Anti -proliferative Activity of Methanol Extract from bark of juglans mandshurica in Gastric Cancer SGC- 7901 cells

Objective To investigate the anti-proliferation effect of methanol extract from bark of juglans mandshurica(EMBJM) on human gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901. Methods SGC-7901 cells in culture medium in vitro were treated with different concentrations of *** cytotoxic effect of EMBJM on the SGC-7901 cells was by MTT assay;DNA content and cell cycle were detected by flow cytometry(FCM),and the activity of Caspase-3 was determined with microplate reader. Results EMBJM treatment exhibited a marked inhibition on the survival of SGC-7901 cells in time-and dose-dependent manners;compared with control group,the G2 group was significantly decreased in EMBJM treatment *** could induce cell cycle arrest at G1 and S phase in SGC-7901 cells in a dose-dependent manner;after exposure to various concentrations of EMBJM,the activity of Caspase-3 was significantly higher than control group. Conclusion EMBJM can effectively inhibit proliferation in SGC-7901 cells via cell cycle arrest and apoptosis induction.
