This paper establishes an evaluation index system for existing building green-retrofitting considering different building majors. The weights of indicators at different levels were determined by using decision-making analytic hierarchy process. According to fuzzy mathematics theory, indicators at different levels were taken into an evaluation factor set while three-star level, two-star level, one-star level and unqualified level were taken as the comment set to develop a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model for the green retrofitting of existing buildings. Additionally, the evaluation system proposed by this paper and the national standard "Assessment standard for green building" GB/T 50378-2014 were used in the assessment of a certain office after green retrofitting as a case study. The case study indicates that the evaluation developed by this research are more applicable for green retrofitting of existing building, while the national standard "Assessment standard for green building" has limitations except for new building.

The Himalayan region is one of the major seismic areas in the ***,similar to many other seismically active locations,there are substantial numbers of unreinforced masonry(URM)buildings;the majority of which have not been designed for seismic *** seismic events have shown that such buildings are highly vulnerable to *** of these URM buildings is an important concern in earthquake mitigation *** government school buildings in rural areas of northern India are constructed of unreinforced *** school buildings are socially important structures and serve as a crucial resource for rehabilitation during any *** effectiveness of ferrocement(FC)to create a URM-FC composite is described in this study by estimating the performance and fragility of a URM school building before and after a *** models,based on the equivalent frame method,are developed and used for nonlinear static analysis to estimate the enhancement in *** capacity enhancement due to retrofitting is presented in terms of the maximum PGA sustained and damage probabilities at the expected level of earthquake hazard.

As the variation and timely meeting thermal environment requirement of indoor air temperature has a close relationship with the thermal performance of building external wall under discontinuous radiant heating condition, one appropriate assessment method or index for assessing the building external wall thermal performance is very necessary. In order to reasonably evaluate the thermal performance of external wall under discontinuous radiant heating condition and build the direct connections and interactions among the indoor air temperature, external wall inner surface temperature and outdoor air temperature, the first and second impact factors of temperature deviation were established, based on one mathematical model of room heat transfer. For one experimental room and four types of external walls under discontinuous radiant heating condition, both the influence of the external wall inner surface temperature deviation on the indoor air temperature and that of the outdoor air temperature deviation on the external wall inner surface temperature were determined effectively with the first and second impact factors of temperature deviation. In addition, favourable performance for the self-insulation and inner insulation walls were found, due to their superiority in effectively and timely improving the indoor thermal environment under discontinuous radiant heating condition.

In this study a 10-storied residential building model was employed to clarify the ventilation characteristics of the atrium and the rooms,which were effected by the different forms of lateral *** experiment was conducted under the combined effect of wind force and thermal buoyancy,and the similarity requirements were *** results have shown that the different forms of lateral openings cause the different ventilation effect of the building,and also have some certain *** conclusions provide a theoretical foundation for how to use the ventilation of atrium better in high-rise residential building.

A new coastal technique, named as assembly coastal building, was introduced. The main concept of the technique was the assembling components which could be combined and locked together to form a large caisson. The assembly coastal building technique was used in a sea access road in Zhuanghai 4X1 well, Dagang Oilfield. The design plans and in-situ tests in the sea access road project were introduced in detail. According to the Zhuanghai project, the numerical simulation method of assembly coastal building technique was proposed. 2D numerical simulations were performed in FLAC to analyze the displacement and stability of the technique in the construction process and post-construction period. The settlement calculated is close to the in-situ results, which proves that the proposed numerical method is reasonable. Results show that the assembly coastal building technique has large safety factor under the gravity loading and wave loadings.

Flood damage assessment(FDA)is a key component of risk-based method for flood *** the current FDA approaches,generally the uniqueness of the building is disregarded in the ***,they are unfit for detailed applications in which case-by-case analysis of building damage is an essential *** limitation is compounded by the use of incomplete and often low-quality data inputs about the building and the assumptions and approximations made regarding the geometry and materials of its *** shortcomings may result in incomplete and uncertain *** the benefits and increasing use of three-dimensional(3D)urban modeling and building Information Model in various urban management processes,in this paper,an integrated framework for utilization of detailed 3D building models for the assessment and 3D visualization of flood damage to building according to its distinct behavior against flood is presented.A proof-ofconcept demonstration of the framework in a case study underlined the feasibility of implementation of the framework,which can potentially benefit a variety of users and be used as a complementary approach to the current FDA methods for improving the resilience of the community toward floods and their adverse impacts.
