Dynamic Analysis of Bubble attachment and Sweeping on Microwire in Subcooled Nucleate Pool Boiling

With the development of industrial technology,heat transfer at the microscale has attracted more and more *** this work,200μm platinum wire and 150μm nickel-chromium wire were used as experimental objects,which the power was provided by DC power with the range of 15.6 W to 56.2 *** water was used as the experimental *** bubbles on the micro wire were observed and the heat mechanism was analyzed.A variety of bubble attachment phenomena were captured on the 200μm platinum wire,including the adhesion during bubble detachment,the rotation of small attached bubbles on the surface of large bubble,multiple bubbles circling at the top of the same bubble,and different attached bubble departure *** force in the vertical direction triggered the formation of bubble *** addition,the effects of surface tension,adhesion force and buoyancy force on the circling of the bubble were also *** analysis of the bubble sweeping on the 150μm nickel-chromium wire was *** results showed that the static bubble would interact with the sweeping bubbles on the other side,thereby changing the heat transfer mechanism,which was not discussed in detail *** bubble jet flow generated by thermocapillary convection on the vertical direction of the bubble surface was the main influencing factor,which would change the microlayer encountered in front of the *** effects of bubble diameter and liquid subcooling on the sweeping velocity were also *** results showed that the larger the bubble diameter was,the lower the sweeping velocity would be achieved while the liquid subcooling temperature had less impact on the velocity of sweeping bubble.

Nonculturability of the pathogenic Vibrio parahaemolyticus in live culture of Grateloupia turuturu is associated with bacterial attachment to the algal thalli

The invasive red alga Grateloupia turuturu Yamada could turn Vibrio parahaemolyticus into nonculturable state in live algal *** order to elucidate the mechanism of such an effect,a series of culture experiments were performed in this investigation based on three hypothesized causes,namely bacterial attachment,production of reactive oxygen species （ROS） and the discharge of water soluble secondary metabolic *** results reveal that attachment to the thallus surface of *** was the major reason for the decrease of *** in *** investigations show that *** attachment to the surface of algal thallus in live cultures of seaweeds was a common ***,the disappearance of the culturability of *** occurred only on the thallus of *** over 72 h among all six algal species *** microscopic scanning shows that most of *** attached to *** changed from the initial normal bacilli to coccoid-shape after 72 *** enclosure experiments by enclosing the algal thallus in tubes demonstrate that the nonculturability of *** in the water of live culture of *** occurred after the physical contact of the *** to the *** capacity of *** in affecting the culturability of *** was not influenced after inhibition of photosynthesis by treatment of 3（3,4dichlorophenyl）-1 ,1dimethyl urea （DCMU） at non-lethal *** of reactive oxygen species after addition of live culture of bacteria was excluded by on-line analyzing the oxidation of dichlorohydrofluorescein （DCFH） to dichlorofluorescein （DCF） in the presence of peroxidase on a VersaFluor fluorometer.

The role of crystallinity on differential attachment/ proliferation of osteoblasts and fibroblasts on poly （caprolactone-co-glycolide） polymeric surfaces

The objective of the present study is to systematically evaluate the role of polymer crystallinity on fibroblast and osteoblast adhesion and proliferation using a series of poly（caprolactone-co-glycolide）（PCL/PGA） polymers. PCL/PGA polymers were selected since they reflect both highly crystalline and amorphous materials. PCL/PGA polymeric materials were fabricated by compression molding into thin films. Five compositions, from PCL or PGA to intermediate copolymeric compositions of PCL/PGA in ratios of 25：75, 35：65 and 45：55, were studied. Pure PCL and PGA represented the crystalline materials while the copolymers were amorphous. The polymers/copolymers were characterized using DSC to assess crystallinity, contact angle measurement for hydrophobicity, and AFM for nanotopography. The PCL/PGA films demonstrated similar hydrophobicity and nanotopography whereas they differed significantly in crystallinity. Cell adhesion to and proliferation on PCL/PGA films and proliferation studies were performed using osteoblasts and NIH-3T3 fibroblasts. It was observed that highly crystalline and rigid PCL and PGA surfaces were significantly more efficient in supporting fibroblast growth, whereas amorphous/flexible PCL/PGA 35：65 was significantly more efficient in supporting growth of osteoblasts. This study demonstrated that while chemical composition, hydrophobicity and surface roughness of PCL/PGA polymers were held constant, crystallinity and rigidity of PCL/PGA played major roles in determining cell responses.

Improving bubble-particle attachment during the flotation of low rank coal by surface modification

Based on the problems caused by many oxygen-containing functional groups and poor floatability on the surface of low rank coal,the characteristics of low rank coal were analyzed systematically by means of scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)*** bubble-particle induction time was used to determine the characterization of the bubble-particle attachment,and the bubble-particle attachment of low rank coal modified by soaking the coal samples in an acid or alkaline solution was *** floatability of the modified coal surface was verified by flotation *** results show that the particle size of 0.125–0.074 mm of the coal sample exhibited better bubble-particle attachment *** small bubble,the larger approach velocity of bubble and the larger bubble deformation were more helpful to enhance the bubbleparticle *** an acid solution,the smaller the p H was and the longer the soaking time was,the better the floatability of the coal sample and the higher the combustible material recovery *** combustible material recovery of low rank coal was increased to 78.79%by soaking the sample in an acid solution of pH=0 for 180 *** the contrary there was a best concentration for the alkaline solution.

