The direct bonding copper(DBC)substrates of insulated gate Bipolar transistor(IGBT)modules degrade inevitably under cycling thermo‐mechanical stress,causing potential threat to the reliability of IGBT modules.However,little attention has been paid to monitoring their degradation.This paper proposes a DBC degradation monitoring method for IGBT modules,which combines boundary‐dependent thermal network and feedback control.A thermal network is employed to describe the internal material degradation of IGBT modules and can be extracted from a finite‐element method model.The boundary conditions including power losses and DBC degradation are considered,enabling the thermal network suitable for various working conditions and different DBC degradation conditions of IGBT modules.The DBC degradation is characterised by its equivalent thermal conductivities measured in the thermal cycling ageing experiments.On the basis of the boundary‐dependent thermal network,feedback control is applied to monitor DBC degradation by regulating boundary‐dependent thermal impedances.Finally,the proposed model is verified from the effectiveness and accuracy of DBC degradation monitoring and junction temperature calculation.This method casts new light on thermal network modelling and could provide a feasible method for the monitoring of DBC degradation.

Bipolar medium-voltage DC(MVDC)and lowvoltage DC(LVDC)grids have the advantages of flexible integration of distributed renewable-energy generation and reliable power supply.In order to achieve voltage conversion,power transfer,and electrical isolation for Bipolar MVDC and LVDC grids,a high-power DC-DC converter is essential.Therefore,this paper proposes an isolated Bipolar modular multilevel DCDC converter(BiMMDC)with power self-balancing capability for interconnection of MVDC and LVDC grids.The proposed BiMMDC consists of two series connected MMCs in the MV stage to configure a Bipolar MVDC interface,and interleaved converters combined with a dual-transformer are designed in the LV stage to configure the Bipolar LVDC interface and to provide a self-balancing capability.Equivalent circuits of two series-connected MMCs and a dual-transformer with interleaved converters are derived.After that,operation principles of the proposed BiMMDC are introduced,considering balanced/unbalanced power transfer of Bipolar LVDC grid and monopolar shortcircuit or open-circuit faults at MVDC grid.The control scheme is also presented for the proposed BiMMDC under different operating conditions.Finally,a Matlab simulation and controller hardware-in-the-loop(CHIL)evaluation results are provided to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed typology and its operating performance.

Mood disorders/psychosis have been associated with dysfunctions in the default mode network(DMN).However,the relative contributions of DMN regions to state and trait disturbances in pediatric Bipolar disorder(PBD)remain unclear.The aim of this study was to investigate the possible mechanisms of PBD through brain imaging and explore the influence of psychotic symptoms on functional alterations in PBD patients.Twenty-nine psychotic and 26 non-psychotic PBD patients,as well as 19 age-and sex-matched healthy controls underwent a restingstate functional MRI scan and the data were analyzed by independent component analysis.The DMN component from the fMRI data was extracted for each participant.Spearman's rank correlation analysis was performed between aberrant connectivity and clinical measurements.The results demonstrated that psychotic PBD was characterized by aberrant DMN connectivity in the anterior cingulate cortex/medial prefrontal cortex,bilateral caudate nucleus,bilateral angular gyri,and left middle temporal gyrus,while non-psychotic PBD was not,suggesting further impairment with the development of psychosis.In summary,we demonstrated unique impairment in DMN functional connectivity in the psychotic PBD group.These specific neuroanatomical abnormalities may shed light on the underlying pathophysiology and presentation of PBD.

Neuroimmune system may be involved in the pathological process of Bipolar disorder(BD),but the essential association is not fully understood.Accumulating evidence has shown that BD involves the activation of immune cells and the release of inflammatory substances in the central nerve system(CNS).Meanwhile,neuroimmune responses also interact with other hypothesis of the etiology of BD that are widely recognized,such as neurotransmitter systems,neuroendocrine systems,neurotrophic factors,and oxidative stress.Simultaneously,related genes and immune changes in peripheral blood vary with it.Overall,neuroimmunity may play an important role in the pathogenesis of BD,and the inflammatory cytokines,especially interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha,have potential value for the clinical diagnosis and prognosis of BD,as well as predicting the therapeutic effects of drugs.Large-scale studies are needed to extend the evidence on neuroimmunity in BD,and to examine its clinical value for applications such as early prediction and treatment.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic, recurrent, disabling disease, even when given currently-available pharmacological and psychological treatments. Currently, the etiology and pathogenesis of BD remain unclear. As a consequence, patients with BD are frequently unrecognized, misdiagnosed, and inappropriately treated, which often yields a low treatment response and poor outcome.

