The interactions between granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) and dextran sulfate / κ-carrageenan oligosaccharide were studied by capillary zone electrophoresis. Dextran sulfate could strongly interact with G-CSF and the complex was detected. The binding constant and stoichiometry were determined to be 1.2×106 (mol/L)-1 and 3:1, respectively. However, the interaction between κ-carrageenan oligosaccharide and G-CSF was not found.

The composition of laminarin was firstly determined by analyzing its hydrolysis monosaccharides with capillary zone electrophoresis-amperometric detection (CZE-AD). Under the selected optimum conditions, fucose, galactose, glucose, mannose and xylose, which are hydrolysis products of laminarin, could be perfectly separated within 20 min and showed significant current responses at copper electrodes. The linear ranges of fucose, galactose and glucose were from 1.0×10 -6 to 2.0×10 -4 mol·L -1, those of mannose and xylose were from 5.0×10 -6 to 2.0×10 -4 mol·L -1, and their detection limits were at 10 -7 mol·L -1 level (S/N=3). The molar ratio of fucose, galactose, glucose, mannose and xylose in laminarin was 10.5∶2.8∶1.0∶7.3∶3.4 and the purity of this polysaccharide leached by the introduced leaching method was 95.7%. Compared to usual UV-vis and other spectrometric methods, analyzing polysaccharide by this method has some merits of quickness, low-volume sampling, simple instrumentation, high sensitivity and high reproducibility.

Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease in the ***-arrestin-2 has been reported to be an important protein involved in D2 dopamine receptor desensitization,which is essential to Parkinson’s ***,the potential value of pharmacological inactivation of G protein-coupled receptor kinase or arrestin in the treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease has recently been *** studied the interaction between D2 dopamine receptor and beta-arrestin-2 and the pharmacological regulation of chemical compounds on such interaction using capillary zone *** results from screening more than 40 compounds revealed three compounds that remarkably inhibit the beta-arrestin-2/D2 dopamine receptor interaction among *** compounds are promising therapies for Parkinson’s disease,and the method used in this study has great potential for application in large-scale drug screening and evaluation.

A Novel Method for Quantification of Circulating DNA in Serum by capillary zone electrophoresis

In this paper, we first presented a novel method for quantification of circulating DNA in human serum based on capillary zone electrophoresis with laser-induced fluorescence detection (CZE-LIF). The serum was digested by proteinase to release free DNA, and then CZE-LIF system was used for the quantification of total circulating DNA. This method was successfully used to quantify the circulating DNA levels in sera from healthy individuals and certain cancer patients. We found the significantly elevated circulating DNA levels in certain prostate cancer patients. Our results demonstrated that CZE-LIF system has good linearity, excellent sensitivity (0.5 ng/mL DNA), satisfactory reproducibility (RSDs in one day and between days were both less than 5%) and reliability, and is well suitable to the quantification of the circulating DNA in human serum or plasma.

A novel micelle to solvent stacking on-line sample preconcentration technique in capillary zone electrophoresis（MSS-CZE） has been developed to determine the strychnine and brucine in traditional Chinese medicine *** optimal running buffer was 30 mmol/L H_3PO_4 containing 20%acetonitrile at pH *** sample matrix was 8 mmol/L H_3PO_4 containing 5 mmol/L sodium dodecyl sulfate（SDS） at pH *** established MSS-CZE method afforded more than 50-fold improvements in concentration sensitivity compared with typical CZE-UV *** calibration curve was linear in the range from 0.2 to 15.0μg/ mL for both strychnine and brucine,with correlation coefficients of 0.9984 and 0.9976,*** limits of detection（5/ N = 3：1） for strychnine and brucine were 0.02 and 0.05μg/mL,*** MSS-CZE method has been successfully applied to the analysis of strychnine and brucine in Chinese medicinal preparations.

Cyclodextrin-modified CZE was applied to the chiral separation of two basic drugs, i.e., esmolol and terazosin. Selector screening and concentration optimization experiments were performed. Resolution 3.1 for esmolol, 1.2 for terazosin were achieved when using 60 mmol/L gamma-CD and 60 mmoL/L DM-P-CD, respectively, in 50 mmol/L pH 2.5 sodium phosphate buffer.

The present paper covers the separation and determination of cytosine , 9-N-di- hydroxypropyltheophylline , theobromine , adenine , guanine , uracil , theophylline , 1-hydroxyethyl-5-fluorouracil , xanthine , uric acid , 6-mercaptopurine , 5-fluo- rouracil and 1 -propionyloxyuracil by capillary zone electrophoresis. In an uncoated silica capillary(70 cm ×75 μm i. d. effective length 63 cm) , thirteen bases could be separated within 1 1 min under the optimum conditions : 0. 01 mol/L(pH 10. 0) bo- rate buffer, 40℃ , 15 kV, 260 nm and 2 s load. Efficiencies up to 3. 1 ×105 theoreti- cal plates (4. 9 ×105 plates/m) were achieved.

Ionic liquid （1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, 1E-3MI-TFB） and HP-β- CD as modifier was added to the buffer to separate hyperoside, luteolin and chlorogenic acid. Experiments explored the effect of concentration of 1E-3MI-TFB and HP-β-CD on separation. The results indicated that 1.0 mmol/L HP-β-CD and 1%0 （v/v） 1E-3MI-TFB added to the buffer simultaneously could achieve a good compromise of resolution and analysis time. capillary experiments and UV spectra indicated that there was interaction between 1E-3MI-TFB and analytes.
