Novel magnetic carbon supported molybdenum disulfide catalyst and its application in residue upgrading

Local structural evolutions of CuO/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst for methanol synthesis under operando conditions studied by in situ quick X-ray absorption spectroscopy

In situ quick X-ray absorption spectroscopy(QXAFS) at the Cu and Zn K-edge under operando conditions has been used to unravel the Cu/Zn interaction and identify possible active site of CuO/ZnO/Al_2O_3 catalyst for methanol synthesis. In this work, the catalyst, whose activity increases with the reaction temperature and pressure, was studied at calcined, reduced, and reacted conditions. TEM and EDX images for the calcined and reduced catalysts showed that copper was distributed uniformly at both conditions. TPR profile revealed two reduction peaks at 165 and 195 °C for copper species in the calcined catalyst. QXAFS results demonstrated that the calcined form consisted mainly of a mixed Cu O and Zn O, and it was progressively transformed into Cu metal particles and dispersed Zn O species as the reduction treatment. It was demonstrated that activation of the catalyst precursor occurred via a Cu^+intermediate, and the active catalyst predominantly consisted of metallic Cu and Zn O evenunder higher pressures. Structure of the active catalyst did not change with the temperature or pressure, indicating that the role of the Zn was mainly to improve Cu *** indicates the potential of QXAFS method in studying the structure evolutions of catalysts in methanol synthesis.

Non-phosgene synthesis of hexamethylene-1,6-diisocyanate from thermal decomposition of hexamethylene-1,6-dicarbamate over Zn–Co bimetallic supported ZSM-5 catalyst

A non-phosgene route for the synthesis of hexamethylene-1,6-diisocyanate(HDI) was developed via catalytic decomposition of hexamethylene-1,6-dicarbamate(HDC) over Zn–Co bi-metallic supported ZSM-5 *** catalyst was characterized by FTIR and XRD analyses. Three solvents dioctyl sebacate(DOS), dibutyl sebacate(DBS) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate(BMIMBF_4) were investigated and compared; DOS gave better performance. The catalytic performances for thermal decomposition of HDC to HDI using DOS as solvent were then investigated, and the results showed that, under the optimized reaction conditions, i.e.,10 wt%concentration of HDC in DOS, 250 °C temperature, 60 min reaction time, 83.8% yield of HDI had been achieved over Zn–Co/ZSM-5. Decomposition of the intermediate hexamethylene-1-carbamate-6-isocyanate(HMI) over Zn–Co/ZSM-5 in DOS solvent was further studied and the results indicated that yield of HDI from HMI reached to 69.6%(98.6% HDI selectively) at 270 °C, which further increased the yield of the total HDI(HDI_(tol)) to as high as 95.0%. Recycling of catalyst showed that HDI and HMI yield slightly decreased, and by-product yield increased after the catalyst was reused for 4 times. At last possible reaction mechanism was proposed.

Zirconium-containing UiO-66 as an efficient and reusable catalyst for transesterification of triglyceride with methanol

Zirconium-based MOFs of the UiO family have attracted considerable attention due to their high thermal,chemical and mechanical stability. With the aim of further exploring the applications of zirconium-based UiO-66 in acid-catalyzed reactions and elucidating the effects of the defects in UiO-66 materials on their catalytic performances, in this work, a series of zirconium-containing UiO-66 samples were synthesized by varying the synthesis temperatures and BDC/Zr(terephthalic acid/ZrCl) ratios in the synthesis *** synthesized UiO-66 samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Nadsorption-desorption,scanning electron microscopy(SEM), thermogravimetrical analysis(TGA), temperature-programmed desorption of NH(NH-TPD). Their catalytic performances were investigated in transesterification of tributyrin and soybean oil with methanol. The results showed that UiO-66 samples with different amounts of defects could be successfully prepared by varying the synthesis temperatures and/or the BDC/Zr ratios used in the synthesis system. The catalytic activities of the UiO-66 materials greatly depended on their linker defects and enhanced with the increase of the defect amount. The UiO-66 was an efficient catalyst for transesterification of tributyrin and soybean oil with methanol under mild reaction conditions and its catalytic activity was comparable to other solid acid catalysts reported in the literatures. The UiO-66 catalyst was relatively stable and could be reused.