Neurocysticercosis is the most common neuro-parasitosis caused by the larval stage of Taenia solium.The most common manifestations include seizures and hydrocephalus.Psychiatric abnormalities are relatively rare but depressive symptoms are frequent in patients with neurocysticercosis.However,mania as a presentation is relatively rare.Pregnancy and the postpartum period are relatively vulnerable times and they can lead to reactivation of existing neurocysterci lesions.We are discussing the case of a 23-year old female patient with neurocysticercosis leading to the reactivation of lesions in the peripartum and postpartum period leading to Bipolar affective disorder.Improvement in the patient was seen with a combination of antipsychotics,antihelmintics,antiepileptics and steroids,along with improved radiological signs of neurocysterci lesions.Although neurocysticercosis is a common illness,its prevalence presenting as a manic episode is merely 2.6%and,hence,missed easily.Therefore,it is important to rule out organic aetiology in patients even with a classic presentation of Bipolar affective disorder and those having any other neurological symptoms and signs.

The clinician patient relationship lies at the core of psychiatric practice and delivery of mental health care services. The concept of treatment alliance in psychiatry has its origins in psychotherapy, but has also been influenced by several other constructs such as patientcentred care(PCC) and shared decision-making(SDM). Similarly, there has been a shift in conceptualization of treatment-adherence in psychiatric disorders including Bipolar disorder(BD) from illness-centred and clinician-centred approaches to patient-centred ones. Moreover, the traditional compliance based models are being replaced by those based on concordance between clinicians and patients. Newer theories of adherence in BD place considerable emphasis on patient related factors and the clinician patient alliance is considered to be one of the principal determinants of treatment-adherence in BD. Likewise, current notions of treatment alliance in BD also stress the importance of equal and collaborative relationships, sensitivity to patients' viewpoints, sharing of knowledge, and mutual responsibility and agreement regarding decisions related to treatment. Accumulated evidence from quantitative research, descriptive accounts, qualitative studies and trials of psychosocial interventions indicates that efficacious treatment alliances have a positive influence on adherence in BD. Then again, research on the alliance-adherence link in BD lags behind the existing literature on the subject in other medical and psychiatric conditions in terms of the size and quality of the evidence, the consistency of its findings and clarity about underlying processes mediating this link. Nevertheless, the elements of an effective alliance which could have a positive impact on adherence in BD are reasonably clear and include PCC, collaborative relationships, SDM, open communication, trust, support, and stability and continuity of the relationship. To improve the interfacial conductivity and corrosion resistance of AISI430 stainless steel(430 SS)as Bipolar plates for direct formic acid fuel cells(DFAFCs),a Nb_(0.8)Zr_(0.2) layer has been successfully synthesized via the pulsed laser deposition(PLD)technique on the surface of 430 SS.This Nb_(0.8)Zr_(0.2) layer is smooth,uniform,and comparatively compact without any surface flaw and micropore.Investigation under the simulated anodic environment of DFAFCs(0.05 M H_(2)SO_(4)+2 ppm HF+10 M HCOOH at 70℃)shows that the corrosion resistance of 430 SS is obviously ameliorated after the PLD modification.In addition,the interfacial contact resistance of Nb_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)-430 SS(6.0 mΩcm^(2))is much smaller than that of bare 430 SS(151.3 mΩcm^(2))at the clamping force of 140 N cm^(-2).Besides,diff erent from the highly increased interfacial contact resistance of bare 430 SS,the Nb_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)-430 SS shows a minor increase resistance after potentiostatic tests in simulated anodic environment of DFAFCs.

Disturbance of biological rhythms contributes to the onset of Bipolar disorders and is an important clinical feature of the condition.To further explore the role of biological rhythms in Bipolar disorders,95 English articles published between 1968 and 2019 were retrieved from the PubMed database and analysed.We herein review the outcomes of studies on biological rhythm disturbance in Bipolar disorders,including the epidemiology,aetiology,clinical features(eg,sleep,feeding and eating disorders)and treatment of the condition evaluated by patients*selfreport and biological indicators such as melatonin.Our report supports the characterisation of biological rhythm disturbance as a significant clinical feature affecting the onset and development of Bipolar disorders and reviews classical and novel treatments,such as chronotherapy,that can be applied in the clinical practice.Our analysis indicates that a more comprehensive study of the pathophysiology,clinical phenomenology and treatment of biological rhythm disturbance is required.

Over the last three decades burgeoning research has shown that anxiety disorder comorbidity is not only highly prevalent in Bipolar disorder(BD),but it also adversely impacts the course,outcome,and treatment of BD.The present review provides an overview of the current trends in research on comorbid anxiety and BDs based on prior reviews and meta-analyses(n=103),epidemiological surveys,and large-scale clinical studies.The results reiterated the fact that at least half of those with BD are likely to develop an anxiety disorder in their lifetimes and a third of them will manifest an anxiety disorder at any point of time.All types of anxiety disorders were equally common in BD.However,there was a wide variation in rates across different sources,with most of this discrepancy being accounted for by methodological differences between reports.Comorbid anxiety disorders negatively impacted the presentation and course of BD.This unfavourable clinical profile led to poorer outcome and functioning and impeded treatment of BD.Despite the extensive body of research there was paucity of data on aetiology and treatment of anxiety disorder comorbidity in BD.Nevertheless,the substantial burden and unique characteristics of this comorbidity has important clinical and research implications.
