Integrated CO_(2) capture and conversion of(ICCC)is one of the most effective solutions to reduce anthropogenic CO_(2) emissions,which has attracted extensive public attention.Dual functional materials(DFMs),including adsorbent and catalyst,are the key components to achieve ICCC.Magnesium oxide(MgO)is an ideal adsorbent for ICCC,since it is characterized by high theoretical adsorption capacity,low cost,low energy consumption and extensive sources.It can also be used as DFMs in combination with the Ni catalysts.MgO not only can act as an adsorbent in DFMs but also enhance the catalytic performance of Ni.This review summarizes the advantages and modification methods of MgO as adsorbent and the influence of its adsorption conditions on the adsorption performance.Moreover,the important role of MgO in facilitating the catalytic conversion of CO_(2) is highlighted.Future research focuses are proposed for the development of MgO based DFMs with high adsorption capacity,high stability,conversion,and selectivity as well as low cost and energy consumption.

conversion/alloying materials(CAMs)represent a potential alternative to graphite as a Li-ion anode active material,especially for high-power applications.So far,however,essentially all studies on CAMs have been dealing with nano-sized particles,leaving the question of how the performance(and the de-/lithiation mechanism in general)is affected by the particle size.Herein,we comparatively investigate four different samples of Zn_(0.9)Co_(0.1)O with a particle size ranging from about 30 nm to a few micrometers.The results show that electrodes made of larger particles are more susceptible to fading due to particle displacement and particle cracking.The results also show that the conversion-type reaction in particular is affected by an increasing particle size,becoming less reversible due to the formation of relatively large transition metal(TM)and alloying metal nanograins upon lithiation,thus hindering an efficient electron transport within the initial particle,while the alloying contribution remains essentially unaffected.The generality of these findings is confirmed by also investigating Sn_(0.9)Fe_(0.1)O_(2) as a second CAM with a substantially greater contribution of the alloying reaction and employing Fe instead of Co as a TM dopant.

BACKGROUND The prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)combined with portal and hepatic vein cancerous thrombosis is poor,for unresectable patients the combination of targeted therapy and immune therapy was the first-line recommended treatment for advanced HCC,with a median survival time of only about 2.7-6 months.In this case report,we present the case of a patient with portal and hepatic vein cancerous thrombosis who achieved pathologic complete response after conversion therapy.CASE SUMMARY In our center,a patient with giant HCC combined with portal vein tumor thrombus and hepatic vein tumor thrombus was treated with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE),radiotherapy,targeted therapy and immunotherapy,and was continuously given icaritin soft capsules for oral regulation.After 7 months of conversion therapy,the patient's tumor shrank and the tumor thrombus subsided significantly.The pathology of surgical resection was in complete remission,and there was no progression in the postoperative follow-up for 7 months,which provided a basis for the future strategy of combined conversion therapy.CONCLUSION In this case,atezolizumab,bevacizumab,icaritin soft capsules combined with radiotherapy and TACE had a good effect.For patients with hepatocellular carcinoma combined with hepatic vein/inferior vena cava tumor thrombus,adopting a high-intensity,multimodal proactive strategy under the guidance of multidisciplinary team(MDT)is an important attempt to break through the current treatment dilemma.

Background:This study aimed to determine the reasons for conversion and elucidate the safety and efficacy of transition to tenofovir alafenamide/emtricitabine/bictegravir sodium(TAF/FTC/BIC)in highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART)-experienced HIV-infected patients in real-world settings.Methods:We conducted a retrospective cohort study.The treatment conversion rationales,safety,and effectiveness in 1684 HIV-infected patients with previous HAART experience who switched to TAF/FTC/BIC were evaluated at Beijing Ditan Hospital from September 2021 to Auguest 2022.Results:Regimen simplification(990/1684,58.79%)was the most common reason for switching,followed by osteoporosis or osteopenia(375/1684,22.27%),liver dysfunction(231/1684,13.72%),decline in tenofovir alafenamide/emtricitabine/elvitegravir/cobicistat(TAF/FTC/EVG/c)with food restriction(215/1684,12.77%),virological failure(116/1684,6.89%),and renal dysfunction(90/1684,5.34%).In patients receiving non-nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors(NNRTI)-containing regimens,lipid panel changes 1 year after switching indicated a difference of 3.27±1.10 mmol/L vs.3.40±1.59 mmol/L in triglyceride(P=0.014),4.82±0.74 mmol/L vs.4.88±0.72 mmol/L in total cholesterol(P=0.038),3.09±0.70 mmol/L vs.3.18±0.66 mmol/L in low-density lipoprotein(Pconversion to TAF/FTC/BIC for HAA

Mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR) inhibitor as an attractive drug target with promising antitumor effects has been widely investigated. High quality clinical trial has been conducted in liver transplant(LT) recipients in Western countries. However, the pertinent studies in Eastern world are paucity. Therefore, we designed a clinical trial to test whether sirolimus can improve recurrence-free survival(RFS) in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) patients beyond the Milan criteria after LT. This is an open-labeled, single-arm, prospective, multicenter, and real-world study aiming to evaluate the clinical outcomes of early switch to sirolimus-based regimens in HCC patients after LT. Patients with a histologically proven HCC and beyond the Milan criteria will be enrolled. The initial immunosuppressant regimens are center-specifc for the frst 4-6 weeks. The following regimens integrated sirolimus into the regimens as a combination therapy with reduced calcineurin inhibitors based on the condition of patients and centers. The study is planned for 4 years in total with a 2-year enrollment period and a 2-year follow-up. We predict that sirolimus conversion regimen will provide survival benefts for patients particular in the key indicator RFS as well as better quality of life. If the trial is conducted successfully, we will have a continued monitoring over a longer follow-up time to estimate indicator of overall survival. We hope that the outcome will provide better evidence for clinical decision-making and revising treatment guidelines based on Chinese population data.

Background:The calcineurin inhibitor(CNI)-based immune maintenance regimen that is commonly used after renal transplantation has greatly improved early graft survival after transplantation;however,the long-term prognosis of grafts has not been significantly improved.The nephrotoxicity of CNI drugs is one of the main risk factors for the poor long-term prognosis of grafts.Sirolimus(SRL)has been employed as an immunosuppressant in clinical practice for over 20 years and has been found to have no nephrotoxic effects on grafts.Presently,the regimen and timing of SRL application after renal transplantation vary,and clinical data are scarce.Multicenter prospective randomized controlled studies are particularly rare.This study aims to investigate the effects of early conversion to a low-dose CNI combined with SRL on the long-term prognosis of renal transplantation.Methods:Patients who receive four weeks of a standard regimen with CNI+mycophenolic acid(MPA)+glucocorticoid after renal transplantation in multiple transplant centers across China will be included in this study.At week 5,after the operation,patients in the experimental group will receive an additional administration of SRL,a reduction in the CNI drug doses,withdrawal of MPA medication,and maintenance of glucocorticoids.In addition,patients in the control group will receive the maintained standard of care.The patients’vital signs,routine blood tests,routine urine tests,blood biochemistry,serum creatinine,BK virus(BKV)/cytomegalovirus(CMV),and trough concentrations of CNI drugs and SRL at the baseline and weeks 12,24,36,48,72,and 104 after conversion will be recorded.Patient survival,graft survival,and estimated glomerular filtration rate will be calculated,and concomitant medications and adverse events will also be recorded.Conclusion:The study data will be utilized to evaluate the efficacy and safety of early conversion to low-dose CNIs combined with SRL in renal transplant patients.

Plasma-based CO_(2)conversion is promising for carbon capture and utilization.However,inconsistent reporting of the performance metrics makes it difficult to compare plasma processes systematically,complicates elucidating the underlying mechanisms and compromises further development of this technology.Therefore,this critical review summarizes the correct definitions for gas conversion in plasma reactors and highlights common errors and inconsistencies observed throughout literature.This is done for pure CO_(2)splitting,dry reforming of methane and CO_(2)hydrogenation.We demonstrate that the change in volumetric flow rate is a critical aspect,inherent to these reactions,that is often not correctly taken into account.For dry reforming of methane and CO_(2)hydrogenation,we also demonstrate inconsistent reporting of energy efficiency,and through numerical examples,we show the significance of these deviations.Furthermore,we discuss how to measure changes in volumetric flow rate,supported by data from two experimental examples,showing that the sensitivity inherent to a standard component and a flow meter is essential to consider when deriving the performance metrics.Finally,some general recommendations and good practices are provided.This paper aims to be a comprehensive guideline for authors,to encourage more consistent calculations and stimulate the further development of this technology.