Deep oxidative desulfurization of gas oil based on sandwich-type polysilicotungstate supported β-cyclodextrin composite as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst

In this work,in order to obtain deep clean gas oil,a novel organic–inorganic hybrid(n-C4H9)4N)7H5Si2W18Cd4O68@β-cyclodextrin(abbreviated as TBA-Si WCd@β-CD)composite was synthesized by supporting quaternary ammonium salt of sandwich-type polysilicotungstate onβ-cyclodextrin(TBA-SiWCd@β-CD)as an efficient catalyst for oxidative desulfurization(ODS)of gas *** successful composition of the materials explained by the formation of host–guest inclusion complex,which confirmed through FTIR,UV–vis,XRD,SEM,and EDX characterization *** results revealed that the levels of sulfur content and mercaptan compounds of gas oil lowered with 97%removal *** with the ODS treatment of gas oil,the TBA-Si WCd@β-CD composite showed an outstanding catalytic performance for the oxidation of dibenzothiophene(DBT)in the prepared model *** main factors that influence the desulfurization efficiency and the kinetic study of the ODS process were *** prepared heterogeneous catalyst was found to give remarkable reusability for five runs without a discernible decrease in its *** study suggested the potential application of the TBA-Si WCd@β-CD catalyst for removal of hazardous sulfur compounds from gas oil fuel.

Study of cerium-promoted rhodium alumina catalyst as a steam reforming catalyst for treatment of spent solvents

This study attempted to develop an appropriate catalyst used for the steam reforming of gasified spent solvents. Rh2O3/ CeOE-Al2O3 catalysts with various CeO2 loadings were prepared and heated at different temperatures of 500 and 800 ℃, and their surface properties were studied using X-ray diffraction （XRD）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, temperature programmed reduction （TPR） and Bmmauer-Emmett-Teller （BET） analyses. Rhodium existed in the form of Rh2O3, regardless of the sample composition as well as the heating temperature. In the tested range of cerium addition （up to 12 times the rhodium mass）, no significant changes in BET surface areas and binding energy corresponding to Rh 3d5/2 were observed. Instead, the addition of cerium led to a greatly enhanced dispersion of rhodium nanoparticles, and no agglomeration of rhodium was observed for samples heated even at 800 ℃. Honeycomb monolith rhodium catalysts promoted with cerium were fabricated and tested for the steam reforming of a gasified spent solvent, mainly consisting of butylene （C4H8）. The test results suggested that a cerium-promoted rhodium catalyst could be used as an appropriate reforming catalyst for treating low-quality non-methane hydrocarbons without the formation of coke at high temperatures of up to 900 ℃.

High nitrogen carbon material with rich defects as a highly efficient metal-free catalyst for excellent catalytic performance of acetylene hydrochlorination

In this work,we developed a simple strategy to synthesize a carbon material with high nitrogen and rich carbon *** approach polymerized diaminopyridine(DAP) and ammonium persulfate(APS).Following a range of different temperature pyrolysis approaches,the resulting rough surface was shown to exhibit edge defects due to N-doping on graphite carbon.A series of catalysts were evaluated using a variety of characterization techniques and tested for catalytic *** catalytic performance of the N-doped carbon material enhanced alongside an increment in carbon *** NC-800 catalyst exhibited outstanding catalytic activity and stability in acetylene hydrochlorination(C_(2) H_(2) GHSV=30 h^(-1),at 220℃,the acetylene conversion rate was 98%),with its stability reaching up to 450 *** to NC-800 having a nitrogen content of up to 13.46%,it had the largest specific surface area and a high defect amount,as well as strong C_(2) H_(2) and HCl ***-800 has excellent catalytic activity and stability to reflect its unlimited potential as a carbon material.

Effect of PdOx structure properties on catalytic performance of Pd/Ce0.67Zr0.33O2 catalyst for CO,HC and NOx elimination

Pd/Ce0.67Zr0.33O2 catalyst was pretreated in different atmosphere respectively, and characterized by CO chemical adsorption, XPS, HR-TEM, H2-TPR, Raman, OSC and in situ DRIFTS to investigate the effect of the structure properties of PdOx species on the catalytic performance for CO, HC and NOx elimination. The results show that Pd/CZ catalyst pretreated in air atmosphere has higher oxidation activity of HC due to having high Pd dispersion and strong interaction between PdOx and CZ support. Pd/CZ-H catalyst pretreated in reducing atmosphere exhibits better catalytic performance of NOx elimination because of having relatively big Pd particle size, more Pd species in metallic state and higher concentration of oxygen vacancies. While for the Pd/CZ-RG catalyst pretreated in reactant atmosphere, strong adsorption of HC species on the surface of catalysts would lead to a part of active sites being covered, which inhibits HC and NO conversions.
