Base Station (BS) backup batteries (BSBBs), with their dispatchable capacity, are potential demand-side resources for future power systems. To enhance the power supply reliability and post-contingency frequency security of power systems, we propose a two-stage stochastic unit commitment (UC) model incorporating operational reserve and post-contingency frequency support provisions from massive BSBBs in cellular networks, in which the minimum backup energy demand is considered to ensure BS power supply reliability. The energy, operational reserve, and frequency support ancillary services are co-optimized to handle the power balance and post-contingency frequency security in both forecasted and stochastic variable renewable energy (VRE) scenarios. Furthermore, we propose a dedicated and scalable distributed optimization framework to enable autonomous optimizations for both dispatching center (DC) and BSBBs. The BS model parameters are stored and processed locally, while only the values of BS decision variables are required to upload to DC under the proposed distributed optimization framework, which safeguards BS privacy effectively. Case studies on a modified IEEE 14-bus system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in promoting VRE accommodation, ensuring post-contingency frequency security, enhancing operational economics, and fully utilizing BSBBs' energy and power capacity. Besides, the proposed distributed optimization framework has been validated to converge to a feasible solution with near-optimal performance within limited iterations. Additionally, numerical results on the Guangdong 500 kV provincial power system in China verify the scalability and practicality of the proposed distributed optimization framework.

Wireless sensor networks(WSN)are designed to monitor the physical properties of the target area.The received signal strength(RSS)plays a significant role in reducing sensor node power consumption during data transmission.Proper utilization of RSS values with clustering is required to harvest the energy of each network node to prolong the network life span.This paper introduces the RSS-based energy-efficient selective clustering technique using a master node(RESCM)to improve energy utilization using a master node.The master node positioned at the center of the network area and Base Station(BS)is placed outside the network area.During cluster head(CH)selection,the node with a high RSS value is more likely to become CH.The network is divided into segments according to the distance from the master node.All nodes near BS or master node transmit their data using direct transmission without the clustering process.The simulation results showed that the RESCM method improves the total network lifespan effectively.

Internet of Things(IoT)network used for industrial management is vulnerable to different security threats due to its unstructured deployment,and dynamic communication behavior.In literature various mechanisms addressed the security issue of Industrial IoT networks,but proper maintenance of the performance reliability is among the common challenges.In this paper,we proposed an intelligent mutual authentication scheme leveraging authentication aware node(AAN)and Base Station(BS)to identify routing attacks in Industrial IoT networks.The AAN and BS uses the communication parameter such as a route request(RREQ),node-ID,received signal strength(RSS),and round-trip time(RTT)information to identify malicious devices and routes in the deployed network.The feasibility of the proposed model is validated in the simulation environment,where OMNeT++was used as a simulation tool.We compare the results of the proposed model with existing field-proven schemes in terms of routing attacks detection,communication cost,latency,computational cost,and throughput.The results show that our proposed scheme surpasses the previous schemes regarding these performance parameters with the attack detection rate of 97.7%.

Energy efficiency(EE)is a critical design when taking into account circuit power consumption(CPC)in fifth-generation cellular networks.These problems arise because of the increasing number of antennas in massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)systems,attributable to inter-cell interference for channel state information.Apart from that,a higher number of radio frequency(RF)chains at the Base Station and active users consume more power due to the processing activities in digital-to-analogue converters and power amplifiers.Therefore,antenna selection,user selection,optimal transmission power,and pilot reuse power are important aspects in improving energy efficiency in massive MIMO systems.This work aims to investigate joint antenna selection,optimal transmit power and joint user selection based on deriving the closed-form of the maximal EE,with complete knowledge of large-scale fading with maximum ratio transmission.It also accounts for channel estimation and eliminating pilot contamination as antennas M→∞.This formulates the optimization problem of joint optimal antenna selection,transmits power allocation and joint user selection to mitigate inter-cellinterference in downlink multi-cell massive MIMO systems under minimized reuse of pilot sequences based on a novel iterative low-complexity algorithm(LCA)for Newton’s methods and Lagrange multipliers.To analyze the precise power consumption,a novel power consumption scheme is proposed for each individual antenna,based on the transmit power amplifier and CPC.Simulation results demonstrate that the maximal EE was achieved using the iterative LCA based on reasonable maximum transmit power,in the case the noise power is less than the received power pilot.The maximum EE was achieved with the desired maximum transmit power threshold by minimizing pilot reuse,in the case the transmit power allocationρd=40 dBm,and the optimal EE=71.232 Mb/j.

Nowadays,wireless sensor networks play a vital role in our day to day life.Wireless communication is preferred for many sensing applications due its convenience,ﬂexibility and effectiveness.The sensors to sense the environmental factor are versatile and send sensed data to central station wirelessly.The cluster based protocols are provided an optimal solution for enhancing the lifetime of the sensor networks.In this paper,modiﬁed K-means++algorithm is used to form the cluster and cluster head in an efﬁcient way and the Advanced Energy-Efﬁcient Cluster head selection Algorithm(AEECA)is used to calculate the weighted fac-tor of the transmission path and effective data collection using gateway node.The experimental results show the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing routing algorithms.

A multistandard software-defined radio Base Station must perform non-uniform channelization of multiplexed frequency bands. Non-uniform channelization accounts for a significant portion of the digital signal processing workload in the Base Station receiver and can be difficult to realize in a physical implementation. In non-uniform channelization methods based on generalized DFT filter banks, large prototype filter orders are a significant issue for implementation. In this paper, a multistage filter design is applied to two different non-uniform generalized DFT-based channelizers in order to reduce their filter orders. To evaluate the approach, a TETRA and TEDS Base Station is used. Experimental results show that the new multistage design reduces both the number of coefficients and operations and leads to a more feasible design and practical physical implementation.

A Precoding Real-Time Buffer based Self-Healing Solution for 5G Networks

This paper analyzes effects of power saving of mobile station（MS）to Base Station with finite buffer in IEEE802.16e class type I network.IEEE802.16e standard accept MS to switch to sleep-mode to minimize power when MS processing load is reduced.However,when packets destined to MS appear into BS buffer,they should be stored until end of MS sleep window.Although the sleep-mode designed in effort to conserve environment but it risks loss of packets once BS buffer overloaded with accumulated packets.This paper designs numerical analytic model to measure risk of packet drop. Through asymptotic analysis the effect of packets destined to sleeping MS into BS finite buffer is measured and analysed.

In order to meet key requirements imposed by transitioning to a 5G network, new network management techniques must be employed in order to increase network reliability and efficiency. Most notably, it is important that a Self-Organizing Network (SON) is able to recover autonomously from network failure or congestion through Self-Healing procedures (i.e. autonomous detection, diagnosis, and correction). This paper aims to develop a self-healing algorithm that can effectively “heal” a 5G network by testing a proposed self-healing algorithm within a network simulator that adheres to current 5G standards. The simulator developed in this paper aims to model a network of small cells that can inherit one of multiple states (healthy, congested, and failing) to validate the effectiveness of a programmed self-healing algorithm in recovering a simulated network. Results show that the application of a self-healing in a network is able to resolve issues related to Quality of Service (QoS) and reduced network data rates in portions of a network that are in a partially congested or failing state.
