aqueous two-phase system features with ultralow interfacial tension and thick interfacial region,affording unique confined space for membrane ***,for the first time,an aqueous two-phase interfacial assembly method is proposed to fabricate covalent organic framework(COF)*** aqueous solution containing polyethylene glycol and dextran undergoes segregated phase separation into two water-rich *** respectively distributing aldehyde and amine monomers into two aqueous phases,a series of COF membranes are fabricated at water-water *** resultant membranes exhibit high NaCl rejection of 93.0-93.6% and water permeance reaching 1.7-3.7 L m^(−2) h^(−1) bar^(−1),superior to most water desalination ***,the interfacial tension is found to have pronounced effect on membrane *** appropriate interfacial tension range(0.1-1.0 mN m^(−1))leads to the tight and intact COF ***,the method is extended to the fabrication of other COF and metal-organic polymer *** work is the first exploitation of fabricating membranes in all-aqueous system,confering a green and generic method for advanced membrane manufacturing.

The Effect of pH Difference Between two phases on the Partition of Lysozyme in aqueous two-phase System

In the investigation of effect of KSCN on the partitioning of lysozyme in PEG2000/ammonium sulfate aqueous two-phase system, it was found that the KSCN could alter the pH difference between the two phases. and thus affect the partition of lysozyme. The relationship between partition coefficients of lysozyme and pH differences between two phases was discussed.

Extraction of penicillin G by aqueous two-phase system of [Bmim]BF4/NaH2PO4

A novel approach for the extraction of penicil-lin G by aqueous two-phase system comprised of hydrophilic ionic liquid [Bmim]BF4 (1-butyl-3- methylimidazolium tetra-fluoroborate) and NaH2PO4 is reported. The effects of some important parameters involving the concentration of NaH2PO4, the concentration of penicillin G, the amount of [Bmim]BF4 on the formation of aqueous two-phase system and the extraction yield of penicillin were investigated. The primary result shows that the ATPS can take advantage of penicillin concentrated in upper phase at higher pH value for penicillin extraction from its aqueous solution without emul-sification.

Extraction of Tetracycline via Ionic Liquid two-phase System

A new method to extract and separate tetracycline（TC） in a new aqueous tyro-phase system（ATPS） consisting of hydrophilic [Bmim]BF4 and NaH2PO4 was investigated. The effects of the amount of salt, ionic liquid as well as tetracycline on extraction efficiency were studied systematically. The results show that ionic liquid-ATPS exhibited the highest extraction efficiency higher than 90%. When the concentration of NaH2PO4 was 33.3%--38.5% （mass fraction）, the amounts of ionic liquid and TC were 1.0--2.0 mL and 1.8 mL, respectively, and ionic liquid could be re-used.

Determination of astaxanthin and astaxanthin esters in shrimp shell by HPLC

A method for determination of astaxanthin and astaxanthin eaters in shrimp shell by high performance liquid chromatography is *** shell are addressed with 5%hydrochloric acid to remove calcium *** shell is dried,organics from shrimp shell are extracted with anhydrous *** alcohol extrative of the shrimp shell is mixed with the ammonium sulfate to extract astaxanthin by aqueous two-phase *** crude astaxanthin is collected,which is distributed in the middle layer of the aqueous two-phase *** distilled water is added to the crude astaxanthin,the aqueous solution is centrifuged,and the previous step is repeated for several *** precipitation in centrifuge tube is collected and *** crude astaxanthin dried is dissolved with acetone,and the sample solution is separated by *** pigment on the TLC plate is collected and dissolved with *** pigments are determined by high performance liquid *** results show that aqueous two-phase system,3 mL alcohol extractive of astaxanthin and 4.5 mL 20%ammonium sulfate,can be used to acquire crude *** wavelength of the maximum peak of astaxanthin in ethanol solution is 472 nm.A variety of pigments can be separated from the crude astaxanthin by thin-layer chromatography,including free astaxanthin,astaxanthin monoester,astaxanthin diester,echinenone and other *** can be seen from high performance liquid chromatography that the appearance time of free astaxanthin is from 4 min to 5.5 min,and the appearance time of astaxanthin monoester is from 10.5 min to 27.8 *** method is simple about the sample pretreatment and feasible about the determination of astaxanthin and astaxanthin esters in shrimp shell.