Relationship between attachment probability and surface energy in adhesion process of gold particles to oil-carbon agglomerates

Based on the theoretical analyses, the adhesion process of fine gold particles to oil-carbon agglomerates in a dynamic system was quantitatively investigated in terms of the relationship between the attachment probability and the surface energy. The proposed way to establish this relationship is to firstly theoretically derive the formula to （evaluate） the surface energy change of the system by analyzing the adhesion process of a gold particle on an oil-carbon agglomerate in a mathematic and thermodynamic way. The obtained formula of the maximum energy change of unit surface area is, (Δw′max=12σhw（cos θ-1）,) which involves two measurable elements: interfacial tension and contact angle. In a well-quantified system, based on the related model it is also possible to calculate the complicated concept, namely, the attachment probability by transferring other measurable indices. In this way, after some adhesion experiments and measurements of relevant parameters, the empirical relationship between the attachment probability and the surface energy change was established in an exponential function, Pa=Aexp(-ΔGsurf/k).

Effect of attachment on Movement Control of the Central Incisor Using Invisible Orthodontics:In-Silico Finite Element Analysis

We aimed to study the influence of attachment on central incisor movement control using invisible orthodontics with different translation or rotation *** this study,cone-beam computerised tomography was used to scan one 15-year-old volunteer’s ***-dimensional models of the mandibular central incisor,removable orthodontic appliance,and a rectangular attachment were reconstructed.A non-linear finite element simulation was used to analyse the influence of attachment on the stress distribution of the periodontal ligament of the central incisor under tooth rotation,mesial translation,and labial-lingual *** mandibular central incisor correction,using rectangular attachments increased the translation by up to 9.6%,increased the maximum stress on the periodontal ligament during the mesial translation correction,and reduced unwanted labial-lingual tilt by up to 40%during the rotation of the ***,wearing an attachment during labial-lingual translation had no significant effect on the orthodontic results of the mandibular central *** the mandibular central incisor’s invisible orthodontic,the rectangular attachment appliance increased the displacement and alleviated the side effect after applying mesial translation and tooth *** labial-lingual translation,the application of a rectangular attachment had no pronounced effect on the results.

The heat transfer performances of a microchannel heat sink in the presence of a nanofluid can be affected by the attachment of nanoparticle(NP)on the microchannel *** this study,the mechanisms underlying NP transport and attachment are comprehensively analyzed by means of a coupled double-distribution-function lattice Boltzmann model combined with lattice-gas *** this approach,the temperature distribution and the two-phase flow pattern are obtained for different values of the influential *** results indicate that the number of attached NPs decrease exponentially as their diameter and the fluid velocity *** increase in the wall temperature leads to an increase of the attached NPs,e.g.,the Al_(2)O_(3) NPs attached on the CuO microchannel wall increases by 105.8%in the range between 293 K and 343 *** are more attached NPs in microchannels with an irregular *** tendency of SiO2 NP to attach to the PDMS(polydimethylsiloxane),Fe and Cu walls is less significant than that for Al_(2)O_(3) and CuO NP;Moreover,NPs detach from the PDMS microchannel wall more easily than from the Cu and Fe microchannel *** SiO2 attachment layer has the greatest influence on the heat transfer performance although its thickness is thinner than that for Al_(2)O_(3) and CuO NPs under the same conditions.

Novel concept of endoscopic device delivery station system for rapid and tight attachment of polyglycolic acid sheet

AIM To evaluate appropriate and rapid polyglycolic acid sheet(PGAs) covering time using device delivery station system(DDSS).METHODS This pilot basic study was conducted to evaluate the potential of accurate and rapid PGAs delivery using DDSS. Three 11-month-old female Beagle dogs were used in this study. Two endoscopic submucosal dissections(ESDs) 4 cm in diameter were performed in lesser curvature of middle gastric body and greater curvature of antrum(total 6 ESDs performed). DDSS(3 cm length, 12 mm in outer diameter) has 2 chambers which 16 cm^2 large 2 PGAs were stored, and DDSS was attached post ESD ulcers, respectively. Beriplast P?(CSL Behring K.K., Tokyo, Japan)(combination of fibringlue and thrombin) was applied equally to the artificial ulcer, and tight attachment of 2 PGAs with DDSS were completed. The evaluation items were covering times, post ESD bleeding and perforation during *** The covering time of PGAs(defined as the duration from the beginning of endoscope insertion into the mouth to the end of the fibrin glue coating process) was 6.07(4.86-8.29) min. There was no postESD bleeding(1-7 d after ESD), and there was no perforation during *** DDSS was very useful for rapid delivering and tight attachment of PGAs, and has potentials of multipurpose delivery station system.

Objective: Parallels in findings of attachment and ADHD research suggest a connection between both constructs. However, the few articles dealing with that tie investigate children with all conceivable expressions of ADHD and have not found sufficient evidence regarding the connection between ADHD and attachment. This study sought to collect evidence of a possible connection between the two aspects among children with the predominantly inattentive ADHD type. Method: The sample consisted of 93 children aged 5 - 9 years, 48 of whom had an ADHD diagnosis of the predominantly inattentive type. attachment was coded using the German adaptation of the attachment Story Completion Task, externalizing behavior problems were rated using the Child Behavior Checklist 4 - 18. ADHD was assessed using both clinical diagnoses as well as the German ADHD Rating scale. Results: Results revealed a large difference in the distribution of attachment classification between children with ADHD and those without ADHD. Regression analysis, however, showed no independent effect on ADHD when externalizing behavior problems were controlled for. Conclusions: Both constructs seem to be connected, however, in the investigation of the influence of attachment on the disorder, ADHD as a global construct is too unspecific. As opposed to previous studies, considering only the inattentive type, the relation might completely be moderated by externalizing behavior problems. Subsequent studies should first focus on specific symptom patterns which at best should be analyzed within longitudinal studies.
