An Appraisal of the Major National Dialogue as a Panacea to the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon

This paper explores the Major National Dialogue organised by Paul Biya from the 30th of September to the 4th of October,2019 as a panacea to the *** paper also seeks to find out if this dialogue has been the panacea Cameroonians as a whole and the people of Southern Cameroons in particular have been waiting for to end this *** research uses a qualitative research *** is because the researcher culled information from Jeune Afrique Economie(2019a),Cameroon Tribune,and from *** analysis was used to analyse the collected *** analysis is used to get the views of the public whether the Major National Dialogue was really a panacea to the Anglophone *** analysis revealed that there were two opposing opinions on the holding of this *** government thinks the dialogue was a panacea to put an end to this crisis because there is ongoing construction work in the war zones,and economic activities have witnessed an increase in the regions as the various production units of the Cameroon Development Corporation(CDC)and Pamol plantations have regained agricultural *** Ndawara tea estate now functions without ***-border trade is on the rise and transportation is fluid,except in the rural areas where the state of the road network is poor to name but *** the other hand,politicians,political parties like the Social Democratic Front,activists,religious leaders,the affected populations,and Cameroonians at large think that the Major National Dialogue was a monologue and therefore was bound to fail because first,key actors arrested and detained in connection to this crisis were not part of this *** this reason,they are calling for a genuine and an inclusive *** addition,they argue that we cannot be talking of peace when fighting is still raging on and people are being killed,houses and schools are being burnt,and people are being kidnapped every day for ransom to mention but t

Theoretical analyses of stock correlations affected by subprime crisis and total assets: Network properties and corresponding physical mechanisms

In the field of statistical mechanics and system science, it is acknowledged that the financial crisis has a profound influence on stock market. However, the influence of total asset of enterprise on stock quote was not considered in the previous studies. In this work, a modified cross-correlation matrix that focuses on the influence of total asset on stock quote is introduced into the analysis of the stocks collected from Asian and American stock markets, which is different from the previous studies. The key results are obtained as follows. Firstly, stock is more greatly correlated with big asset than with small asset. Secondly, the higher the correlation coefficient among stocks, the larger the eigenvector is. Thirdly, in different periods, like the pre-subprime crisis period and the peak of subprime crisis period, Asian stock quotes show that the component of the third eigenvector of the cross-correlation matrix decreases with the asset of the enterprise ***, by simulating the threshold network, the small network constructed by 10 stocks with large assets can show the large network state constructed by 30 stocks. In this research we intend to fully explain the physical mechanism for understanding the historical correlation between stocks and provide risk control strategies in the future.

Population-influenced spatiotemporal pattern of natural disaster and social crisis in China, AD1–1910

Researchers mostly ascribe contemporary natural disaster and the concomitant social crisis to anomalous climate change or global warming. However, whether such a relationship is still valid in long-term historical settings remains doubtful. In this study, data obtained from historical records about natural calamities(flood and drought) and their social impacts(famine,cannibalism, and war) at provincial and decadal scales during AD1–1910 are applied to mathematical statistics such as correlation and regression analysis as well as spatial visualization. Also, the role of population in the nexus of meteorological catastrophes and human miseries is investigated. Results show that at the provincial scale, generally there is high consistency among different variables and most of them are clustered in eastern part of China, especially in the north. More in-depth examinations indicate regional disparities that variables account for higher proportion in the south during the later imperial era,which may be attributed to the southward movement of population center. At the decadal scale, drought is the primary contributor to famine and cannibalism, while severe or even out-of-control famine i.e. cannibalism is more likely to incur war than ordinary famine per se. Besides, population growth rate exerts its positive effect on natural hazards and food crises, whereas more wars bring population loss and relieve population stress despite the weak negative association. These findings supplement previous views and confirm that the distributions of disasters in ancient China are affected by population rather than climatic variability, which only determines the occurrence of disaster.

Analysis of crisis for Producing Supertransients

We report a crisis that is induced by an escape from a fat strange set formed by the forward images of an oscillating discontinuity borderline. It is analytically and numerically shown that the iteration lifetime obeys the universal power-law dependence on the controlling parameter and the scaling exponent takes an exceptional large value, i.e. ν = 1.72±0.04. The strange repeller, which appears after the crisis, is also a fat fractal. To our knowledge, this is the first example for a new mechanism that produces supertransients.

Global analyses of crisis and stochastic bifurcation in the hardening Helmholtz-Duffing oscillator

crisis and stochastic bifurcation of the hardening Helmholtz-Duffing oscillator are studied by means of the generalized cell mapping method using *** the system subject to a single deterministic harmonic excitation,our study reveals that a series of crisis phenomena can occur when the system parameter passes through different critical values,including chaotic boundary crisis,regular boundary crisis and interior crisis.A chaotic boundary crisis due to the collision of regular attractor with chaotic saddle embedded in a fractal basin boundary and an interior crisis due to the collision of regular attractor with chaotic saddle of its attraction basin are discovered.A new phenomenon,namely the global properties of dynamical system show symmetric as system parameter is varied,can be also revealed according to our *** the system subject to a combination of a deterministic harmonic excitation and a random excitation,it is found that stochastic bifurcation,defined as a sudden change in character of a stochastic attractor,can occur one after another when the noise intensity passes through different critical *** kind of stochastic bifurcation corresponds to stochastic crisis *** study also reveals that the generalized cell mapping method using digraph is a powerful tool not only for the crisis behavior analysis of deterministic system,but also for the global property analysis of stochastic bifurcation.

Celiac crisis, a rare occurrence in adult celiac disease: A systematic review

BACKGROUND Celiac crisis(CC), a potentially life-threatening condition, is one of the rare clinical presentations of celiac disease(CD). Several cases have been documented in the literature, mostly in *** To perform a review of CC cases reported in adult CD *** A systematic search of the literature was conducted in two databases,PubMed/MEDLINE and EMBASE, using the term "celiac crisis" and its variant"coeliac crisis", from January 1970 onwards. Altogether, 29 articles reporting 42 biopsy-proven cases were found in the search. Here, we summarized the demographic, clinical characteristics, laboratory and diagnostic work-ups, and therapeutic management in these *** Among the 42 CD cases, the median age was 50 years(range 23-83), with a 2:1 female to male ratio. The majority of patients(88.1%) developed CC prior to CDdiagnosis, while the remaining were previously diagnosed CD cases reporting low adherence to a gluten-free diet(GFD). Clinically, patients presented with severe diarrhea(all cases), weight loss(about two thirds) and, in particular situations, with neurologic(6 cases) or cardiovascular(1 case) manifestations or bleeding diathesis(4 cases). One in four patients had a precipitating factor that could have triggered the CC(e.g. trauma, surgery, infections). Laboratory workup of patients revealed a severe malabsorptive state with metabolic acidosis,dehydration, hypoalbuminemia and anemia. The evolution of GFD was favorable in all cases except one, in whom death was reported due to refeeding *** Celiac crisis is a rare but severe and potentially fatal clinical feature of CD. A high index of suspicion is needed to recognize this clinical entity and to deliver proper therapy consisting of supportive care and, subsequently, GFD.
