Biological databases serve as a global fundamental infrastructure for the worldwide scientific community,which dramatically aid the transformation of big data into knowledge discovery and drive significant innovations in a wide range of research fields.Given the rapid data production,biological databases continue to increase in size and importance.To build a catalog of worldwide biological databases,we curate a total of 5825 biological databases from 8931 publications,which are geographically distributed in 72 countries/regions and developed by 1975 institutions(as of September 20,2022).We further devise a z-index,a novel index to characterize the scientific impact of a database,and rank all these biological databases as well as their hosting institutions and countries in terms of citation and z-index.Consequently,we present a series of statistics and trends of worldwide biological databases,yielding a global perspective to better understand their status and impact for life and health sciences.An up-to-date catalog of worldwide biological databases,as well as their curated meta-information and derived statistics,is publicly available at Database Commons(https://***/databasecommons/).

This article presents a list of insect types preserved in Kunming Natural History Museum of Zoology （KNHMZ）. As of March, 2015, 3412 type specimens belonging to 266 species/subspecies of 37 families in 9 orders （Odonata, Isoptera, Mantodea, Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera） are included. Information corrections of some specimens are provided in this article.

涨套参数化设计方法研究与实现

为了提高零件模型设计的工作效率,在分析比较两种型号涨套结构的基础上,提取了9个尺寸参数和8个特征参数,拟定并实现了分类型、同类型和超级副本三种参数化设计方案。基于涨套的设计方案,指出了参数化设计方案与一般设计方案相比的优点,并对比分析了三种参数化设计方案的特点,指出三种参数化设计方案在实际生产设计中的适用范围。通过CATIA软件中的catalog功能,在以上不同的参数化设计方案的基础上,分别建立了零件库与特征库。

catalog of Enhanced Geothermal Systems based on Heat Sources

It is common sense that a deeper well implies higher temperature in the exploration of deep geothermal resources, especially with hot dry rock(HDR) geothermal resources, which are generally exploited in terms of enhanced geothermal systems(EGS). However, temperature is always different even at the same depth in the upper crust due to different heat sources. This paper summarizes the heat sources and classifies them into two types and five sub-types: crustorigin(partial melting, non-magma-generated tectonic events and radiogenic heat production), and mantle-origin(magma and heat conducted from the mantle). A review of global EGS sites is presented related to the five sub-types of heat sources. According to our new catalog, 71% of EGS sites host mantle-origin heat sources. The temperature logging curves indicate that EGS sites which host mantle-origin magma heat sources have the highest temperature. Therefore, high heat flow(>100 m W/m^(2)) regions with mantle-origin magma heat sources should be highlighted for the future exploration of EGS. The principle to identify the heat source is elucidated by applying geophysical and geochemical methods including noble gas isotope geochemistry and lithospheric thermal structure analysis. This analytical work will be helpful for the future exploration and assessment of HDR geothermal resources.

A test on methods for MC estimation based on earthquake catalog

This study tested five methods widely used in estimating the complete magnitudes(M_C) of earthquake catalogs. Using catalogs of observed earthquake properties, we test the performance of these five algorithms under several challenging conditions, such as small volume of events and spatial-temporal heterogeneity, in order to see whether the algorithms are stable and in agreement with known data. We find that the maximum curvature method(MAXC) has perfect stability, but will significantly underestimate M_C unless heterogeneity is absent. M_C estimated by the b-value stability method(MBS) requires many events to reach a stable result. Results from the goodness of fit method(GFT) were unstable when heterogeneity lowered the fitness level. The entire magnitude range method(EMR) is relatively stable in most conditions, and can reflect the change in M_C when heterogeneity exists, but when the incomplete part of the earthquake catalog is dismissed, this method fails. The median-based analysis of the segment slope method(MBASS) can tolerate small sample size, but is incapable of reflecting the missing degree of small events in aftershock sequences. In conditions where M_C changes rapidly, such as in aftershock sequences, observing the time sequence directly can give a precise estimation of the complete sub-catalog, but only when the number of events available for study is large enough can the MAXC, GFT, and MBS methods give a similarly reliable estimation.

Estimation of Earthquake Hazard Parameters Based on the Unequal-Accuracy catalog

In this paper,the maximum likelihood estimation of earthquake hazard parameters(β,Mmax)is extended to those data including incomplete and uncertain parts.We calculated earthquake hazard parameters of the Fenwei seismic belt,and the border area between Shaanxi,Sichuan,Hubei and Henan Provinces.The result is comparatively stable and gives an objective evaluation of earthquake hazard.

地图分幅是指按一定方式将广大地区的地图划分成尺寸适宜的若干单幅地图,以便于地图制作和使用。结合我国的实际领土和领海范围,以及不同比例尺下的经差和纬差的规定,在Arc catalog环境下建立用于存储地图分幅数据的shapefile文件,计算点的经纬度坐标值,编制在不同比例尺下的地图分幅软件。地图分幅软件的实现能更准确地描绘出大庆油田数据在不同比例尺下的覆盖范围,以及辅助查询大庆油田西气东输管道工程数据所穿越的图幅。
