Objective:To explore the effect differences between moxibustion and donepezil hydrochloride on the attention network function of patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods:A total of 64 patients of MCI were randomly divided into the moxibustion group and donepezil hydrochloride group,32 cases in each one.On the basis of conventional treatment,the patients in the moxibustion group were given moxibustion,6 times a week,and the patients in the donepezil hydrochloride group were given donepezil hydrochloride orally,5 mg/day.The course of treatment was 60 days for both of the groups.Cognitive attention network function and activities of daily living(ADL)score were examined before and after treatment.Results:The differences of alerting reaction time(RT),executive control RT,overall mean RT and accuracy of the moxibustion group after treatment were significantly higher than those of the donepezil hydrochloride group[alert:(60.3±3.3)ms vs(48.3±3.7)ms,P<0.05;executive control:(81.2±3.2)ms vs(91.7±4.2)ms,P<0.05;total reaction time:(500.4±17.2)ms vs(536.2±20.1)ms.P<0.05;accuracy:(83.7±4.6)%vs(77.4±4.3)%,P<0.05].After treatment,the ADL scores of the both groups were significantly higher than those before treatment[the moxibustion group:(56.47±4.02)points vs(41.53±4.06)points,P<0.05;the donepezil hydrochloride group:(50.75±4.05)points vs(40.84±3.67)points,P<0.05],and the ADL score of the moxibustion group was significantly higher than that of the donepezil hydrochloride group[(56.47±4.02)points vs(50.75±4.05)points,P<0.05].Conclusion:Compared with donepezil hydrochloride,moxibustion has a better effect on the cognitive function of MCI patients.

Purpose:Tamoxifen(TAM) is most commonly prescribed for patients with hormone-sensitive breast cancer and exerts agonistic/antagonistic effects on estrogen receptors throughout the body.Accumulating evidence reveals that breast cancer patients receiving TAM manifest cognitive dysfunction;however,whether these patients have a global attention deficit or a more selective impairment of specific attentional networks remains unknown.Methods:In the present study,we sought to explore the attentional function of premenopausal women with hormone receptor positive breast cancer treated with TAM using the attention network test(ANT).The subjects included breast cancer patients receiving TAM(TAM,N=43),breast cancer patients not receiving TAM(non-TAM,N=41),and their matched healthy controls(HC,N=46).The subjects completed the ANT and neuropsychological tests,which measure three independent attention networks and prefrontal cortex executive function performance,respectively.Results:Our results indicated that patients in the TAM group had significant deficits in their executive component but not in the alerting or orienting components.Moreover,the patients showed poor prefrontal cortex executive function performance in the neuropsychological tests.Additionally,significant correlations were found in the TAM group between the decreased efficiency of the executive component and the reduced performance of prefrontal cortex executive function on neuropsychological tests.Conclusions:This study demonstrates that the premenopausal women with hormone receptor positive breast cancer treated with TAM have impairment of executive attention network and that this impairment may be due to dysfunctions in the prefrontal lobe.

＜正＞Objective Recent studies on meditation revealed that short-term or long-term meditation training could improve attention.In these studies,participants who attended meditation training could perform better in attention tasks than control group.In these attention tasks,participants have already known what the stimuli will present on the screen.However,the real-world raises a different question:how likely are subjects to notice something salient that they do not expect? For example,a person may fail to see a friend in a cinema when looking for an empty seat,even if the friend is waving,a phenomenon known as ’inattentional blindness’（IB）.In the present study,we not only examine whether meditation training can improve the ability of focus attention on expectant stimuli relevant to the task,but also test if meditation training can improve the ability of perceiving unexpected objects.Methods The experimental group assigned to 4 days（30-min per day） of meditation practice,the control group got no meditation training.The attention network test（ANT） was conducted on participants before（Time 1） and after（Time 2） training.The IB task was just conducted on the time 2.Results（1） Compared with time 1,the experimental group showed greater improvement in conflict scores on the attention network test at time 2.The control group also got improvement in conflict scores（maybe because of practice） at time 2,but it revealed no significant difference compared to that of time 1.（2） In the IB task,62.5%subjects in the experimental group noticed the unexpected stimuli.But only 25%subjects in the control group noticed that.Conclusion Meditation training can improve attention and the ability of perceiving unexpected objects.
