Loffeld’s bistatic formula (LBF) is the first two-dimensional analytic point target reference spectrum derived for general bistatic sar frequency domain *** phase history is expanded in Taylor series around the individual points of stationary phase of the trans- mitter-target and target-receiver phase histories,respectively,and thus the common bistatic stationary phase point can be obtained using the method of stationary ***,it shows limitations for extreme bistatic configurations,namely the highly squinted mode and space-surface *** weighted LBF (WLBF) is proposed in this paper based on the different contributions of total phase modulation from the transmitter and *** formulae we derived are compared with that of the original *** extreme bistatic stripmap sar data can be focused using WLBF,which accommodates the spaceborne squint geometry using the modified effec- tive velocity solution.A point target simulation example is presented to verify the accuracy of the new WLBF spectrum.

Based on the signal model of fixed-receiver bistatic sar, this paper analyzes the characteristics of azimuth-variant, which includes variation of range migration curve and variation of Doppler rate caused by different azimuth position of targets. Then, an extended nonlinear chirp scaling (NLCS) algorithm is proposed, with its flowchart and phase compensation functions being provided. Simulation results show that the algorithm is available for the characteristics of azimuth-variant of fixed-receiver bistatic sar, and good focused radar images could be acquired.

In this paper, the spatial resolutions at different directions of bistatic synthetic aperture radar （Bisar） have been derived from the ambiguity function. Compared with monostatic signal to noise ratio, Bisar＇s resolutions of a fixed point target are varying with slow time since Bisar system is space-variant. Constraints for the assumption of space-invariant bistatic topology are proposed in the paper. Moreover, under the assumption of invariance, the change of resolutions at different point in the image scene is taken into account, and we have specified two key parameters that affect resolutions directly and analyzed the way how they influence on the resolutions.

Azimuth space-variant properties of Bisar with nonequal velocities

bistatic through-wall imaging sar has a promising future. A model of bistatic sar for through-wall sensing is established, whose transmitter working in side-looking strip mode with a stationary receiver. Aiming at the requirements of imaging algorithm development on system characteristics, the paper focuses on characteristics of Doppler, space dependence, and two dimensional (2-D) resolution distribution. Through theoretical derivation in time and frequency domain combined with simulation analysis, formulas of the characteristic indexes are obtained as well as the influence of system configuration and wall parameters on them. All these lay the theoretical foundation for the development of precise imaging algorithm.

bistatic sar possesses characteristic of the azimuth space-variant when the velocities of transmitter and receiver are not equal. The geometric model of Bisar with the parallel trajectories and the nonequal platform velocities is presented. Analyzing the motion relationship of transmitter and receiver, the formula of azimuth spacevariant is derived in time domain. Via Taylor polynomial expansions, the azimuth space-variant is factorized by four terms： zero-order, first-order, second-order, and third-order term. And, their impacts on impulse response are illuminated. Some characteristics about azimuth space-variant of airborne Bisar case are exhibited by simulation experiments, and these simulated results are coincident with the formulae of azimuth space-variant.

The bistatic spaceborne/stationary In sar configuration could be applied to generate digital elevation model(DEM). However, two factors limit the DEM precision improvement. On one hand, due to the effects of the illuminator’s sidelobe and the high objects’ shadow, the pixels in the corresponding area might be polluted by the noise. On the other hand, owing to the presence of deviation(between the real value and the nominal value of the master/slave antenna positions), after utilizing the nominal value to compensate for the reference phase, the residual reference phase would remain. In order to solve the problems, we proposed a new bistatic DEM generation algorithm. Firstly, we applied the coherence-phase joint analysis method to select high-coherence points. Secondly, we deduced the transforming relationship from the deviation to the residual reference phase, and then compensated for the residual reference phase. In the experiment, the Yao Gan-3(an L-band spaceborne sar) was selected as the transmitter and the two stationary receivers were mounted on the top of a tall building. The algorithm recommended in this paper was applied to process the measured bistatic data. The analysis of the results demonstrated that the elevation error of the generated DEM for some targets had been limited to the level of 1–2 m.

In order to improve the capability of clutter cancellation in bistatic sar/GMTI processing,a new method to improve coherence between two sets of echoes from two receivers is developed based on the distributed microsatellites system with the constellation of *** to the idea of equivalent mono-static,the coherence improvement can be achieved by match filter to the spectra of equivalent squint angle,*** bistatic *** this way,the decorrelation component induced by the along-track baseline is *** of Doppler equals to equivalent radial wave multiplied by equivalent squint angle spectra,this method can be realized in two steps,as the first step the compensation of equivalent radial wave number error is achieved through range spectra cut and shift of the narrow band *** the second step,the Doppler spectra not overlapped should be removed,by which the bistatic bisector can be *** results show the decorrelation components introduced by the along-track baseline can be fully eliminated using this method.
