Objective To explore the correlation between serum, heavy metal and semen quality in normal Chinese young menMethods This study was designed as a multi-center cross-sectional investigation. The subjects consisted of 562 male vomunteers who had undergone premarital physical examination in maternal and children health centers in 7 provinces in China. Results Results from Spearman rank correlation analysis (partial variable: region) show that serum lead and cadmium are negatively related to percentage of morphological normal sperm, but canonical correlation between semen quality and serum heavy metal are not significant. canonical correlation analysis among the subjects from Guizhou shows cadmium is harmful to sperm morphology. In Henan, furthermore, results show lead and cadmium could negatively affect sperm viability and morphology. Conclusion Among all study subjects, canonical correlation between semen quality and serum heavy metal were not significant; however, results in some region showed serum cadmium and lead might be harmful to sperm quality.

I select effective irrigated area, consumption of agricultural chemical fertilizer, electricity consumed in rural areas, and total power of agricultural machinery as input variables of China's agriculture; I select grain, bean, tobacco, oil-bearing crop and fruit as output variables of China's agriculture. By using the data of China Statistical Yearbook in 2010, based on the analysis method of canonical correlation, I conduct research on the input and output of China's agriculture. The results show that consumption of chemical fertilizer has the biggest impact on the agricultural output of China, followed by the input of total power of agricultural machinery; the canonical variable of agricultural output of China is mainly impacted by grain, oil-bearing crop and fruit; in terms of the selected variables, the output increase of grain, oil-bearing crop and fruit in China arises from the input increase of agricultural chemical fertilizer and machinery, and there is high-degree correlation between the two. According to the conclusions, the policy suggestions are put forward as follows: gradually decrease consumption of chemical fertilizer; increase the use of modern agricultural machinery; increase agricultural irrigation input.

[Objective] This study aimed to provide referential basis for ecosystem study of Hebei Province in the new decade of 21st century, by investigating the correlation between natural subsystem and economic subsystem. [Method] The correlation between natural subsystem and economic subsystem in ecosystem was discussed by means of the canonical correlation, and the correlation between variables was explored with statistical data. [Result] The canonical correlation between the two subsystems could be explained by three groups of typical variables, Le., the canonical correlation between crop production and consumption; the canonical correlation between agricultural crop production, aquaculture and scientific research development funds; and the canonical correlation between forest area and GDP per capita. With the growth of economy and revenue and the steady development of agricultural production, there are still some serious problems, including the change of residents consumption is out of proportion to its material consumption; the socio-economic development depends on consuming of forests more heavily, which destroy the balance between the economic growth and environmental protection. [Conclusion] The results provide referential basis for the ecosystem study of Hebei Province.

Functional data analysis: An application to COVID-19 data in the United States in 2020

Background: In this paper, we conduct an analysis of the COVID-19 data in the United States in 2020 via functional data analysis methods. Through this research, we investigate the effectiveness of the practice of public health measures, and assess the correlation between infections and deaths caused by the COVID-19. Additionally, we look into the relationship between COVID-19 spread and geographical locations, and propose a forecasting method to predict the total number of confirmed cases ***: The functional data analysis methods include functional principal analysis methods, functional canonical correlation analysis methods, an expectation-maximization (EM) based clustering algorithm and a functional time series model used for ***: It is evident that the practice of public health measures helps to reduce the growth rate of the epidemic outbreak over the nation. We have observed a high canonical correlation between confirmed and death cases. States that are geographically close to the hot spots are likely to be clustered together, and population density appears to be a critical factor affecting the cluster structure. The proposed functional time series model gives more reliable and accurate predictions of the total number of confirmed cases than standard time series ***: The results obtained by applying the functional data analysis methods provide new insights into the COVID-19 data in the United States. With our results and recommendations, the health professionals can make better decisions to reduce the spread of the epidemic, and mitigate its negative effects to the national public health.

Rural economic development can differ intensely among municipalities within the same region. The economic activity disparity among them makes public policy actions difficult. It is possible to find highly efficient and globally competitive producers, as well as those producing for subsistence, in the same area. This disparity stands out the total productivity importance of the factors of production in the agricultural sector, especially the productivity of the land. The way the land is occupied in the rural area, namely crops, pastures, reforestation and other areas, can be indicative of the productivity of the land factor and the value of agricultural production. The products that compose the value of the agricultural production present different land occupation through their own productive characteristic. The main objective of this work was to measure the association between the production value of groups of agricultural products and the diversified uses of the rural area in the production of the municipalities in the state of Sao Paulo. In this research, 52 agricultural products produced in 2008 were used, grouped in five production value variables and other nine variables of the land use in production of the municipalities in Sao Paulo. The multivariate statistical technique of canonical correlation was used to measure the association between the product variables group of the production value with the land use group in agricultural activities. It was concluded that there is a strong correlation （94.3%） in the first pair of canonical variables, representing the production value and the land use, allowing groups of municipalities to be formed at different stages of development in agricultural production. It can be verified that 61.8% of the municipalities in the state were below the average in the production group and land use and that only 4.8% were above average for the production variables group and with values below the average in land use. Breeding programs have sought to determine the minimum period of genotype evaluation, which is a long term-process. The objective of this work was to determine the association between qualitative traits of yellow passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims) and relate maturity to other characteristics. To carry out this work, 113 families of full-sibs and half-sibs were planted in Viçosa (MG), Brazil, in a randomized block experimental design arranged in sets (treatment groups). The association between the analyzed characteristics was studied using path analysis and canonical correlation techniques. It was found that lower-yielding but larger-fruit bearing genotypes of passion fruit plant also require more days until reaching anthesis. Round-shaped fruits are linked to higher contents of total soluble solids. More intense pulp color also indicates higher contents of total soluble solids. The riper the fruit, the more intensely orange is the color of the pulp. The ratio between the levels of total soluble solids and total titrimetric acidity was the main determinant of pulp color for passion fruit.

Analysis on the Influencing Factors of Job Burnout of Nurses in Haikou Tertiary Hospital

Objective: To understand the influencing factors of job burnout among nurses in Haikou 3A hospital and explore its direct and indirect effects, so as to provide a scientific basis for the work efficiency of nursing staff. Methods: Between November 2, 2015 and November 2015, using multi stage random sampling, self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted among 1049 nursing staff, using the path analysis method to study the effect of direct and indirect factors effect. Results: The total score of job burnout of nurses was 38.44 ± 7.55, high occupational burnout was 0.9%, moderate occupational burnout was 66.5%, and low occupational burnout was 32.6%. The scores of job burnout were compared among the nurses with different titles, and less achievement (F = 8.342, P canonical correlation coefficient was 0.4397 (F = 20.54, P canonical correlation coefficient of job burnout and job satisfaction of nurses was 0.3791 (F = 12.8, P 5 dimensions of work pressure source (0.125) > title (−0.112) job satisfaction scores (−0.097). Conclusion: Job stress, job satisfaction and job title are the factors that affect job burnout.
