Small molecular acceptors(SMAs)BTC-2F and BTH-2F,based on heptacyclic benzodi(cyclopentadithiophene)electron-donating core(CBT)with chlorinated-thienyl conjugated and thienyl conjugated side Chains,respectively,are designed and synthesized.Compared with non-chlorine acceptor BTH-2F,BTC-2F exhibits slightly blue-shifted absorption spectra,similar the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)(-3.91 eV);deeper highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)energy level and higher electron mobility than that of BTH-2F.PM6,a wide bandgap polymer,is selected as the donor material to construct bulk heterojunction polymer solar cells processed with nonhalogenated solvent toluene.The optimized PM6:BTC-2F-based device presents a 12.9%power conversion efficiency(PCE),while the PCE of PM6:BTH-2F-based device is only 11.3%.The results suggest that it is an effective strategy to optimize the photoelectric properties of SMAs by incorporating chlorine atom into the conjugated side Chains.

Gutman and Wagner(in the matching energy of a graph, Disc. Appl. Math., 2012) defined the matching energy of a graph and pointed out that its chemical applications go back to the 1970 s. Now the research on matching energy mainly focuses on graphs with pendent vertices and only a few papers reported the progress on matching energy of graphs without pendent vertices. For a random six-membered ring spiro chain, the number of k-matchings and the matching energy are random variables. In this paper, we determine the extremal graphs with respect to the matching energy for random six-membered ring spiro Chains which have no pendent vertices.

Polymeric nitrogen has attracted much attention owing to its possible application as an environmentally safe high-energy-density material.Based on a crystal structure search method accelerated by the use of machine learning and graph theory and on first-principles calculations,we predict a series of metal nitrides with chain-like polynitrogen(P_(21)-AlN_(6),P2_(1)-GaN_(6),P-1-YN_(6),and P_(4)/mnc-TiN_(8)),all of which are estimated to be energetically stable below 40.8 GPa.Phonon calculations and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations at finite temperature suggest that these nitrides are dynamically stable.We find that the nitrogen in these metal nitrides can polymerize into two types of poly-N^(2-)_(4)Chains,in which theπelectrons are either extended or localized.Owing to the presence of the polymerized N4 Chains,these metal nitrides can store a large amount of chemical energy,which is estimated to range from 4.50 to 2.71 kJ/g.Moreover,these compounds have high detonation pressures and detonation velocities,exceeding those of conventional explosives such as TNT and HMX.

Tight-binding electron-ion dynamics of carbon Chains pumped by intense laser pulses are performed to study the interactions between monatomic carbon Chains and lasers.Laser-induced distortions of carbon Chains,which are enhanced by a long wavelength laser,are investigated.The carbon Chains with a strong laser beam focused on one terminal are simulated to study the disturbance of electronic states.By the superposition of delocalized π band states,the disturbance propagates from the illuminated area to the non-illuminated area in a velocity ofabout 106 m/s at 0 K,and this velocity is weakened at room temperature due to the localization effect of thermal fluctuation.

The pore sizes of traditional zeolites are in the range of0. 3-1. 5 nm,which strongly hinder the diffusion of large reactant and product molecules within the zeolite pores. To compensate for it,we tried to create mesopores in traditional microporous zeolites and retain all advantages of microporous zeolites. Mesoporous Zeolite Socony Mobile-Five( ZSM-5) zeolite was synthesized by a new double ester base long carbon Chains organosilane quaternary ammonium salt as the soft template agent in hydrothermal method.The structure of the acquired zeolite crystals was confirmed by fieldemission scanning electron microscopy( FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy( TEM), nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements and X-ray diffraction( XRD),which indicated that their structure had the same characteristics as traditional ZSM-5 zeolites. Compared with traditional ZSM-5 zeolite,there were 4 nm and 15 nm mesopores in the crystal. The prepared hierarchical porous ZSM-5 zeolite was expected to be effective catalytic materials for chemical reactions involving large molecules.

Integrator based model is used to describe a wide range of systems in robotics. In this paper, we present an axis-coupled trajectory generation algorithm for Chains of integrators with an arbitrary order. Special notice has been given to problems with pre-existing nominal plans, which are common in robotic applications. It also handles various type of constraints that can be satisfied on an entire time interval, including non-convex ones which can be transformed into a series of convex constraints through time segmentation. The proposed approach results in a linearly constrained quadratic programming problem, which can be solved effectively with off-the-shelf solvers. A closed-form solution is achievable with only the boundary constraints considered. Finally, the proposed method is tested in real experiments using quadrotors which represent high-order integrator systems.

The key to fully understanding water-solid interfaces relies on the microscopic nature of hydrogen bond networks,including their atomic structures, interfacial interactions, and dynamic behaviors. Here, we report the observation of two types of simplest water Chains on Au(111) surface which is expected unstable according to the rules of hydrogen network on noble metal surfaces. A common feature at the end of chain structures is revealed in high resolution scanning tunneling microscopy images. To explain the stability in observed hydrogen bond networks,we propose a structure model of the water Chains terminated with a hydroxyl group. The model is consistent with detailed image analysis and molecular manipulation. The observation of simplest water Chains suggests a new platform for exploring fundamental physics in hydrogen bond networks on surfaces.

One fast simulation method using Markov Chains was introduced to simulate angular,energy,and temporal characteristics of pulsed laser beam propagation underwater.Angular dispersion of photons with a different number of collisions was calculated based on scattering function and the state transition matrix of Markov Chains.Temporal distribution and energy on the receiving plane were obtained,respectively,by use of a novel successive layering model and receiving ratio.The validity of this method was verified by comparing it with the Monte Carlo ray tracing(MCRT)method.The simulation results were close to those obtained by MCRT but were less time consuming and had smoother curves.
