data block, a blind channel estimation approach is proposed for redundant precoded orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing （OFDM） systems. A redundant linear frequency-domain precoder is applied to each pair of blocks before they enter the OFDM system. Because of the introduced structure, the frequency-selective channel can be identified at the receiver based on autocorrelation operations, singular value decomposition （SVD）, and by resolving the scalar ambiguity. The proposed channel estimation method has low computational complexity and requires no prior statistical information on channel or noise. And the proposed blind method has high spectral efficiency owing to exploiting no training sequence. Computer simulations confirm that this proposed blind channel estimation method can identify the frequency-selective channels perfectly and obtain a good performance.

Fuzzy Jamming Pattern Recognition Based on Statistic Parameters of Signal’s PSD

In order to recognize the jamming pattern in anti-jamming, a novel fuzzy jamming recognition method based on statistic parameters of received signal’s power spectral density (PSD) is proposed. It exploits PSD’s shape factor and skewness of received signal as classified characters of jamming pattern. After the mean center and variance of each jamming pattern are calculated by using some jamming samples, an exponential fuzzy membership function is used to calculate the membership value of the recognized sample. Finally, the jamming pattern of received signal is recognized by the maximum membership principle. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can recognize common eight jamming patterns accurately.

Frequency division design sacrifices the built-in macrodiversity gains of 3G systems, making it difficult to fully exploit the advantages of Long Term Evolution （LTE） technology. As a result, for LTE Advanced （LTE-A）, cooperative communication technology is proposed. System-level cooperative communications can maximize system performance. To achieve system-level gains, high spectrum efficiency and reliable performance, cooperative communication technology is required. With the introduction of technologies such as multi-point transmission/reception, intelligent relay, and cooperative antenna, LTE-A system＇ coverage is enhanced. The handover between user terminals can also be stably realized and the traffic and Quality of Service （QoS） in handover areas improved.

Distributed cooperative networks use the cooperation among nodes to fulfill network resource sharing. However, designing an efficient Media Access Control （MAC） protocol is a key issue for the distributed cooperative network. Based on the principle of MAC-layer cooperation, this paper discusses problems and challenges for MAC protocol design in the distributed cooperative network. Through the analysis of typical cooperative MAC protocols and their performance, this paper concludes that only a reasonable MAC protocol design with the features and demands of distributed networks taken into account can make cooperative communication technology a better application in the distributed network.
