Algorithmic Optimization of BDDs and Performance Evaluation for Multi-level Logic Circuits with Area and Power Trade-offs

Binary Decision Diagrams (BDDs) can be graphically manipulated to reduce the number of nodes and hence the area. In this context, ordering of BDDs play a major role. Most of the algorithms for input variable ordering of OBDD focus primarily on area minimization. However, suitable input variable ordering helps in minimizing the power consumption also. In this particular work, we have proposed two algorithms namely, a genetic algorithm based technique and a branch and bound algorithm to find an optimal input variable order. Of course, the node reordering is taken care of by the standard BDD package buddy-2.4. Moreover, we have evaluated the performances of the proposed algorithms by running an exhaustive search program. Experi-mental results show a substantial saving in area and power. We have also compared our techniques with other state-of-art techniques of variable ordering for OBDDs and found to give superior results.

In this work, join and meet algebraic structure which exists in non-near-linear finite geometry are discussed. Lines in non-near-linear finite geometry ?were expressed as products of lines in near-linear finite geometry ?(where?p?is a prime). An existence of lattice between any pair of near-linear finite geometry ?of ?is confirmed. For q|d, a one-to-one correspondence between the set of subgeometry ?of ?and finite geometry ?from the subsets of the set {D(d)}?of divisors of d?(where each divisor represents a finite geometry) and set of subsystems {∏(q)}?(with variables in Zq) of a finite quantum system ∏(d)?with variables in Zd?and a finite system from the subsets of the set of divisors of d?is established.

If Goldbach’s conjecture is true, then for each prime number p there is at least one pair of primes symmetric with respect to p and whose sum is 2p. In the multiplicative number theory, covering the positive integers with primes, during the prime factorization, may be viewed as being the outcome of a parallel system which functions properly if and only if Euler’s formula of the product of the reciprocals of the primes is true. An exact formula for the number of primes less than or equal to an arbitrary bound is given. This formula may be implemented using Wolfram’s computer package Mathematica.

This work presents a theoretical simulation of the infrared spectra of strong hydrogen bond in alpha-phase 2-pyridone dimers, as well as in their deuterium derivatives at room temperature. The theory takes into account an adiabatic anharmonic coupling between the high-frequency N-H(D) stretching and the low-frequency intermolecular N...O stretching modes by considering that the effective angular frequency of the fast mode N-H(D) is assumed to be strongly dependent on the slow mode stretching coordinate N...O, the intrinsic anharmonicity of the low-frequency N...O mode through a Morse potential, Davydov coupling triggered by resonance exchange between the excited states of the fast modes of the two hydrogen bonds involved in the cyclic dimer, multiple Fermi resonances between the N-H(D) stretching and the overtone of the N-H(D) bending vibrations and the direct and indirect damping of the fast stretching modes of the hydrogen bonds and of the bending modes. The IR spectral density is computed within the linear response theory by Fourier transform of the autocorrelation function of the transition dipole moment operator of the N-H(D) bond. The theoretical line shapes of the υN-H(D) band of alpha-phase 2-pyridone dimers are compared to the experimental ones. The effect of deuteration is successfully reproduced.

This study investigates an energy-aware flow shop scheduling problem with a time-dependent learning effect. The relationship between the traditional and the proposed scheduling problem is shown and objective is to determine a job sequence in which the total energy consumption is minimized. To provide an efficient solution framework, composite lower bounds are proposed to be used in a solution approach with the name of boundsbased Nested Partition(BBNP). A worst-case analysis on shortest process time heuristic is conducted for theoretical measurement. Computational experiments are performed on randomly generated test instances to evaluate the proposed algorithms. Results show that BBNP has better performance than conventional heuristics and provides considerable computational advantage.

This paper tackles pose tracking and model refinement, one of the fundamental work for 3D photogrammetry. The researches belong to the videometrics, an interdisciplinewhich combines computer vision, digital image processing, photogrammetry and optical measurement. Related works are summarized briefly in this paper. This paper studies the problem of pose tracking for target with 3D model. For the target with accurate 3D model, line model based pose tracking methods are proposed for target which is rich in line features. Experimental results indicate that the proposed methods track the target pose accurately. Normal distance iterative reweighted least squares and distance image iterative least squares methods are proposed to process more general targets. This paper adopts bundle adjustment to tackle pose tracking in image sequence for target with inaccurate 3D line model. The proposed method optimizes the model line parameters and the pose parameters simultaneously. The model line orientation, position and mean angle error, mean position error of the pose are 0.3°,3.5 mm and 0.12°,20.1 mm in simulation experiments of satellite pose tracking. Line features are used to track target pose with unknown 3D model through image sequence. The model line parameters and pose parameters are optimized under the framework of SFM. In simulation experiments, the reconstructed line orientation, position error and mean angle error, mean position error of pose are 0.4°,7.5 mm and 0.16°,23.5 mm.
