background Intestinal perforation and sometimes obstruction in neonates demand diverting stomas which are associated with fluid,electrolytes and nutrient *** establishment of gut continuity is the key to the best outcome,though primary anastomosis is not always *** aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of bishop Koop stoma in establishing early continuity of gut and confirming the function of distal *** Data of patients who underwent bishop Koop conversion of diverting stoma from July 2016 to June 2018 were reviewed *** and outcome data were recorded and analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Science(SPSS)V.22 *** permission was taken from hospital ethical *** 29 patients were included(16 male and 13 female).Mean age of conversion was 5.8±2.5 months and mean weight was 4.9±*** bowel movement was established in 26 *** patient died of sepsis on sixth postoperative day and one had anastomotic *** was no significant difference with respect to outcome between perforation and obstruction *** Koop stomas were closed after 6 weeks of *** bishop Koop conversion of temporary stoma was turned out as a good choice for these patients.

Objective:To compare the bishop score and cervical length measured by transvaginal ultrasound concerned with prediction over the success of labor ***:This cross-sectional observational analytical study was conducted from May 2017 to October 2017 at several teaching hospitals of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Faculty of Medicine Hasanuddin University of Makassar, India. There were 110 samples of pregnant women undergoing labor induction process including 79 samples of successful induction and 31 samples of induction failure. The data analysis used Pearson Chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression to see the effect of bishop score and measurement of cervical length with successful induction of ***: Number of samples with successful labor induction with bishop score bishop score≥3 was 54 (68.4%), with rate ratio=3.714 andP=0.000. With measurement of cervical length (cut-off point 2.98 cm), number of samples with successful labor induction with cervical length≤2.98 cm was 12 (15.2%) and cervical length >2.98 cm was 67 (84.8%), with rate ratio=3.124 andP=0.000. Multivahate analysis of logistic regression was found to be more influential in the predicted success of labor induction (P=0.014 with bishop score bishop score≥3, odds ratio=3.779. Conclusions: bishop score is better in predicting the success of labor induction compared to the measurement of cervical length through transvaginal ultrasound.

Background: The ripeness of the cervix is of critical importance to the probability of successful labour induction. Aim: To determine the relationship between successful induction of labour and bishop score. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study of all obstetric patients who had induction of labour between January 1st 2012 and December 31st 2015 was done in Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki. The information obtained from patients’ case notes was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics at an alpha level of 0.05 for all statistical tests. Results: During the study period, there were 9548 deliveries;2.76% (264) was by induction of labour with success rate of 75.4%. The mean age of the women was 28.4 ± 5.8 years;majority where nulliparous (45.45%). The most common indication for induction of labour was postdatism (43.94%). Success of induction of labour was most likely at bishop score of 8 to 10 (OR = 0.79, 95% CI 0.72 - 0.84). Induction delivery interval was shortest with use of Foley catheter and misoprostol. Conclusion: Our study has shown that success of induction of labour was most likely at bishop Score of 8 - 10. We advocate the use of Foley catheter and misoprostol for cervical ripening especially when there is need to expedite delivery.

Elizabeth bishop is a well-known American poet and short story writer, whose literary works have been appreciated by readers and received many awards. This paper intends to have an analysis of one of Elizabeth bishop’s poem, The Moose, from the perspective of human-nature relationship showed in it and finds out that a harmonious relationship between mankind and nature can be interpreted from the poem. This paper is divided into three parts, including a brief introduction of the poet and the poem, the analysis of the poem, and the conclusion reached after the analysis.

Elizabeth bishop(1911-1979), one of the most important and distinguished poets in the twentieth-century American literary world, is recognized as unique mainly for her objective and the imaginative images and the detachment in her poetry. Her poetry emphasizes the emotional self-control and avoids the description of individual life. This style is just coincided with T. ***'s theory of impersonality. The article attempts to analyze the specific use of impersonality in bishop's poem The Fish from two aspects: the objective description of the fish and the revelation of the universal truth.

本文分析了我院五年来210例初产、单胎、头位高危孕妇以改良 bishop 评分法为指导,进行人工剥膜、破膜加催产素静脉滴注引产病例。本法操作简便;成功率高,24小时内临产率达97.14%;对母婴较安全:在高危妊娠的处理中有一定实用价值。要提高引产成功率,除盆腔评分需≥6分外,同时宫颈口扩张要≥1分,宫颈成熟度要≥2分,并建议以引产开始后6小时内临产者作为引产成功的标准。本文还提出用微量催产索静滴以促使宫颈成熟,有利于引产的成功。
